Shit documentry. No mention of their japanese master Maeda, no mention of the legendary Kimura encounter or loss?? Just a whole lot of disrespect and showing off. You never hear the Japanese masters show off like that.
@angellicvoices Remembering the graice family made Master Maeda a succesful business man, when he move to Brazil, because maeda had to move his family out of Japan for safety, not because he wanted too
@1MSA1 !...the gracie family took his family in fed and sheltered them in trade to learn the art... they never forgot there roots, and always respected Maeda throughout the history of gracie. In saying the kimura loss, yes everone loses, you learn from being beat, So in honour of such a great move they name the move after Masahiko Kimura, which Masahiko was honored the Gracie family did this.
Grappleings been round for thousand's of year's. It was just neglected as a form of Real fighting cause evryone thought it was bout stand up. But i doubt ju jitsu would work on the Streets against more than 1 Attacker.
The Gracies are a great family and great business men and promotor/entertainers.
I trained at the GA back in the 90's and it was a great place to learn.
Their style is about self defence if you are attacked on the street... they are not necessarily about winning a gi match.... but more about not getting hit on the ground and either finishing the fight or escaping.
They teach the martial art of GJJ..... not the sport so much.
@tkdrealselfdefense TKD is good only for its fast strikes, in real life if you go against other practitioners of judo/boxing/muay thai/ Bjj and especially wrestling, you are gonna get your ass kicked thrice.
I don't care how you slice it MMA is a GAME it is a contest, with designated rules and allowed and dis allowed moves. Any number of these bullshit submission moves that are pulled in the MMA all the time only work because, groin strikes, eye gauges, biting, head butting, not striking a person with a kick who is on his knees etc.... all these BULLSHIT rules that MMA imposes not only wouldn't work but might like get you killed in the street if you pull them. Go stroke it to your cro crop poster
@bnsaints Ive been in three street fights since ive been practicing jiu jitsu, been training jiu jitsu around six-seven years, I won all three fights thanks to jiu jitsu.
@bnsaints Ha That did honestly crack me up! I like you. Yes i was lucky.. lucky that those pussies didn't know jiu jitsu. i like your style if youre in the SD area lets grab a beer cause im grinning from ear to ear. Not even in a bad way that was super funny.
@RJDeaner Any martial art gives you an advantage over untrained thugs. However, the assumption by most of the BJJ clowns I see on here is that anybody on the street is an inexperience hack as a fighter secondly, I apologize I though you said BJJ. Which is a bullshit half ass bastardization of JJ which has real benefit. I'm sure jj did help you. I have no respect for the BJJ crowd or the gracie bullshit that comes with it
@bnsaints You idiot. In the early UFC's Royce Gracie proved the world in a vale tudo nearly no rules contest. Anyways you are saying that BJJ is shit only because of this bullshit dirty tricks. What do you think will happen if you try to do this once someone mounts you? Not only he will gouge your eyes back, but he will also break your head with some ground and pound and then submit you. These dirty shit will not prevent a takedown and will not help you at all to escape.
@IamVeryFrozen you're a fucking clown, the way you ASSHOLES assume you just take anybody down his hilarious especially when half of you imbeciles can never pull it off in the MMA or UFC with anything remotely resembling consistency. LOL you're all jokes.
@bnsaints It is easy, the more aggressive you are the easier, there are tens of takedowns, and throws. The fucking joke is that you believe everybody in the street will sprawl us and then stomp us. 1. Most people on the street are so foolish they throw haymakers and get easily takendown 2. The double leg takedown is one of many ways to take the fight to the ground. You believe that by using dirty tricks you will beat anyone, dude you are a waking joke. Jiu jitsu is more reliable.
@IamVeryFrozen vs Sevren is your citizen cane film. Almost nothing you idiots do on Showtime or in the MMA gym is effective combat or self defense technique. I don't think people will sprawl you, and your thinking that sprawling is the only way to avoid you idiots is hilarious. By the way hot shot, every cop in america is taught how to blade. In fact apart from the former NCAA wrestlers in MMa the rest of you should be ashamed at your take down technique it is pathetic.
@bnsaints You are asuming a bjj guy will always be in his guard. If he is in the side mount or mount the bjj guy CAN do this to his opponent. Easy, double leg takedown, reach the side mount and knee, stomp him from there. Easy fight ender. Thanks to Jiu Jitsu.
@bnsaints Try to attack the groin from someone's guard, he would gauge your eyes and then lock you in a triangle because by reaching for the groin you put yourself into the triangle setup. GJJ has defenses for stomping and kneeing anyways.
@IamVeryFrozen Typical response from an imbecile who has only trained in BJJ and never fought anybody who isn't a bjj fag. Gracie got the shit stomped out of him by Dan Sevren for 25 minutes. And big Dan just like Gracie DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO THROW OR LAND A FUCKING PUNCH. Otherwise Gracie would have been dog shit. LOL Ground and pound huh, well correct me if I'm wrong there Feder but don't you have to reach back to punch when you do that. Which exposes your ribs, balls etc...
@bnsaints Typical response from a FUCKING IGNORANT that speaks without knowledge. Yeah so you believe your motherfucking BULLSHIT moves will help you escape a dominant position asshole? You underestimate the power of a dominant position. Everything you ATTEMPT to do from that position can easily be done back to you. From the mount I can punish you all day if I want to. You won't escape with dirty bullshit. Instead it could even anger your attacker, and he could kill you.
@bnsaints Royce had severn secured in his guard. You motherfucking ignorant severn did not knock out Royce because Royce had a tight control and a solid punch block series. The only reason Royce tried to punch from there is because Severn hugged him and did not give him the space to work his guard. Guess what? Royce won! Dan severn was strong and really no technique is needed to punch from such position. See? Your arguments were bitch slapped. ALL YOU wrote WAS BULLSHIT.
@IamVeryFrozen The ignorance you demonstrate is laughable. You have never been in a real fight as evidence by your referring to things as "dirty". You're a gym tuff guy and a faggot BJJ fool. It is only considered a dominate position by you imbeciles who practice this phony art. Stop interchanging Jui Jitsu and BJJ as BJJ is made up tv bullshit. And I guess if you can guarantee that a guy will dry hump you with no effect for 20 minutes until you can get lucky and slip in a choke hold then Gracie
@bnsaints Dude I could answer all your ignorant arguments and assumptions right now, but I know you will answer with more BULLSHIT. So as a final question What do you believe in then? What martial art do you rely on in street fights? What is your strategy? How many GJJ takedowns do you know anyway to claim we are lame at takedowns?
@IamVeryFrozen Let me answer you and the imbecilic private message I got. The US ARMY does not use BJJ. It has its OWN systems which incorporate aspects of JJ just like it incorporates aspects of other arts to make an amalgamated system that will work in combat. the mere fact that you say that BJJ is the "best" system shows what an imbecile teenager you are. I feel like when you're not on here you're stroking off to your Bas Ruten poster. There is no "best art" you must be well versed in many
@IamVeryFrozen disciplines to even hope to survive in a real combat situation. BJJ has more drawbacks than positives, its shit that sells pay per view fights it has very little real world application. And the one thing all you fags constant rant about is proven irrelevant instantly. I know all you clowns love to cite what percent of fights end up on the ground. But none of you dicks can understand that that means 100% start off the ground. BJJ offers no fighting skills at all, only ground techs
@bnsaints ONLY GROUND TECHS? What a fucking ignorant you are? Have you ever seen Rorion and Royce's STANDUP self defense DVD's? I know the videos and explanations are crap, but the techniques themselves are present in other arts like Karate.
@bnsaints Have you at least seen the techniques? They teach the policemen to handle aggression without going to the ground at all. The ground stuff is covered just in case. They work the techniques with their police and law enforcement gear.
@IamVeryFrozen most of which would never get applied in the street with no ref and rules and little faggot speedo trucks and queer tap out tattoos and your stupid disco dancing routines everytime one of you assholes walks into the ring. You're all jokes. And Real combat arts professsional like Gene Label and Benny Uriqidez etc... are guys that all your BJJ hero's RAN from or wanted so many bullshit rules imposed that the fights never happened. Cuz the Gracies are snake oil sellers nothing more
@bnsaints You are right gun disarmament techniques only work in the ring, because people bring guns to the ring to defeat people easily. Club disarmament only works in the ring, because bjj guys go around with clubs in the ring to rape other men. Your ignorance is laughable fag, of course the techniques presented work in the street. Ground techniques would work too. If for some reason you were taken down and someone mounted you. Trap and roll, place hand cuffs. Job done! SEE?
@IamVeryFrozen BJJ has been proven over and over to be ineffective. In fact the only place it works is this UFC crap jj and judo have been around for centuries and the aspects of those arts combined with the ability to strike are great BJJ is a ground ONLY based art and it is crap plain and simple
@bnsaints I can see you are not willing to change your mind. You lack humility sir, you cannot face the fact that your statements are WRONG. Dude I gave you proof, but you insist with the same crap. Sorry for you dude, hopefully one day you will discover you are an idiot and become a GJJ student.
@IamVeryFrozen You gave no proof just more of the same tired MMA crowd nonsense. Whats the matter are you bored, run out of Tap Out tee shirts to iron. Maybe you're sitting there watching Chris Cyborg fights fantasizing about her dick popping out of her trunks. You guys are all the same.
@IamVeryFrozen not interested. I have trained in MA for 20 years and had multiple occasions to train with real Special Opts people, cops, ex SS etc... none of them place any merit on this shit as the be all art. They use limited techs from it thats all
@bnsaints Now what I am watching a GJJ guy conducting a study, he is fighting people of other arts including JJJ, boxing etc. The fights are NOT FIXED, because you powerful blows and even knees to the body or head. Guess what? GJJ all the way.
@ There are millions of people who would disagree. A ton of their video fights look faked and contrived. Don't fool yourself, Rorion Gracie is a lawyer who knew how to craft this bullshit snake oil of an art into an empire. Look at the first UFC with guys tapping out seconds into the match with no damage or holds being applied, look at their phony challenge videos, look at them refusing challenges from Gene Label and Benny the Jet and look at how strictly GJJ guys are getting pounded in the UFC
@bnsaints I do not understand why UFC 1 could have been fixed. Ken Shamrock broke somebodies ankle in that UFC. Royce won by positional dominance in the first match,(told you the mount is powerful) that guy accepted he could not escape and was doomed and tapped. The other two matches Royce won by rear naked choke. I have seen some challenge videos and you see real punches there by both fighters.
@bnsaints strictly GJJ guys lose in the UFC TODAY because everyone has knowledge of GJJ in their style so everyone knows it and if you stick to one martial art versus that martial art + more then your bound to lose. If someone today came into the UFC trying to fight Royce as just a boxer then he would immediately throw him down and submit him just like anyone else, but if Royce were to fight lets say GSP hed get fucked up because he's a master of both BJJ and multiple striking arts.
@wisdom261 I'm not 100% sure but Im pretty sure those are hybrids of jiu jitsu with wrestling and some kind of striking. But anyway even if it is strictly grappling, the fighters that train in these that get anywhere ALSO practice other arts such as muay thai or boxing. I'm going to try to make it simpler. BJJ > Other arts by themselves (this can vary depending on skill level), BJJ by itself < BJJ + Other arts because they have jiu jitsu AND other styles in their arsenal.
I will never understand why people are so disrespectfull......
It's totall bullshit all this dirt-talking...
I practise bjj cause I like ground-fighting.
So....I like wrestling, sambo and judo just as much and everyone knows cross-training seems to be the best. But calling the techniques ineffective is just stupid!!!!
I'd Helio Gracie improved/modified Jujitsu to fit his body type and fighting method; but he clearly did not "invent a new style" as he claimed here. Regardless, he was a beast and that cannot be denied. But there should be zero credit for inventing BJJ. There is no such thing as BJJ. If you call it BJJ then everyone else can call it whatever JJ they want, which gets kind of redundant and out of whack!
This is bullshit. Don't deny your history Helio. Your art isn't made up from scratch. You was taught by your brother, who was taught judo by Maeda. Not even mentioning that you got F*ed Up by Kimura? Draw against Kato?
It's funny how this documentary doesn't mention Helio's fight with Masahiko Kimura (Judoka). Watch the fight on youtube you'll see Helio get tossed around like a rag doll.
I love BJJ as much as anyone as i am a 5 year practitioner of the art and am ranked as a purple belt. However, one thing i hate is the Gracie's assumption that BJJ is the most "Complete" form of Martial art as Rorion himself says at the 4:45 mark of the video. BJJ is limited as is every other Martial Art. It has weaknesses like every other Martial art. If your Martial does not focus on punches, kicks, knees, elbows and other aspects of other Martial arts, guess what? THAT'S A WEAKNESS.
Why didn't that helio monkey tell us how Masahiko Kimura snapped his arm and choked him out in 3 mintues? Gracies are such scum. Always an excuse when they lose. Kimura could have killed Helio. Instead, he humilated him. 2:00 there is the real man. Not that dirtbag helio.
@2431346 Maeda taught them Kano Jigoro's Jiu Jitsu. Once Maeda died, they put their names all over it & made $ off it. They apparently charged a good amount to teach Maeda JJ. Fortunately, there was another Maeda JJ black belt that spread the art without making large profits. His name was Oswaldo Fadda. I agree with u the Gracies are scum! Example: what royce did to Jason Delucia's arm after Delucia tapped. Another exmple renaming the art to Gracie Jiu Jitsu after Maeda's death! Very ungrateful!
I think any of the experts on here should just go to the Gracie Academy, challenge Rener, Ryron, or Ralek, and post back on your experience. It seems like all you guys out there are experts who have been in all kinds of challenge matches in the Marine Corps, on the street, in your backyard, against Kimbo Slice, etc....If you have so much experience then you should easily defeat those guys.
@ghettomav619 And where did he get his samples from? How the fuck did he come up a thousand fight samples? How did he get the recorded data? A study of that sort is like trying to figure out if more men eat soup before digging into the main course or the other way around. Get educated, you BJJ fetish motherfucker. Here is a lil' battle experience from the Marine Corps, in real combat you better be on your fucking feet.
@Voodoofreak35 Also no martial art is completely effective against multiple opponents, because if one person is a treat, multiple are a multiple treat. Even if you stay standing up you will still get beaten and the irony is that they will throw you to the floor and break your bones there. Best defense against multiple opponents: Run or attack and run. Same for armed opponents run or give them your money. If you can't escape use a gjj weapon defense and escape.
@ghettomav619 Ground fighting is good in the ring on soft mats one on one. In real combat, it's usually many against one on rough grounds with sharp objects around the floor. Try getting sit-out power bombed on concrete floor thinking you've already gotten used to getting slammed in the ring. Go ahead and do what most BJJ dudes do in competitions where they climb onto another man like he's trying to have sex with the opponent thinking there is no sharp metal for ur enemy to drop you on!
@Voodoofreak35 Man bjj is not all about competition. That is why the Gracies HATE the sport orientation that is growing in the bjj community. Of course they totally discourage throwing yourself on top of someone like that! That is why I train in Gracie combatives which is 100% street. If you do jiu jitsu correctly your opponent has the highest chances of getting hurt. With a takedown, a sweep which hurt a lot in the mat for the bad guy imagine in the street.
@ghettomav619 I am big fan of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as well and definitely have a lot of respect for the ones who innovated traditional Japanese Judo. But I will tell you this much. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is decent, but it's only a part of a bigger picture. It's not enough. Don't dis your local Karate sensei and certainly do not dis some Tai Chi master. Bruce Lee would knock you out so quick you don't even remember ever crouching down to shoot for a double leg takedown.
@Voodoofreak35 ok b4 you call me uneducated, where did u see me dis any other martial art. you didnt. I love Kung Fu, I think wrestlers are badass, and I want to learn Tae kwon Do and Capoeira. and why do military always insist on "wont work in battle!.. im a marine blah blah blah"...of course it wont work in a battle situation you fuck, im talkin about street fights. The 72% was come up from 300 fights. Out of the 300 fights 72% ended up on the ground whether it was both of the fighters or one.
@Voodoofreak35 ....and what are the chances of someone in a street fight being a 5th degree black belt in Choy Le Fut Kung Fu??? very slim. Yes Bruce Lee would knock me out, but no thats not realistic. Im talkin about a fight that would happen on average day where some cracked out fuck got mad cuz u said hi to his wife.
@ghettomav619 The same lethal habitual thinking of "let's just punch and kick and enjoy an epic win" has started to grow within the post-modern new age BJJ vale tudo community in the form of the reasoning of "screw boxing and kicking and just shoot for a double leg takedown and finish the epic win with an armbar on soft mats in an one on one ring fight".
@ghettomav619 While you are at it, on here search "Sambo vs BJJ"(the 2004 New York meet) and go watch how terrible those BJJ guys' wrestling and throwing skills are. It just goes on to show how training solely in BJJ can give you lethal habits of thinking that every fight will have to take place on the ground. One Sambo dude in the competition slammed the BJJ dude so hard he couldn't get up to continue his FIRST ROUND.
MMA is an old idea it didnt come from the Gracies I train at Gracie Barra and love jiu jitsu but Pancrase was around before UFC the Japanese Chinese and Greeks have been blending standing and ground fighting for thousands of years Americans generally are ignorant to most things international or if its not on tv then knowone knows but i love jiu jitsu i have wrestled and did sport karate since i was very little the sport of MMA isnt Combat true combat has no rules
@vegasflava101 Gracie jiu jitsu from the Gracie academy is made for the street, compared to most MMA schools which teach fancy moves but forget about the basic yet very effective moves of Gracie jIU JITSU. Agreed with your facts, however the Gracies began with the UFC and made the term "MMA" popular.
Hal said Steven Segal was getting worked back then. Al Bundy is good and has been doing this for a long time also. Ask the Gracies Hal Faulkner they trained him
There are family stories Hal would not back down from multiple guys in Philly all the time calling people out. Never starting shit but if people were acting like assholes Hal would let them know right away. So many family pictures of him sculpting coins of ex presidents and the first ladies, meeting them. He was also into photography and that is why he was in Germany for a year or two, not to sure what the work was. Hal Trained with the Gracies back in the day. He left most of his fam in Philly
Hal Faulkner is my dads uncle. He left philly and moved to Cali a long time ago. My dad tells me stories when he was living with Hal in Germany. Hal was a sculpture as well as a student of Bruce lee's first student. Their is a cool ass picture on the internet if you Google Hal Faulkner bjj or Hal faulkner with the Gracies. The pic is like 7 Gracies and one white guy who looks like Liam Neeson (Hal). He would run around the block in Germany and Philly with nunchucks. They say he was good with em
@ before commenting on ignorance it would be wise to know the spelling is actually you're not your, dumb ass. Bjj is a sham, it's not effective outside of BJJ contests or MMA/ UFC bullshit, engineered, hyped contests. I give the Gracie family credit, they're the snake oil sales men of the 20th century. They have faked or engineered every "contest" in their dojo's with their rules and requirements, and they have sold the world on the notion their bjj is the new wonder art, good for them. Blow me
@bnsaints You certainly don't know the Gracie Academy, self defense oriented. That is why the crappy bjj oriented schools give false arguments against the Gracies, to people that watch lame mma matches were the "grapplers" just do fancy moves that don't work on the street. Dude the Gracie challenge was made in agreement between the challenger and the Gracie, no fixed fights.
@IamVeryFrozen The "gracie challenge" lol I know, those old grainy videos shot in Brazil with all these no name unknown "martial arts experts" lol you fucking clown, this system is the biggest sham out there
@simmo19 Are you crazy? There is no one "super" art that is better than all the others. Secondly this shit only works in crappy MMA fights with rules. I have never seen a bjj guy actually win a street fight and in fact have actually seen a bouncer who ran his mouth and who I know from seeing him train is a bjj practitioner get shit stomped in a street fight trying this shit. BJJ sucks, as it assumes that all these moves and take downs will automatically work on an "untrained " person. Bullshit!
@bnsaints You don't even know about us don't you. Your only argument is attacking the credibility of the proof made by the Gracies. The Gracie challenge also took place in the US, they never claimed that the challengers were experts they simply were open to any challenges made by anyone. The reason you don't see BJJ guys win fights is because we don't go around trying to show we are strong and can beat up people. Anyways that bouncer you definitively mention had no idea of what he was doing.
@bnsaints Suck my dick idiot, Gracie Jiu Jitsu is the best self defense art, you probably are an idiot behind the keyboard, that believes he is cool because he can throw a haymaker.
@IamVeryFrozen Do you understand how monumentally stupid you come across by saying Gracie Jiu Jitsu is the BEST defense art? I mean that statement is so foolish I don't have enough band width to list the reasons why it is so dumb. Also what you and the other 15 yr Tap Out T-shirt wearing MMA retards call Gracie Jiu Jitsu has NEVER been tested as a self defense are. Not in combat not in the street. But in dojos in Rio and stupid pay per view TV events. You'r a clown for even claiming otherwise!
@bnsaints Dude remember that not all schools focus on the self defense aspects of the fight. They teach people sportive moves like the butterfly guard or others that don't work in a street fight. Every Gracie Jiu Jitsu move is based on leverage and works in the street.
@IamVeryFrozen Dude lol these challenges have been prove to be SHIT. As in fake, made up, set up, staged etc... These bjj guys are getting their asses kicked in MMA which is an of itself is garbage. I know all about Gracie JJ and its a con job. Go play with y0ur purple belt you dork.
@bnsaints Proven by who? First you tell me challenges only took up in Brazil, and now you tell me there is proof the challenges were fake when you did not even know of challenges in the US. Be telling me I am a dork you begin to show your inmature behavior in which you try to sound convincing. You are also giving me no proof. You keep repeating yourself also about bjj guys in MMA in which most cases really are garbage. You have no proof against Gracie Academy either.
@bnsaints You besides only reapeat yourself "I know bjj is a scam" I have proof. However you cannot prove my arguments wrong. You only speak with words, give me facts. Search for a Gracie Academy purple belt and tell him that in his face. Lets see if you type as fast as you can defend a takedown or clinch. Lets see how funny the rear naked choke is. Dude if you are going to comment at least have good arguments.
@IamVeryFrozen do me a favor dork, name one, ONE of these "experts" in these videos. Then explain why the Gracie pussies refused challenges or to schedule fights by both Gene Label and Benny Uriquedez? Go play with your gay blue gee and your fairy purple belt.
@bnsaints Do me a favor stop saying bullshit because you are actually insulting people that are much less cowards than you hiding behind a keyboard. First the Gracie challenge was an open challenge in which every "dork" like you said that believed Gracie Jiu Jitsu was not worth it and got choked and slapped in the head. An example of an expert Jason Delucia and if you still believe the Gracies refuse fights with experts, then watch the first UFC's. (1-5).
@IamVeryFrozen Jason Delucia expert huh. what a fucking tool you are. another 15 yr old kid who drank the cool aide and wants to blow anybody named gracie what a jerk you are.
@bnsaints What a stupid ignorant you are I give you my arguments and you keep repeating yourself with factless arguments and by disregarding my arguments and of the Gracies. Even a 10 year old can debate better than you. Just watch UFC and admire the power of Royce Gracie. Tell this arguments direct to the Gracies Idiot. You also drink your own keyboard kool aid, you don't even believe what you are saying bastard. Go fuck with your keyboard man, I am tired of you.
@IamVeryFrozen That's because you're a pussy. I have no angst about any BJJ tool. I'll tell you what if I'm already face down and a bjj guy jumps on my back as I lie there sleeping I might be afraid of getting "choked out" lol but until then you and all your homo blue gee wearing sissies can suck my ass until you hit mud. Go jerk off to a Overeem posture you pederast.
@bnsaints You're a fucking Idiot, im sure you have never fought a real fight in your life..and if you think that MMA is not real because of rules and that shit would never work on the streets then I would love for you to fight a pro fighter on the street and see what kind of bullshit you think you know....and when your through getting out of the hospital I would like a formal apology for the entire BJJ and MMA community saying how much cock you would rather suck then to talk shit again
@Pl Do all you MMA BJJ fags get the same handbook or something? Christ I could set a watch to the pathetic, repetitive, standard response all you clowns offer. In point of fact it is more likely that you SPORT fighters in MMA & BJJ have never been in a REAL fight. A situation that I unfortunately have been in many times. Your bullshit, triangle jokes and gogo this and omoplata that and kimura bullshit, any of which can be ended with any number of moves not allowed in your matches
@PlayGuard4Lif3 Why argue with idiots? BJJ have already been proven to be the most effective martial art in hand to hand combat. No need to reason with retards really.
@PlayGuard4Lif3 mma is not a real streetfight but striking, wrestling and grappling are a huge part of real streetfighting but the mma event is not street combat
@SuperTestfreak I wasn't saying it was but just because there are rules in a mma event dosent mean that those pro fighters are limited to those same rules in a street fight. They can pull hair, kick you in the balls, bite, ect, just has much as the normal retard on the street that wants to start shit with a pro fighter
@RJStevens1 Go cry you pussy, and all you Gracie JJ kool aide drinkers. They built a fake empire, I give it to them, they were marketing geniuses. They sold a quasi art form with limited practical applications and success and made people think they were the best. That takes skill and I do give them credit for it. But the bottom line is the "art" is very limited in its practical ability and application. So blow me you douchebag.
@LJSJIUJITSU to disrespect it one would have to respect it in the first place. The only place this GARBAGE works is in sport like MMA or UFC ie GAMES, not real life.
@ImperialDecree Kimura never broke Helio Gracie arm he actually used the famous Kimura armlock that the Gracie family now use to beat him, and that was only because Gracie had never seen it before. He also gave away 70lb in weight. The gracie family have never hidden from a defeat because winning wasn't and still isn't their main focus, the true Gracie JJ is for street defense and has been proven to beat every other MA in the world.
You haters should do some research before making silly posts
@2Vfam Hal Faulkner always was about the street fight. the real fight. My dad and uncle respected Hal when he was in Philly. He is my dad's uncle. They tell many stories of Hal beating people up and not backing down from multiple guys. My uncle tells a story about some guys stole all his papers on his paper route and he told Hal. Hal put my uncle in the car and told my uncle to point out the guys who did it. My uncle was so scared of what Hal would do, they drove by and didn't point them out
Google Hal Faulkner bjj or Hal Faulkner Gracies and you will see a pic of Hal with like 7 or 8 Gracies. The only one I recognize is a young Renzo Gracie and Hal who looks a little like Liam Neeson in the picture. Hal was a bad ass dude. Trained like a animal before people knew anything about MMA. UFC never exsisted at the time. Hal trained with Bruce Lee's first student. Sculpture Photographer BJJ street fighting all right down Hal's ally.
I have been doing it for the past 5 years, i am a purple belt & it has changed my life. But BJJ is by no Means a "Complete" Martial Art. Every Single Martial art has weaknesses. If anything, what MMA has shown is that it has now become the most "Complete Martial Art" available because it stresses the need to strike, grapple and Submit opponents. If BJJ was the most "complete" form of Martial art, one could walk into an octagon TODAY with just BJJ and be a champion or dominate MMA fighters.
@kanguesso i've been doing it for a year now still white, i feel im getting stronger ( better) by the day. it has completely changed my life too. but yea i see that in MMA bjj alone wont get the job done. but if they have a bit of experience at least they have an idea. all champs have bjj black belts. the thing about bjj that is so good is the point system in has. if u get mount , side control, back, knee on belly, ur not just in good submission position ur also in excellent striking position
@kanguesso >If BJJ was the most "complete" form of Martial art, one could walk into an octagon TODAY with just BJJ and be a champion or dominate MMA fighters.
Back in the time of early UFCs, when it was single-dimensional fighting - it worked!
@kanguesso Wrong man, the issue is that MMA benefits strikers because you get points for punching. Royce vs Severn, if it was an MMA match Severn would have won, because of points and time limits, however since at that time time limits were non existant Royce won with a triangle choke. A fundamental principle of BJJ is patience.
@dothelevi yes and now the kimura is a big part of the BJJ game. when something works, they use it. Thats why GSP takes people down and ground grapples for 5 rounds. Because that way, the odds are on his side so its not a 50 50 chance of getting knocked out by trading punches. and NO martial art can fully prepare you for 4 or 5 guys effectively, even if they claim they can. in that situation, you are better off running or trying to talk your way out.
if a BJJ dude was to fight someone who is a skilled striker and the strikier kicked him in the head of in the ribs the striker just caused serius damage. and no most fights dnt end up in the ground, jst ppl who dnt know how to balance and throws punches, its good to learn how to fight on ground but learn how to not fight in the ground to begin with learn how to not get into the ground to begin with. true?
gracie jujutsu is awesome but when rorion gracie said that other martial arts dont have the complete approach and saying the gracie jujutsu do, i disagree bcoz all they focus on is grapplling and throws so they dont have the complete approch too, what about striking? although some may disgree with me striking is pretty important in your arsenal, they can cause serious damage in a fight i hit on the head could knock out.
@dothelevi The Gracies believe that although striking is useful, they are a waste of energy unless you are setting something up with them. We focus on conserving our energy and letting our opponent strike so that he runs out of energy and becomes easier to submit. In the stand up game we use strikes to fool our opponents and setup a technique.
everyone says the flaw with BJJ is you can only fight one guy at a time. But honestly, lets be realistic. Even a season muay thai striker could only take on 2-4 guys at a time, and thats if hes AMAZING. Don't believe the crap in the movies. BJJ is known as one of the most effective martial arts in the world for a reason
@OCleftyDude yeah but you wouldnt be doing a freaking armbar on one person while the other guy is kicking your head in. you'll be smashed! learn to grapple, throw and strike not just bjj. and the only martial i can think of that has great self defence technique is JAPANESE JUJUTSU and HAPKIDO. JAPANESE JUJUTSU practices on defending yourself against 5+ ppl. well i know one school that does.
@dothelevi This isn't hollywood you jackass. You are NOT going to defend yourself against five guys unless they are either raging alcoholics or hopped up on LSD. On the other hand I know a great way to fend off multiple attackers.. buy a semi-automatic weapon.
@dothelevi How do you even come up with shit like that you sick freak? I'm talking about martial arts and the first thing you think about is masterbating to your own mother. You have some serious deep-seated emotional issues and I'm not going to lie to you... I think it would be best if you just killed yourself right now.
@jonjon1189 ok i admit i was being a dick with me telling you to wank about your mom LOL but if you wanna tok serios about martial arts then ok.
first of all figihting five people isnt hollywood ive witness heaps of people getting bashed by 5 people sometimes even more and there not high or drunk. so it is realistic and secondly i gracie jujutsu or brazilian juijitsu is great but its not the complete art or complete approach, there focus is a lil biton takedowns and mostly on groundwork.
@dothelevi Yes, but we do have a lot of throws too, we focus mostly on groundworks ,because things get complex once whe reach the ground and because most of the time it is our objective in a fight.
@jonjon1189 they dnt have stirkes or any standup fighitng, gracie jujutsu is good for a one on one combat, so theres a flaw however other martial arts like JAPANESE jujutsu or karate its not only one on one combat but it can be also used to defend urself against 2 or more people. thats all. i respect gracie jujutsu i reckon there a genuis with their submission skills but yeah thats what i think i jst disagree with rorion i dont think its a complete approch to real situation. ps ur a jackass
@dothelevi this is the same question i ask everyone else.. if your attacked by 5 people.. what happens if one of them knows how to grapple?
And gracie jiu jitsu is a complete art. They teach you every aspect of a fight and how to defend against it, then quickly and efficiently win it. I believe that's what Rorion means... and I don't understand this war between jjj and bjj... i thought they were the same thing, but bjj has thousands of extra little technical details.
@jonjon1189 if one of them knows how to grapple punch them in the face before they catch you?? dont get grappled to begin with??? and you woundnt wanna grapple someone when they got 4 people with them like your not gonna do an armbar on one person while the other 4 guys kicks you in the face? you'd wanna strike and BJJ dont teach that? do you know what i mean now? btw BJJ has more techniques and skills in ground work but not as many throws or takedowns in JJJ or in JUDO.
al bundy is a bad ass lol

Shit documentry. No mention of their japanese master Maeda, no mention of the legendary Kimura encounter or loss?? Just a whole lot of disrespect and showing off. You never hear the Japanese masters show off like that.
angellicvoices 1 month ago
@angellicvoices Remembering the graice family made Master Maeda a succesful business man, when he move to Brazil, because maeda had to move his family out of Japan for safety, not because he wanted too
1MSA1 4 weeks ago
@1MSA1 !...the gracie family took his family in fed and sheltered them in trade to learn the art... they never forgot there roots, and always respected Maeda throughout the history of gracie. In saying the kimura loss, yes everone loses, you learn from being beat, So in honour of such a great move they name the move after Masahiko Kimura, which Masahiko was honored the Gracie family did this.
1MSA1 4 weeks ago
Grappleings been round for thousand's of year's. It was just neglected as a form of Real fighting cause evryone thought it was bout stand up. But i doubt ju jitsu would work on the Streets against more than 1 Attacker.

Also I forgot to say they are even better Martial artists/fighters... it all started with them.... its easy to forget this.
truemanc 1 month ago
The Gracies are a great family and great business men and promotor/entertainers.
I trained at the GA back in the 90's and it was a great place to learn.
Their style is about self defence if you are attacked on the street... they are not necessarily about winning a gi match.... but more about not getting hit on the ground and either finishing the fight or escaping.
They teach the martial art of GJJ..... not the sport so much.
They are a very close family.

Go stroke it to your cro crop poster

@bnsaints What about the first ufc's and vale tudo?
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints You idiot. In the early UFC's Royce Gracie proved the world in a vale tudo nearly no rules contest. Anyways you are saying that BJJ is shit only because of this bullshit dirty tricks. What do you think will happen if you try to do this once someone mounts you? Not only he will gouge your eyes back, but he will also break your head with some ground and pound and then submit you. These dirty shit will not prevent a takedown and will not help you at all to escape.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen you're a fucking clown, the way you ASSHOLES assume you just take anybody down his hilarious especially when half of you imbeciles can never pull it off in the MMA or UFC with anything remotely resembling consistency. LOL you're all jokes.
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints It is easy, the more aggressive you are the easier, there are tens of takedowns, and throws. The fucking joke is that you believe everybody in the street will sprawl us and then stomp us. 1. Most people on the street are so foolish they throw haymakers and get easily takendown 2. The double leg takedown is one of many ways to take the fight to the ground. You believe that by using dirty tricks you will beat anyone, dude you are a waking joke. Jiu jitsu is more reliable.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen vs Sevren is your citizen cane film. Almost nothing you idiots do on Showtime or in the MMA gym is effective combat or self defense technique. I don't think people will sprawl you, and your thinking that sprawling is the only way to avoid you idiots is hilarious. By the way hot shot, every cop in america is taught how to blade. In fact apart from the former NCAA wrestlers in MMa the rest of you should be ashamed at your take down technique it is pathetic.
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints You are asuming a bjj guy will always be in his guard. If he is in the side mount or mount the bjj guy CAN do this to his opponent. Easy, double leg takedown, reach the side mount and knee, stomp him from there. Easy fight ender. Thanks to Jiu Jitsu.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints Try to attack the groin from someone's guard, he would gauge your eyes and then lock you in a triangle because by reaching for the groin you put yourself into the triangle setup. GJJ has defenses for stomping and kneeing anyways.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen Typical response from an imbecile who has only trained in BJJ and never fought anybody who isn't a bjj fag. Gracie got the shit stomped out of him by Dan Sevren for 25 minutes. And big Dan just like Gracie DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO THROW OR LAND A FUCKING PUNCH. Otherwise Gracie would have been dog shit. LOL Ground and pound huh, well correct me if I'm wrong there Feder but don't you have to reach back to punch when you do that. Which exposes your ribs, balls etc...
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints Typical response from a FUCKING IGNORANT that speaks without knowledge. Yeah so you believe your motherfucking BULLSHIT moves will help you escape a dominant position asshole? You underestimate the power of a dominant position. Everything you ATTEMPT to do from that position can easily be done back to you. From the mount I can punish you all day if I want to. You won't escape with dirty bullshit. Instead it could even anger your attacker, and he could kill you.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints Royce had severn secured in his guard. You motherfucking ignorant severn did not knock out Royce because Royce had a tight control and a solid punch block series. The only reason Royce tried to punch from there is because Severn hugged him and did not give him the space to work his guard. Guess what? Royce won! Dan severn was strong and really no technique is needed to punch from such position. See? Your arguments were bitch slapped. ALL YOU wrote WAS BULLSHIT.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints Yes I have fought several douchebags, that believe that can beat people up with headlocks and punches.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen The ignorance you demonstrate is laughable. You have never been in a real fight as evidence by your referring to things as "dirty". You're a gym tuff guy and a faggot BJJ fool. It is only considered a dominate position by you imbeciles who practice this phony art. Stop interchanging Jui Jitsu and BJJ as BJJ is made up tv bullshit. And I guess if you can guarantee that a guy will dry hump you with no effect for 20 minutes until you can get lucky and slip in a choke hold then Gracie
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints Dude I could answer all your ignorant arguments and assumptions right now, but I know you will answer with more BULLSHIT. So as a final question What do you believe in then? What martial art do you rely on in street fights? What is your strategy? How many GJJ takedowns do you know anyway to claim we are lame at takedowns?
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen Let me answer you and the imbecilic private message I got. The US ARMY does not use BJJ. It has its OWN systems which incorporate aspects of JJ just like it incorporates aspects of other arts to make an amalgamated system that will work in combat. the mere fact that you say that BJJ is the "best" system shows what an imbecile teenager you are. I feel like when you're not on here you're stroking off to your Bas Ruten poster. There is no "best art" you must be well versed in many
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints However they train in army combatives which is similar to Gracie combatives of GJJ and also use the special Gracie stuff I told you.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen disciplines to even hope to survive in a real combat situation. BJJ has more drawbacks than positives, its shit that sells pay per view fights it has very little real world application. And the one thing all you fags constant rant about is proven irrelevant instantly. I know all you clowns love to cite what percent of fights end up on the ground. But none of you dicks can understand that that means 100% start off the ground. BJJ offers no fighting skills at all, only ground techs
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints ONLY GROUND TECHS? What a fucking ignorant you are? Have you ever seen Rorion and Royce's STANDUP self defense DVD's? I know the videos and explanations are crap, but the techniques themselves are present in other arts like Karate.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints Have you at least seen the techniques? They teach the policemen to handle aggression without going to the ground at all. The ground stuff is covered just in case. They work the techniques with their police and law enforcement gear.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen most of which would never get applied in the street with no ref and rules and little faggot speedo trucks and queer tap out tattoos and your stupid disco dancing routines everytime one of you assholes walks into the ring. You're all jokes. And Real combat arts professsional like Gene Label and Benny Uriqidez etc... are guys that all your BJJ hero's RAN from or wanted so many bullshit rules imposed that the fights never happened. Cuz the Gracies are snake oil sellers nothing more
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints You are right gun disarmament techniques only work in the ring, because people bring guns to the ring to defeat people easily. Club disarmament only works in the ring, because bjj guys go around with clubs in the ring to rape other men. Your ignorance is laughable fag, of course the techniques presented work in the street. Ground techniques would work too. If for some reason you were taken down and someone mounted you. Trap and roll, place hand cuffs. Job done! SEE?
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen BJJ has been proven over and over to be ineffective. In fact the only place it works is this UFC crap jj and judo have been around for centuries and the aspects of those arts combined with the ability to strike are great BJJ is a ground ONLY based art and it is crap plain and simple
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints I can see you are not willing to change your mind. You lack humility sir, you cannot face the fact that your statements are WRONG. Dude I gave you proof, but you insist with the same crap. Sorry for you dude, hopefully one day you will discover you are an idiot and become a GJJ student.

@bnsaints yes you are guess what nobody cares just watch it you will get a homo boner.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints Now what I am watching a GJJ guy conducting a study, he is fighting people of other arts including JJJ, boxing etc. The fights are NOT FIXED, because you powerful blows and even knees to the body or head. Guess what? GJJ all the way.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@ There are millions of people who would disagree. A ton of their video fights look faked and contrived. Don't fool yourself, Rorion Gracie is a lawyer who knew how to craft this bullshit snake oil of an art into an empire. Look at the first UFC with guys tapping out seconds into the match with no damage or holds being applied, look at their phony challenge videos, look at them refusing challenges from Gene Label and Benny the Jet and look at how strictly GJJ guys are getting pounded in the UFC
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints I do not understand why UFC 1 could have been fixed. Ken Shamrock broke somebodies ankle in that UFC. Royce won by positional dominance in the first match,(told you the mount is powerful) that guy accepted he could not escape and was doomed and tapped. The other two matches Royce won by rear naked choke. I have seen some challenge videos and you see real punches there by both fighters.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@bnsaints strictly GJJ guys lose in the UFC TODAY because everyone has knowledge of GJJ in their style so everyone knows it and if you stick to one martial art versus that martial art + more then your bound to lose. If someone today came into the UFC trying to fight Royce as just a boxer then he would immediately throw him down and submit him just like anyone else, but if Royce were to fight lets say GSP hed get fucked up because he's a master of both BJJ and multiple striking arts.
trickstar33 2 months ago
@trickstar33 What about AJJ and the 10 planet ju jitsu these forms of BJJ are still fresh and new
wisdom261 1 month ago
@wisdom261 I'm not 100% sure but Im pretty sure those are hybrids of jiu jitsu with wrestling and some kind of striking. But anyway even if it is strictly grappling, the fighters that train in these that get anywhere ALSO practice other arts such as muay thai or boxing. I'm going to try to make it simpler. BJJ > Other arts by themselves (this can vary depending on skill level), BJJ by itself < BJJ + Other arts because they have jiu jitsu AND other styles in their arsenal.
trickstar33 1 month ago
I will never understand why people are so disrespectfull......
It's totall bullshit all this dirt-talking...
I practise bjj cause I like ground-fighting.
So....I like wrestling, sambo and judo just as much and everyone knows cross-training seems to be the best. But calling the techniques ineffective is just stupid!!!!
MrDeathlyT 2 months ago
I'd Helio Gracie improved/modified Jujitsu to fit his body type and fighting method; but he clearly did not "invent a new style" as he claimed here. Regardless, he was a beast and that cannot be denied. But there should be zero credit for inventing BJJ. There is no such thing as BJJ. If you call it BJJ then everyone else can call it whatever JJ they want, which gets kind of redundant and out of whack!
ninjawarrior2k 2 months ago
This is bullshit. Don't deny your history Helio. Your art isn't made up from scratch. You was taught by your brother, who was taught judo by Maeda. Not even mentioning that you got F*ed Up by Kimura? Draw against Kato?

I love BJJ as much as anyone as i am a 5 year practitioner of the art and am ranked as a purple belt. However, one thing i hate is the Gracie's assumption that BJJ is the most "Complete" form of Martial art as Rorion himself says at the 4:45 mark of the video. BJJ is limited as is every other Martial Art. It has weaknesses like every other Martial art. If your Martial does not focus on punches, kicks, knees, elbows and other aspects of other Martial arts, guess what? THAT'S A WEAKNESS.

Here is a lil' battle experience from the Marine Corps, in real combat you better be on your fucking feet.
Voodoofreak35 5 months ago
@Voodoofreak35 Also no martial art is completely effective against multiple opponents, because if one person is a treat, multiple are a multiple treat. Even if you stay standing up you will still get beaten and the irony is that they will throw you to the floor and break your bones there. Best defense against multiple opponents: Run or attack and run. Same for armed opponents run or give them your money. If you can't escape use a gjj weapon defense and escape.
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@ghettomav619 Ground fighting is good in the ring on soft mats one on one. In real combat, it's usually many against one on rough grounds with sharp objects around the floor. Try getting sit-out power bombed on concrete floor thinking you've already gotten used to getting slammed in the ring. Go ahead and do what most BJJ dudes do in competitions where they climb onto another man like he's trying to have sex with the opponent thinking there is no sharp metal for ur enemy to drop you on!
Voodoofreak35 5 months ago
@Voodoofreak35 Man bjj is not all about competition. That is why the Gracies HATE the sport orientation that is growing in the bjj community. Of course they totally discourage throwing yourself on top of someone like that! That is why I train in Gracie combatives which is 100% street. If you do jiu jitsu correctly your opponent has the highest chances of getting hurt. With a takedown, a sweep which hurt a lot in the mat for the bad guy imagine in the street.

Voodoofreak35 5 months ago
@ghettomav619 While you are at it, on here search "Sambo vs BJJ"(the 2004 New York meet) and go watch how terrible those BJJ guys' wrestling and throwing skills are. DerrickHair 6 months ago
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen The "gracie challenge" lol I know, those old grainy videos shot in Brazil with all these no name unknown "martial arts experts" lol you fucking clown, this system is the biggest sham out there
bnsaints 5 months ago
@bnsaints Are you serious? What do you do that is so much better?
have you ever fought before?
simmo19801 5 months ago
@simmo19 Are you crazy? There is no one "super" art that is better than all the others. Secondly this shit only works in crappy MMA fights with rules. I have never seen a bjj guy actually win a street fight and in fact have actually seen a bouncer who ran his mouth and who I know from seeing him train is a bjj practitioner get shit stomped in a street fight trying this shit. BJJ sucks, as it assumes that all these moves and take downs will automatically work on an "untrained " person. Bullshit!
bnsaints 5 months ago

IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen Do you understand how monumentally stupid you come across by saying Gracie Jiu Jitsu is the BEST defense art? I mean that statement is so foolish I don't have enough band width to list the reasons why it is so dumb. Also what you and the other 15 yr Tap Out T-shirt wearing MMA retards call Gracie Jiu Jitsu has NEVER been tested as a self defense are. Not in combat not in the street. But in dojos in Rio and stupid pay per view TV events. You'r a clown for even claiming otherwise!
bnsaints 2 months ago
@bnsaints Dude remember that not all schools focus on the self defense aspects of the fight. They teach people sportive moves like the butterfly guard or others that don't work in a street fight. Every Gracie Jiu Jitsu move is based on leverage and works in the street.
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen Dude lol these challenges have been prove to be SHIT. As in fake, made up, set up, staged etc... These bjj guys are getting their asses kicked in MMA which is an of itself is garbage. I know all about Gracie JJ and its a con job. Go play with y0ur purple belt you dork.
bnsaints 5 months ago
@bnsaints Proven by who? First you tell me challenges only took up in Brazil, and now you tell me there is proof the challenges were fake when you did not even know of challenges in the US. Be telling me I am a dork you begin to show your inmature behavior in which you try to sound convincing. You are also giving me no proof. You keep repeating yourself also about bjj guys in MMA in which most cases really are garbage. You have no proof against Gracie Academy either.
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@bnsaints You besides only reapeat yourself "I know bjj is a scam" I have proof. However you cannot prove my arguments wrong. You only speak with words, give me facts. Search for a Gracie Academy purple belt and tell him that in his face. Lets see if you type as fast as you can defend a takedown or clinch. Lets see how funny the rear naked choke is. Dude if you are going to comment at least have good arguments.
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen do me a favor dork, name one, ONE of these "experts" in these videos. Then explain why the Gracie pussies refused challenges or to schedule fights by both Gene Label and Benny Uriquedez? Go play with your gay blue gee and your fairy purple belt.
bnsaints 5 months ago
@bnsaints Do me a favor stop saying bullshit because you are actually insulting people that are much less cowards than you hiding behind a keyboard. First the Gracie challenge was an open challenge in which every "dork" like you said that believed Gracie Jiu Jitsu was not worth it and got choked and slapped in the head. An example of an expert Jason Delucia and if you still believe the Gracies refuse fights with experts, then watch the first UFC's. (1-5).
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen Jason Delucia expert huh. what a fucking tool you are. another 15 yr old kid who drank the cool aide and wants to blow anybody named gracie what a jerk you are.
bnsaints 5 months ago
@bnsaints What a stupid ignorant you are I give you my arguments and you keep repeating yourself with factless arguments and by disregarding my arguments and of the Gracies. Even a 10 year old can debate better than you. Just watch UFC and admire the power of Royce Gracie. Tell this arguments direct to the Gracies Idiot. You also drink your own keyboard kool aid, you don't even believe what you are saying bastard. Go fuck with your keyboard man, I am tired of you.
IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago
@IamVeryFrozen That's because you're a pussy. I have no angst about any BJJ tool. I'll tell you what if I'm already face down and a bjj guy jumps on my back as I lie there sleeping I might be afraid of getting "choked out" lol but until then you and all your homo blue gee wearing sissies can suck my ass until you hit mud. Go jerk off to a Overeem posture you pederast.
bnsaints 5 months ago
@bnsaints You're a fucking Idiot, im sure you have never fought a real fight in your life..and if you think that MMA is not real because of rules and that shit would never work on the streets then I would love for you to fight a pro fighter on the street and see what kind of bullshit you think you know....and when your through getting out of the hospital I would like a formal apology for the entire BJJ and MMA community saying how much cock you would rather suck then to talk shit again
PlayGuard4Lif3 2 months ago 14
@Pl Do all you MMA BJJ fags get the same handbook or something? Christ I could set a watch to the pathetic, repetitive, standard response all you clowns offer. In point of fact it is more likely that you SPORT fighters in MMA & BJJ have never been in a REAL fight. A situation that I unfortunately have been in many times. Your bullshit, triangle jokes and gogo this and omoplata that and kimura bullshit, any of which can be ended with any number of moves not allowed in your matches
bnsaints 2 months ago
@PlayGuard4Lif3 Loved your comment lol.
IamVeryFrozen 2 months ago
@PlayGuard4Lif3 Why argue with idiots? BJJ have already been proven to be the most effective martial art in hand to hand combat. No need to reason with retards really.
YesWeCain8 1 month ago
@PlayGuard4Lif3 mma is not a real streetfight but striking, wrestling and grappling are a huge part of real streetfighting but the mma event is not street combat
SuperTestfreak 1 month ago

They showed the legendary Masahiko Kimura...but didn't mention that he outgrappled and broke Helio Gracie's arm in the beginning. Wonder why? 0_o
ImperialDecree 8 months ago

My uncle was so scared of what Hal would do, they drove by and didn't point them out
gatorade420 6 months ago

If BJJ was the most "complete" form of Martial art, one could walk into an octagon TODAY with just BJJ and be a champion or dominate MMA fighters.
kanguesso 10 months ago

Back in the time of early UFCs, when it was single-dimensional fighting - it worked!
ussrwrestling 3 months ago
@kanguesso Wrong man, the issue is that MMA benefits strikers because you get points for punching. Royce vs Severn, if it was an MMA match Severn would have won, because of points and time limits, however since at that time time limits were non existant Royce won with a triangle choke. A fundamental principle of BJJ is patience.

and btw helio did not beat kimura, kimura defeated helio with a shoulder lock, also known as kimura lock coz thats how he defeated helio.
dothelevi 1 year ago
@dothelevi yes and now the kimura is a big part of the BJJ game. when something works, they use it. Thats why GSP takes people down and ground grapples for 5 rounds. Because that way, the odds are on his side so its not a 50 50 chance of getting knocked out by trading punches. and NO martial art can fully prepare you for 4 or 5 guys effectively, even if they claim they can. in that situation, you are better off running or trying to talk your way out.

if a BJJ dude was to fight someone who is a skilled striker and the strikier kicked him in the head of in the ribs the striker just caused serius damage. and no most fights dnt end up in the ground, jst ppl who dnt know how to balance and throws punches, its good to learn how to fight on ground but learn how to not fight in the ground to begin with learn how to not get into the ground to begin with. true?
dothelevi 1 year ago
gracie jujutsu is awesome but when rorion gracie said that other martial arts dont have the complete approach and saying the gracie jujutsu do, i disagree bcoz all they focus on is grapplling and throws so they dont have the complete approch too, what about striking? although some may disgree with me striking is pretty important in your arsenal, they can cause serious damage in a fight i hit on the head could knock out.
dothelevi 1 year ago

OCleftyDude 1 year ago 3
@OCleftyDude And if 1 guy decides to clinch and take the Striker down, then it wouldnt matter if its 1 or 5 so you're absolutely right
marineguy4eva 1 year ago
@OCleftyDude yeah but you wouldnt be doing a freaking armbar on one person while the other guy is kicking your head in. you'll be smashed! learn to grapple, throw and strike not just bjj. and the only martial i can think of that has great self defence technique is JAPANESE JUJUTSU and HAPKIDO. JAPANESE JUJUTSU practices on defending yourself against 5+ ppl. well i know one school that does.
dothelevi 1 year ago
@OCleftyDude BJJ is just like wrestling, you cant wrestle 5 guys at once so there is a flaw. BJJ is good for a one on one combat.
dothelevi 1 year ago
@dothelevi This isn't hollywood you jackass. You are NOT going to defend yourself against five guys unless they are either raging alcoholics or hopped up on LSD. On the other hand I know a great way to fend off multiple attackers.. buy a semi-automatic weapon.

your a jackass i bet you wank about your mom everynight lol.
dothelevi 1 year ago
@dothelevi How do you even come up with shit like that you sick freak? I'm talking about martial arts and the first thing you think about is masterbating to your own mother. You have some serious deep-seated emotional issues and I'm not going to lie to you... I think it would be best if you just killed yourself right now.
jonjon1189 1 year ago

IamVeryFrozen 5 months ago

I believe that's what Rorion means... and I don't understand this war between jjj and bjj... i thought they were the same thing, but bjj has thousands of extra little technical details.
jonjon1189 1 year ago

@jonjon1189 if one of them knows how to grapple punch them in the face before they catch you?? dont get grappled to begin with??? and you woundnt wanna grapple someone when they got 4 people with them like your not gonna do an armbar on one person while the other 4 guys kicks you in the face? you'd wanna strike and BJJ dont teach that? do you know what i mean now? btw BJJ has more techniques and skills in ground work but not as many throws or takedowns in JJJ or in JUDO.
