Pretty Dumb....Using the Xbox 360 to watch TV will seriously overheat the console and get red ring of death.I mean even if they put the new chip in,the Xbox 360 still has heating problems and using IPTV on the console will just furthur damage the console.

This is a really awsome feature though, if they can make it work in idle mode or something where the 360 will use alot less resources like how the plug n play charger works with the 360 off it just powers enough to charge your controller then this would be great. Otherwise id be afraid of leaving my 360 on all day and getting the red rings.

Now this is whats gonna make the xbox 360 hit higher levels... I mean think about it? Hook it up to your 360 then you can buy an internal hd dvd drive through your computer and BOOM! no external dvd drive.... Or even buy a blu-ray drive for your computer and BOOM! you play bluray on 360! PLUS RECORDING TV SHOWS!! Cant do that on ps3........ thats the grat thing about microsoft... They take advantage of their softwere! .........

You will never be able to put bluray on your 360 jus so u no mate, the bluray format are supported by sony. but HD-DVD is backed by microsoft, so you'll be using that instead. But other than that, i agree with ya man!!! But i bet you any money the ps3 will go and do something like this.

Why the thumbs down, he does have a clear point with evidence to back it up. I'm with you on this nipster. As a proud (well, semi-proud) Xbox 360 owner, I do experience many overheating problems, not to mention the amount of add-ons. The 360 was a rushed console that didn't contain enough planning, that's why there are many add-ons. That's why it's a faulty system. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I don't love it (if you get my drift). Sorry for the rant.

Currently you cant. Microsoft plans to offer the 360 as a set top box for IPTV at the end of the year. To clarify, MS will not be offering IPTV. You will have to subscribe to IPTV through your local IPTV provider (just like cable or satellite). All they will be doing is offering the ability to use the 360 as a set top box (aka: cable/satellite box) instead of one that you would receive from your IPTV provider.
