I am very interested in using the pic chuck on some musical instrument projects, but I would need to know if the "pin" has any marring effect on the inside of the piece. Can you see if it deforms the inside of the piece?
Hi I'm very new to turning but have discovered that it's something that I'll do for a very long time. I've been watching your video's and have learned quite a bit. First time I've seen the pin chuck used. Is it something that is used alot or is it a specific use tool?
I made it to make duck call it's not something you will need for turn most projects I was just playing around with it with some small boxes. They do make much smaller pin chucks for making bottle stopper.
@usnglk hey ya um im just replying because i like to help. you dont really need a pin chuck. depends on what your lookingto make.Wood working, i've found out to be a VERY exspensive thing to to but you make the money back from selling your product its a fun thing to do.

As long as it is hardwood it really does not mare the inside at all. On a softer wood it might mark it up a little bit, but nothing substantial.
Thanks,

Another great vid - thanks! Since you're almost out of wax, maybe you can show us what kind you use, and other finishes you like?

Thanks! It's Paste wax & mineral oil. I like a satin finish. I also use bees wax.
