This was no help whatsoever. You told me where my sits bones should be on the seat, but who doesn't know that already? You can't really talk about proper saddle placment unless you talk about the whole fit, which will be different depending on what type of riding you want to do. So, put my sit bones on the widest part of saddle. Got it. Awesome video. Now edit out 1 minute.
@wajang1000 the're actually focusing on numbers... thousands of videos, some of them redundant in topic, lame quality, quantity only... i found like five good movies from expertvillage in all those years...
@cisco760ca If you mean hardness is uncomfortable, i personally find excessively soft seats difficult/tiring to pedal on 'cause I bounce on them. So I stick to hard seats and get cycling shorts. If you're not racing, it's just personal preference i suppose.
@cisco760ca with road bikes its all about getting your power from your body, to the road. riding more rigid gear is going to transfer more power to the asphalt, bouncing on a nice spongy seat is going to take some of that away.
don't do it. If you are going to buy a road bike for that price, might as well buy something else. If you really want to enjoy cycling, you gotta spend more than 1500 dollars for a really good bike. And about 200 more for the cycling gear.
I don't think that's possible. Maybe an older used one on eBay. The decent stuff starts around $500 from what I've seen. Bikes with Carbon parts start around $600-$700. Buying one used is probably your best bet. Just make sure you get it checked by a pro, since these bikes take a lot of setup to get them to where they're safe and comfortable when being used to the caliber that a road bike is meant for (high speeds, steep inclines, effortless riding effort).
Trek's Madone is top of the line, so of course you'll struggle to get one under 7 grand. You could easily buy a decent Chinese-made road bike for around $700 with Carbon forks and parts, as well as high quality Deraillers and gears. There's really no need to spend over $1800 on a road bike unless you're absolutely serious about biking. Hell, my Fezzari was only $1500 and it's almost all carbon. You'll see that the wheels become your single most expensive component however.
i wanna fit a seat post not buy fucking perfume...

@Pezdetz666 how important are wheels relative to other components, in relation to speed?

There is NO maximum comfort on those
little dinky seats. There's only minimum
discomfort. I've seen some pretty huge
spandex covered hunks of lard swallowing
up those goose jobs. Maybe that's it!
That's how you folks get your jollies.
