  • Bravo!

  • Well done I'd say. Technically I'd say there aren't any problems presented to you,but it could do with tighter rhythm, more contrast in the dynamics and it could then move up to the next level. The spirit is there. Well done!!!!

  • Take your kiggywiggy ass back to Uganda. This is SPLENDID! You just have to criticize him while you have no videos of yourself doing a better job? I'm sure he has a TEACHER who could instruct him and doesn't need you telling him HOW to play. He's not playing for YOU.

I would tell off some of the others below, but it's been a year since they put their two cents in. I think people are just jealous because he has talent, and you don't. Now go change a diaper or something.

  • Don't know what your issue is. like I said, Technically there are no problems. It's well done and well played. and besides in his newer version, the things I talk about are all in there, so he's progressed and that's a good thing. Check out too the masterclass Barenboim and Lang Lang, and you'll see where I'm coming from

  • @kiggywiggy i I know where you're coming from: Uganda.

I just don't like it when people can't just appreciate the positive and always have to dwell on one little negative thing that they see in someone's playing. You're no expert and he doesn't need to take advice from you, or any of these morons on utube. That's all I'm saying.

  • currently in the UK, and if you're there too, I'll invite you now to a recital I'm doing in Totnes Devon, 7th Feb St David's church 3 pm. Would love to meet you then and discuss all this further. Piano teaching and performing is what I do, so may not be an expert but I know a bit about it.

There's a lot good in this post, and the speed is difficult to imitate and the arpeggios are brilliant. Like I said before to him, well done!!

  • my favorite!

  • you played too fast in a lot of places

  • a high claim perfection. i happen to like this song and the way it is played here. its pleasant and good, how can someone be so critical of music? nonsense. you did well ytkRiss

  • some technical insecurities, otherewise a very good performance and interpretation

  • nah its quite good

  • O please I didn't have any sucecss? I don't play this sonata but everything I play i play perfect!! I'll never let my self put a video here from me playing anything that has lot of mistakes or its simply NOT perfect. Thats the way I am! I'm listening right now...many mistakes, like im not listening MUSIC but some mashine playing...I would NEVER play somethin that i cant play it on the right way! Sorry but...Lot of work in front of this guy!!!!!

  • you don't HAVE any video..

  • Umm first...Lot of mistakes

secound...where are feelings...ur not a robot u are a person u should feel the music, its not just notes..I agree with fashionista157 more passion... thats all...fix those things. u have a lot of mistakes..practise more.. not a easy sonata u know

  • Shut up, I doubt you could play this, give the kid some respect. I thought he did pretty good. I find that the critics are the ones who never had any success :)

  • hmm...how long u bn playing?

  • ya the ntoes do seem perfect...hmm...mabi its just me (im pretty obsessed with beethoven) but this is played with less passion than I prefer...but ya the notes...wow dude ur impeccable!

  • aah little little mistake bij 7.40 but the rest was perfect

  • there were also 2 around 4:50

  • Loved it.

  • This is also a favorite of mine, and I'd like to learn it...

  • Tempo tempo. Too big a piano. Good technique, good pedal except in the runs. Listen to Arrau, a lot.

  • Are you a student of some music school in America?

  • nope. I'm going to study music in Zurich at the Zurich Music Academy.

  • wow, that is so awesome. I am going to the Royal Music Academy at the end of this year. Maybe I will see you in a competition somewhere. lol

  • Superb and impeccable!

  • You are so AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! I LOVE your playing. Very professional. You must have recordings for sure. Beautifully played; every piece!

You are so wonderful to listen to.

Ooops! A boo boo, but it's still Amazing! It just shows you ARE human after all...

    (^o^)

  • Impressive performance......dramatic......

Brilliant piano too - is it a Bechstein?

  • it's a steinway which was used in the Tonhalle Zurich, so Rubinstein and all the stars were playing on it

  • No wonder the upper notes sounded so good.

I'd kill for a Steinway. I hope I make a lot of money...

  • bad teacher

  • You are SO jealous!

    Idioto.

  • :)you are great

  • Indeed, finaly sombody that can play piano. You should become the new Vladimir Askenazy!!!

  • well done, what a marvelous performance. I know just how demanding this piece can be. Bravo!

  • :O -speechless- God that was so beautiful! XO I'm gonna cry now...*sniff*... you rock :']

  • woo hoo! Nice job man!

  • wow, that was such a great performance!

  • I played this song my senior year in highschool in a recital, i think you played it a lil bit better :) nicely done

  • a notable Professor and painist told me this sonata was played in an empty wrecked house left with a piano during a battle in II world war between russians and germans. A militar officer, entering this house, saw the piano and started playing this incredibile piece and for some minutes all the battlefronts stopped the fire. What a contemporary moment!Well done your interpretation is fantastic. thank you

  • Rent "The Pianist"

  • This is a good movie, but not the appassionata is played but chopins Ballade in g-minor (excerpts).

  • Trillis1-

I had that same problem. The trick is the fingering. There's only one correct way to do it. Try asking a teacher or someone who's played it for it.

  • I just started working on the Appassionata, yesterday... And that scale around 43 seconds or so is so damned hard. >.< I spent 4 hours practicing yesterday, and then 3 today. And still can't get that damn thing. :'(

  • play it slowly... it's the only way!!! ^^ that's what i learned...to scrutinize the notes one by one with a microscope.

  • hä bisch du en schwiizer? :D

  • yeah, I've already checked it :) quite interesting, but I think Lang Lang is an idiot, just as he behaves... He's like a child to me, I don't like him

  • maybe he is, but he led a harsh childhood, and now, he's playing like crazy and I'm sure he never takes anything for granted. I have to give it to him in that aspect at least.

  • you're talking about lang lang? =)

  • yes... =.=*

...sorry if something up there was garbled. ^^*

once, when he was 9 years old, he was late from praticing piano. His already desperate father flew into a rage and told langlang to kill himself, offering langlang either to take poison or jump out of their 11-story window. It was all poverty and an uncertain future that kept langlang going. -.-

  • Very good, there's a Barenboim videon on youtube giving lang lang tips on this peice, I found it interesting, you should check it out.

  • I should check it out as well, but I can't find it, any tips?

  • Youtube appear to have taken down the full thing for some reason, but theres a short 10 minute clip of it if you search "Barenboim discusses lang lang".

Not easy to find, I agree.

Although,,,You are great...Bravo!!!

  • I'm 19 years old now, i was 18 in this performance.

before the Beethoven I played the Grieg Piano Concerto with my school orchestra as a Matura (that's the name of the graduation after 6 years of school) assignment.

yes, believe me there have been already a lot of improvements in the whole sonata since then:)

  • Super playing. Keep with it and do alot of different kinds of pieces. There's room for improvement in the Beethoven but you have something most pianists don't which is absolutely essentiaql for this piece,,, guts!!!

  • how old are you?

  • Good performance. You technique is wonderful. The whole playing is smooth. Must be pretty hard to learn this piece. Wish I can play like you.

  • nais :D

  • I love you Chrischiiiiiiiii

  • Well done. Finally someone who posted something they can actually play. You're lucky to have a concert grand at your school. Use it lots- you won't be there forever.

  • really a very good playing!! congratulations Felicitaciones loco!! suerte felicidades ajajja

  • very good!!wonderful song!!^^

  • that was really well played.

especially from 8mins 11,that was impressive.

  • Hmmm...VERY good performance,Not only a solid technique which is required to perform this tricky sonata right, Also a very good dose of interpretation and musicalitly...which makes a good piece of music outstanding...VERY well done.

  • first of all thanks to you guys ;)

yeah, right after the first movement I learned the third one (now I'm on the second). I performed it only one time... It was quite good, but in the beginning I was so damn fast, I almost messed up. I love this third movement, of course also because of that awsome ending.

I know that the father of a friend recorded maybe two or three minutes of it, when I get it I'll directly upload it.

  • You have a nice way of playing. your right about the chords, but other than that, brilliant. can you play the third movement? id love to hear you play it.

  • beautiful.
