People have the ability to perceive things sideways, backwards, upside-down, inside-out and convoluted. Our ability to convince ourselves of false things is truly amazing. That's why we need help. And that's why God gave us that help. In a book. But we will only find that book and understand it if we are truly seeking the mind and heart of God.

Because experience can be misleading. As with drugs (e.g. LSD), people can experience things which aren't real when they enter certain states of consciousness.
