@LiteGauge lol well the white always looks very classy i've wanted a white guitar for a while to contrast my two black guitars. i find the guitar can be a very big part of a live perfromance and it's best if it matches the feeling of the song, that said i have to play all my Johnny cash with the black guitars

Best vid on youtube! One voice, one guitar, and one hell of a rendition of this classic number. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up just then! So atmospheric and beautifully performed. No flash stuff, just pure stright-from-the-heart and totally unpretentious, it's refreshing to watch. Has all the right ingredients and does the song proud. You can 'hear' the sound of pipes in the guitar instrumental part, listen again! The 'faltering' voice would bring a tear to a glass eye! Love it!

Yep.. You're dead right.. Thankfully people do have differents tastes in music and singers.. personally I like the kind that can actually sing !! have a wee listen the song sung by Van the Man or Billy Connolly or in fact anybody..  you might pick somethin up.. like the tune !!

Personally, I liked that a lot. I thought the simplicity of your version brought out a lot of the song's heart. I'd say I like that more than the Inarticulate Speech of the Heart version, though not quite as much as the one on Irish Heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, though, that was great.

There are many of his songs that I really like. However it's very daunting trying to re-arrange them, because you have to remain faithful to his tune and feelings but any attempt to imitate his style would be futile.
