  • Very beautiful!

  • So beautiful. Thank you

  • I like when a people SAVE THESE traditon. NO MATTER WHICH

  • Thank You for sharing .I feel bad for the people who feel the need to try and upset you with their OPINIONS about filming. You should be proud, and I hope you and your family live long loving lives.

  • @smivloc I'm not offended. If they want to be mad, that's their issue. If they want to complain, they can post their complaints on every.single.video on youtube. So far nothing. I just delete the complaining comments anyway so it doesn't really bother me :)

  • wow

  • thousands of views, how many of them werent from out home??? lol. is uhnii all in HD haha.

  • yes that is my son "nook" thank you for letting me see my boy dance . i never seen him dance before "ME HIM THE BOY"

  • awww this video makes me super proud of being HOPI!

  • If your not Hopi don't respond to this video as if you know what our culture is. Don't tell us what is sacred and what is not. If you "heard" something chances are it's wrong. We Hopi know our customs and what's appropriate and what's not.

  • i have never been to hopi dances but have heard ov there dances and culture and i thought cameras were not allowed

  • @menomz17 usually it means the Kachina Dances and other dances like snake, basket, and flute dance... social dances like this are ok...but i only film if my family is taking part!!!!

  • @menomz17 they arnt allowed on certain dances

  • is that nook?

  • be proud !

  • @jmg1957 I am! So proud! :)

  • @rlb95376 .i am also very proud

  • FACT: It maybe a social dance but cameras are still a no no, as well as telling ppl if you are taking part, its a shame how who ever recorded this is trying to basterdize the Hopi culture. i say this out of great respest for the Hopi ppl, kaquie

  • @mantone187 It's not "bastardizing" such a horrible word. But thanks for your concern as you are entitled to your own opinion. Have a nice day :)

  • @mantone187 I mean no offense by this but if you are against the filming of the dances, why are you watching the videos on YouTube?

  • isn't this dance very sacred? I was taught all the ceremonies are sacred and should never be recorded. I do not understand why someone would disrespect the ceremony and tribal customs.

  • @terrafirma666 They are. However, this is a social dance for everyone to see. Non-natives I see alllllllll the time at these dances and recorded by fellow Hopi's all the time. If you don't understand, I recommend you post your comment on all the Hopi Social dance videos on youtube. It's only right if you don't agree. Thank you for your concern.

  • Big hi from Moenkopi!

  • @oozer23 Hello! :)

  • @DeathShamans Normally, it's the men who sing about 90% of the time. The women have their own society where they sing.

  • This Is A Cool Onee! Never Seen This Kind Of Dance Beforee!

  • @hopiboy12 This is a different version of butterfly. It's called Wuyak'voli (sp?)

  • That young man can certainly dance well. It is good to see such enthusiasm and precision. Someone tell him to keep it up, and learn as much as he can. He is to be a great one.

  • @beanNronin Thanks so much! It means more as he's one of my little brothers. :)

  • I always watch this video or listen to it, to remind myself of who I am. The most beautiful thing created from a drum, bells, rattles & voices.

  • @ChiefBully I agree, especially when you're not feeling youself, just listen to the songs and you'll feel much better. Atleast I do!

  • Beautiful!

  • This is amazing!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • I like the fact that your support your family saying that "your so proud of them". I am LDS (Mormon) and know that when my family participate in sacred ceremonies I am very proud of them as well. I love watching these Hopi dances and ceremonies. My uncle served an LDS mission in AZ among the Hopi 55 years ago and speaks so highly of them. Beautiful Dance, very powerful. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Thanks for watching!

  • where is the second part?

  • I didn't record it. Sorry!

  • Juss cute!!(:

  • @PumkinPieLvr its not cute it is a tradition

  • LOL I just wanted to thank you rlb95376 for posting your dances, i wish i could make it out to your area but im kind of close being from Laguna Pueblo, i know for some of our feast days its awesome to see some of the Hopi dancers come and bless us. Thanks again and be strong!

  • You're welcome! Glad you liked it!

  • this vid. is pretty cool. Im 23 im Navajo Apache an a lil Zuni but I speak Navajo and know my tradition and love it. i also feel a little connection with the pueblo ppl. i like watching these Hopi dances that are put up on youtube. An i feel a real connection to the ppl. One time i had a dream of one of the Hopi mesas an looked it up an come to find out it was the same mesa i had in my dream. Hmm what does that all mean???

  • thee qirlsz looxcksz like da buffalo dance qirlsz just without da crown nd add da white moccasinsz nd add masompies (idk how 2 spell it?) nd there yu qo:))

  • aww hush!

  • why do you post these on here??? its not katsinam but still the same respect should be applied here...we make navajos take down videos that they post dont you think that we should follow our own enforements??? I have family in michigan and when they want to see the dances i email it to them...yeah our ceremonies are for everyone to see but let them feel that power of our ceremonies in person dont post stuff like this online we are Hopi we are supposed to be humble this is showing off not Hopi

  • You just contradictied yourself when you say "our ceremonies are for everyone to see but let them feel that power of our ceremonies in person dont post stuff like this onlin" Then funny you turn around and say you e-mail you family clips of these videos when really they are not there in person to "feel the power of our ceremonies in person"....just saying.

  • I know what you're saying but I think if you're a member of a tribe you have the right to post a video of a dance if you want. It's only wrong if someone without permission were to post one or even video tape it for that matter.

Awesome dance by the way. I just danced in for Pojoaque's Feast Day yesterday. It's a great feeling.

  • Thank you, and yes, I am a member of the Hopi Tribe :o)

  • Did you get permission from your ancestors? From those that taught you the dance? From those who taught them? From each person dancing?

Who gets to give permission? Head of Ceremonies? Governing body put in by the US? BIA/DOI? Grandma? Elder?

  • Actually no, but I like your sarcasm. You should copy and paste your response on all the Hopi videos.

  • Hah! No. But I like your humor. A smile fixes many things.

  • Ha ha haha you can see Josh P.....the whitest one out there!

  • Where lol!

  • Nizho'ni', love it
