Hi everyone, English gal here. I just want you to know how much I love and admire the Australian people, particularly those from Perth. It's not just because most Australians have British like me, it's because you turned a fairly desolate island into one of the most modern and magnificent nations on earth and yet you're not arrogant. The majority of people here in England really love you, regardless of what anyone says. Plus, you're the best in the world at cricket, my favourite sport!
Im went to Perth. The beaches were great. Except I would hate too live there. The beaches will get old and boring. And there will be nothing else to do. I think I will just keep it as a holiday destonation.
My family has lived in Fremantle, Perth for 8 generations :) So happy to have been brought up here. I've been to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and all over Europe and they are all amazing, but Perth is just so unique. Yes, over east has awesome shopping and a great atmosphere, but after a few days in a busy city like Melbourne, I just can't wait to get home to the awesome relaxating feeling Perth has :) Love it, never leaving!
@tarkineWild i wont disagree that there is basically nothing to do here... but after being to all the big cities in america, and a few in europe, there was nothing more satisfying then coming back to perth. You just loose that feeling of hostility.
@tarkineWild AHAHAHA Excuse me if I laugh but... have you saw the rest of the world? I'm lucky and I travel a lot in my job.. and let me say that Perth it's one of the most beautiful city I ever saw. If I'll be lucky on one day i'll come to live there or somewhere in WA :-). Of course there're lots of wonderful places around but WA.. it's simply amazing. G'DAY from Sicily.. I just had my breakfast with vegemite :-)))
I've had the good fortune to travel to many countries and cities throughout the world and like many cities I've encountered ,it lacks soul , history ,culture and sophistication . Sure it has wonderful beahes and people are friendly enough but its sterile and dull I've been twice in the last 5 years for work commitments. but would not go otherwise...
Good choice of condiment for breaky too but Idare you try and convince the locals otherwise lol
This city looks nice only, its a crime city same like melbourne , i was assulted by a native boy on bus 6 months ago, and today 17/5/2011 some one tried to steal my car, he broke the window and lock ignition, it cost me over 1100 $. i am moving to canada forever . and going from Australia with very bad experience, Police is useless.
@lbwhite89 been here for 20 years... only ever had 2 that i recall and they werent at popular beaches.. only because a whale dead whale washed up and attracted a few
Now I'm too old (63) to return to Australia as a permanent resident, since age 45 is the cutoff. Guess they don't want us old Americans utilizing Australia's free universal health insurance - who would want that except the 60 million Americans who have no health insurance? Cold winter days here in NEUSA remind me of why I loved living along the Indian Ocean!
@Laureng1996 Although not there all the time lol. They give you fair warning at patrolled beaches if they're about. If they get too cocky about attacking humans, they're tomorrow's fish and chips
@Laureng1996 i'm lucky but not enoghu.. i got only 3 or 4 hot christmas.. is frezing also at my home.. i come from north Italy :-)... ok is not like london but it's cold
I'm happy to live in Perth.....but if you are coming here from overseas be warned it's very hot from Nov to Feb. Best to come in spring or autumn.....summer is too hot
The water is warm, but it's sending me shivers. A baby is born, crying out for attention. Memories fade, like looking through a fogged mirror Decision to decisions are made and not bought But I thought, this wouldn't hurt a lot. I guess not. Control yourself. Take only what you need from it.
@meninhamorena No, hotest months are dec, jan and feb and the months surrounding are warm too. The only cold months are June, July and August and the months around those can be a bit iffy. But cold isn't so cold here, it can still be 18 or 19 during the day but might make it to 5 in the middle of the night. But summer it can be 40.
@MrFrozenCanuck Be warned though, that the difference in temperature between Canada and Perth from December-February is huge. I understand that a typical Canadian winter is around 20 below 0 degrees Celsius. An average day around the same time would be 32-35 degrees Celsius. For Christmas Day, it wa 40 this year.
This year I spent my second christmas time in perth... believe me.. best place in the world... I wonna live there.. no more snow for me!! i'm looking for a visa!!!
@aerdna1975 Depending on what your skills are, it's a fairly easy process. The Australian Consulate will give you the exact process, but you can either be sponsored by an employer, or make the formal process of applying for a work visa. The only thing you might want to work on, is make sure both your spoken and written English is good.
Another thing you'll notice in Perth, is there's a big Italian and Greek community. If ever you get homesick, just go to Fremantle, Perth's port
@vsboy25 I live in canada, the whole snow thing is overrated. I'd love to go one year without shoveling snow or having to spend five minutes putting extra cloths on so I can walk to the store
We get many Canadian tourists to Australia , you should at least come for a holiday but Canada is a wonderful scenic country an great people.however beware its seriously hot here an we have fly’s everywhere here.
I loved Perth beach...the oceans so crystal clear & the sand is sooooo white & you can go out quite far before it gets deep. (great for the kids) In New Zealand the sand is grey & the sea is dark & murky & has a big drop. & you can collect so many diffenent varieties of sea shells....Awesome!!!!! We felt sad when we had to leave & go home.
@bwfc4eva86: Where you live must be a shithole if it makes Perth seem like a great place. Ive been to Perth, tho nice beach and sun, is the most boring place ive been to with boring racist people.
i dn't think it's scarborough... i mean it looks a lot like scarbs but december 2007...wasn't that massive concrete thingy already built there by then? they wrecked scarbs, it was so beautiful when it was just natural. why do we humans feel the need to industrialize everything
