  • The time is now. We are the world!

  • Excelente!! esta canción si que me conmueve, un éxito que se queda para siempre en mi corazón, saludos desde Colima, Col. México.

  • Michael Jackson <3 still alive in our hearts xxx

  • 2:25 is Kenny Loggins followed by Steve Perry who was with Journey at the time.

  • Madonna missed out on this version just like lady gaga did on the recent one

  • @iphonefan3000000 Are you comparing Madonna to lady ga ga ,-)

This vid shows how strong the talent was in America in th Eighties and also band aid in England peace ,-)

  • ho is the artist at 2:16?

  • @MrETienneX That would be Bruce Springsteen.

  • @MrETienneX Bruce Springsteen

  • When Steve Perry of Journey kicks in at 2:25, he gives me goosebumps! :)

  • OOOOHHH this song can be awesome

  • Ya know what would be real cool? Have artists from around the world come together and sing this song in thier own languages.

    Example:

Artists from USA, England, Austrialia, and New Zealand sing the opening lines in English

Then fallow with the artists from the French and Spanish speaking countries.

Then artists from Asian, African, and German countries, and so on.

While we're at some some people to do the song in sign laguage for the video.

You all get what I'm say'n?

  • watch?v=K_SiqwGvhng&feature=youtu.be HELP AFRICA

  • I know I'm not the first person to mention this, but who was the guy/gal to say, "Dammit, we NEED Dan Aykroyd for this video!"

  • 2:25 Jesus?

  • so because people was not born yet, do not know some of the singers or was too young to remember there leaving dumb ass comments.

  • Michael jackson is goodlooking here!

  • WHERES FREDDIE?!

  • Comment removed

  • @MisterJimmey Freddie was a Brtion and this song is american

  • Typical yanks, coming to the fight late LOL just kidding, Not a bad effort for a good cause, It does have something that band aid hasn't : YOU CAN PLAY IT ALL YEAR ROUND, Although the band aid crew never had a banquet of lavish food which i thought was in bad taste the Band aid crew just popped out for some chips (Quoted).

  • R.I.P Michael Jackson

  • this made me cry :'(

  • Okay why the hell wasn't Patti LaBelle in this. Nobody knows half of these singers & the other half don't even sound that good. There is about 10 who should actually be in this song. Where is Gladys, Whitney, Aretha & once again PATTI?!?! Diana doesn't even do anything for me, she was just there because Berry Gordy probably wanted her there(LOL).

  • @LaBelleObamafan4life Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Huey Lewis, Stevie Wonder, and Bob Dylan are all excellent singers and they are well known

  • @iamobeliskquake UH well duhhh!. I was saying that most of the singers wasn't. Anybody with sense knows the singers you named are xcellent singers, especially Michael, Stevie, and Bruce.

  • the album says bob geldof was there? but where? and when?

  • For all the warm and fuzzy feelings we get about Live Aid, it's time to face the truth; Live Aid was a complete failure. The entire effort was to raise money for food and medicine for millions of refugees fleeing the wars Communist Ethiopia and their Soviet and Cuban allies were waging in the Horn of Africa. Most of the money raised was stolen by the government, and Ethiopia's dictator fled as he was finally deposed, never to face justice. That's the truth about Live Aid.

  • im only 13, and i love this.

Ive been watching live aid with my mum since i was 5 years old.

  • Best song ever

  • USA for Africa. Freddie wasn't American so why is everyone saying he should have been on it?

  • @ianwilson2007 LOOK AT WHAT IT WAS FOR DUMB ARSE i dont know some people are SO DUMB..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jamlee1970 It was USA for Africa. USA artists raising money for starving Africans. Prick.

  • I think Michael is trying to kill with his perfection <3

and Cindy Lauper looked so cute =3

  • Kenny Loggins IS A VERY ARTIST!! BEAUTIFUL VOICE! 2:19

  • needs Freddie and a few others but great non-otherwise, just don't understand why 97 people would bother to dislike this...

  • who is it with the amazing voice on 2:27?

  • @040324246 Thats Steve Perry of Journey

  • Its also missing elvis and frank sinatra!

  • I was kind of hoping Sprinsteen's head would explode as he took his vocal.

  • @Nigelxman is that a compliment or an insult? if you sing for long enough youre head will explode so youre either saying he is a great singer or that you hate him. if you hate him, then FUCK YOU

  • Cindy Lauper's voice gave me chills. beautiful.

  • was anyone else annoyed by the way Bruce Springteen did his part?

  • This was a great video/song and has a meaning! It is for all people in the world to join together and help those who need it! I was a grown up then and still am. Was not about those singing but as they are USA for AFRICA! IT RAISED MONEY TO HELP AND WAS CALLED CHARITY! Another one was done for Haiti with the earthquake! Get it now???

  • that's absurd. 1. exploit Africa and some other places... 2. make a song for them. or give them some alms.

you are not the world usa + europe... you are bleeding wound of the world since geopraphical explorations & exploiting started. that's how you became rich. yea you are rich but africa is dying. and you know how it happened. funny to watch this. all you do is to pretend as nothing happened.

  • @germiyan80

you don't understand this song at all. It is not literally saying that these singers are the entire world - it is saying that everyone is part of this same world and we should all work together to help one another, including those in less fortunate situations.

  • @secondpost problem is not what singers say. it's just a song. problem is what usa + europeans doing since centuries to africa and some other countries. people dying or killing themselves.it's happening without usa and friend's lands. why ? who exploited and expoiting them ? why did they fight at 1'st world war ? they coudnt share their exploitations. right ? if there is a war anywhere in the world who sells guns to them ? who want them fight just to be more rich. etc. etc. etc.

  • Bruce Springsteen :D

  • Is there Freddie Mercury ? ( and if he is here when ? ) thank you

  • This is the one video that makes me so happy. But so sad that music these days is so poor. Also, Steve Perry is amazing. I just saw journey and they are not the same without him. His voice is soooo unique. I'm obsessed :)

  • one things for sure they dont produce music artists with 10% of this talent any more, and on a personal note cyndi laupher would have got it all ways, what a darling

  • VERY GOOD!!!!

  • This needs 2 things:

    1. More Cowbell

    2. Freddie Mercury

  • @TheYoungstructural

    3. Bob Marley

  • @ThoMarley 4. Annie Lenox

  • @ThoMarley Bob Marley died in 1981, idiot

  • @Lampooz I Know That , But i would be nice if he was in it and you don't need to call me idiot

first of all this is my video & second I know everythinh about Bob Marley , do you even know his real name ?

  • @ThoMarley Bob Marley's real time is Freedie Mercury, do you know Freddie's real name? ;) :p

  • @ThoMarley wasn't is Nesta or something like that? If memory serves correct it was swapped with his middle name Robert

  • @ThoMarley . his full name is robert nesta marley. everybody who knows real music knows that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lampooz lmao hahaha good call

  • @TheYoungstructural 4. Axl Rose

  • @TheYoungstructural perfect things need nothing

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... Freddie Mercury was Persian British. This is USA for Africa!!!

  • @TheYoungstructural

    4.The King , but he died 1972 / 73 ??

  • @wildbessy 73

  • THIS IS A DEMONSTRATION OF PURE HYPOCRISY. FUCK LIVE AID! IT ACTUALLY FUNDED MORE PEOPLE TO BE KILLED THAN SAVED..

  • good luck arranging this today... Live, raw and without any voice enhancement..

  • @kozzaa and your right

  • wow, legends together here--bob dylan, ray charles, stevie wonder, michael jackson!!

  • Gentlemen, BEHOLD! A video from when being famous took TALENT! Isn't it strange and alien?

  • @thatoneguy19911

Amen! Can't sing, no album. Should be a basic rule for music.

  • @thatoneguy19911 yeah back when musicians and singers actually had...GASP!!! TALENT!!! I so remember when this video premiered in 1985 I was 9 years old and we watched it in music class. I remember when radio stations played it and I mean all genre of music stations. I'm sorry but there will never ever be another decade as great as the 1980's were. Did it live up to the hype??? Yeah it did and then some!!!

  • @bobafettfan32 10 years ago they said that about the 1970's

  • 89 people have either no soul or no taste in music.

  • @Kuramalover86 make that 92

  • Quincy Jones; musical genius

  • Underrated in this: Cindy Lauper's voice is perfect for ramping into the main chorus, lifts the spirit of the song from very solemn to and anthem

  • Absolutely wonderful. I watched this live on T.V when i was a teenager, brings back awesome memories

  • @PitchItGirl How the hell did you see that? I had to look twice when I knew what I was looking for! Dang you got good eyes.

  • @PitchItGirl Michael Jackson looks as if he is away from everyone else because he did not like the way he looked in the video. He had his parts edited out and redid them in a studio by himself.

  • now i am speachless... !

  • Einfach nur Hammer Hammer Hammer N1 und Bruce Springsteen ist nach Michael Jackson einfach der Beste R.I.P@Michael
