  • How about focused practice or practicing with a purpose? Just as he stated "not just screwing around."

  • saw him in abq last semester-william you are a fuc**** MONSTER!!!!

  • This guy is cool.

  • Ok, I feel better now. I have 15 more years to work on Brookland Boogie.

  • his "no pain no gain" comment is totaly true, a fellow student ran into such a problem and ended up a semester behind because of hand problems, due to excesive practice time. good advice!

  • @jacobcs dude its not the excess of practise that ruins your hands, but its the excess of force applied to fret the notes, which is why guitars need to be set up professionally by a luthier.but many people go on playing guitars which are literally unplayable and all they do is destroy the tendons of the hands

  • @MegaAvenger2010 That's not true. Excessive practice can lead to focal dystonia, and it has nothing to do with tendons. It results from screwing up the body mapping of the brain through the kind of everyday hour upon hour practice that classical guitarists do.

  • @MegaAvenger2010 nonsense. Its the 21st century, even the cheapest student guitar from yamaha is set up well enough for basic training. What causes most injuries is not guitars, its the way people use their bodies to play. Bad technique leads to injury. The majority of students play with a lot of force in their left hand thumb, instead of using the weight of the left arm, bent wrists, horrible posture and tension in the right hand because they've been told to chase a fat tone.

  • Very interesting and honest.

  • Very relatable. Thanks for sharing...and nice shirt too
