  • IT'S FAR TOO BIG!!! THE HAWK 4 IS BETTER, ALSO HAS 4 SEATS AND IS SMALLER AND LOOKS BETTER. IT HAS A MORE TRADITIONAL ROTOR (CHEAPER) AND TAKES OFF VERTICALLY JUST AS WELL.

    Am I wrong, rotor is working different then in helicopter?

  • @Kdanren In a gyrocopter the rotor is unpowered in flight. It is tilted back so the air comes up from the bottom to provide lift. What makes the Carter Copter unique is they've figured out how to slow the rotor in flight, getting lift from small wings (not yet added to this prototype), resulting in an aircraft that can take off and land vertically, but is much faster than any other gyro or helicopter.

  • Great to see this bird up-and-flying with jump-takeoff and the one near vertical landing .  My deposit check is in the mail! Suggest a pro cameraman for Phase II test flights.
