hopefully someday, the people will power up and get rid of the black and white trash,if enough people get behind it,they will coward up and go somewhere else.I grew up in Oceanside ,Calif, great place in the 1960's,I live in Palm Coast,Florida now. They just don't allow it here period.People allow their once beautiful city to be taken over, they don't go out at night, only visit certain parts, bull shit, take it back !!!!
Yess, El Caajon is A Bad Placee w/ Prostitutes , & Druqqys & HomeeLess, But its NEVER trashy Or Nasty! They are Buildinq *new Stuff & tryinq to Makee it Better ..(:
you forgot to show the majority of el cajon, why dont you get off your own quiet little block and show how crime ridden the city really is,show one of the many disputes you see daily, the hookers and whores who you contantly pass on mainstreet, and bums passed out in gutters and doorways clutching a bottle of thunderbird.
Why lie to poeple? El Cajo sucks ass! I lived in El Cajon from 1976 till 2008. It once was a quet community, in the 70's. A great place to raise a family and call home. Things change, times change. El cajon is a shithole.....Crystal capital of the world. The trolly has brought in a lot of bad elements. Far too many apartments were built and overcrowding added to the probelms. Wht do't you film millar street...and that area of town. Alls you did was film the newest built corner in the city.
man come on-this place is so damn nasty even the 40 year old tweekers on bikes are moving out-and its not that normal people cant stand it there- we just cant stand to see the place we grew up lookin like shit hole from hell-
I love El Cajon for all there Thrift stores.I live in Santee but I work in El Cajon and have lived there for many years.I just wanted to suggest some other areas in El Cajon you should check out.The top of Mount Merritt,The Boardwalk, and Rattle snake mountain.lol.Also for the best burger in town, theres a place on the corner near a thrift store on Anza and main.I cant think of the name of it but its fantastic.
Couldn't hack it? Uh no that is not it. I lived there for 20 yrs. It was depressing seeing homeless people loitering like prositutes on every street corner and on store properties, 40 yr old tweekers riding kids bmx bikes with mullets with missing front teeth, Groups of racist white supremist thugs, Dirty littered streets, tough guys that try to pick fights with everyone. Got so disgusted with the quality of life and weirdo scenery being exposed to eveytime I drove on the street. Enough said....
A tour of El Cajon? Why? Homeless people on every corner - 2nd highest in Methamphetamine distribution under Riverside,CA - Has more section-8 low income apartments than houses - Tons of thugs, gangs and white trash - El Cajon is a freak show at the circus. The most weirdest and mentally ill people you can imagine in one city. Let's not forget has the 2nd highest crime rate in all of SD County right under National City. El Cajon is a total armpit...That's why I moved from there..
Not only is that unfair it's also not true! El Cajon is dealing with the same problems as every city in America. Oh and FYI Meth started in Santee/Lakeside, but it's all east county so let's just lump it all together, right? Just because you couldn't hack it here you want to bad mouth El Cajon? This is MY town and I take pride in it! There's good people making a difference here EVERY day! And I'm one of them! Have a nice day and God bless!
@grimmyx I was born at Grossmont Hospital in 1964, raised in El Cajon and lived there all my life until about 3 years ago. I worked for ECPD and I will just say, Fshrguy7 is pretty much right. Although they tried to revamp downtown, people mostly shop at Parkway Plaza. There is more apt's per capita than any other city I know. Very high crime and will never change unless ECPD starts letting their officers crack down on crime instead of kissing butt and being too Politically Correct.
sorry- that became the pussy cat theatre- porn show place and then later torn down- they could not even sell the seats out of there -if you no what i mean- i grew up there and moved away 23 years ago - its a gang infested town now- yes its a shame -i have good memories growing up there too.sorry if this ruined any memories for

Is the clock tower / Starbucks plaza located where the old ElCajon Movie Theatre used to be? We moved from Lakeside in 1969 and in those days we kids could be dropped off for a double feature and a cartoon/3 stooges intermission. I'm talking "Planet of the Apes"..."Fantastic Voyage"..."Bonnie & Clyde"!
I would love to see pictures of that old building, but I have had no success.

El Cajon has more meth and hard drugs than any other town i've ever lived in. Lots of ignorant people who think they're tough and try to act like badasses too. Not really a cool place.
sir ... thanks for the video... i am a nurse in the phillippines currently and i am waiting for my us visa and my employer is in eldorado care center... so this vid helped me anticipate the place or the my future working place... by the way can u provide us the eldorado care center videos??? thanks a lot...
I am from El Cajon but now live in Orange County. I love every chance I get to come back down. I used to run the Soul Kitchen, the all ages club down the street from that Salavation Army and the Wienerschnitzel that used to be up the street from there was my uncles until the city decided they want to build the police sub-station there or whatever. I'll be back down this friday. Can't wait.
I live in Mich. now but I grew up in El Cajon. I am gonna add you to my fav's please add more video of the neighborhood I haven't been back in 13 years
you need to get us some video of the scenery of El Cajon when ya have time for all us homesick people. I always liked the mountainscape backdrop of La Cresta, El Capitan, and on days with good visibility we could see Mt. Laguna and Mt. Cuyamaca often snow-capped. Would also be nice to see, after being away for 14 years, what "Restaurant Row" on Second Street looks like now or Parkway Plaza
Main street looks very different, especially that empty lot where houses are being built. I worked at Antonio's Hacienda on Johnson and Arnele for many years. Those were great times! I miss my hometown, although it will never be the same. Thanks for posting. Greetings from Dallas Texas.
I miss El Cajon, I lived on Lexington Street and moved to Ohio in 1993. What little I saw on this video makes me think I won't recognize the place! Gonna have to come back home for a visit and see what's changed in 14 years!
Wow cool! I lived between Ballard and First Street on Lexington, I miss it and hope I make it back soon to see what alls changed since I graduated high school in 88
also love the outside video.. It's nice to see other parts of the Country from real people perspective.. Best wishes from the East coast !! ( Almost.. NC.)
el cajon is part of san diego county. i grew up there...but i remember it being full of thrift stores, liquor stores, meth users, and vato's. last time i came back on vacation, it was cleaned up a lot. lovely place.
Well..........a lot of the meth users are still here. But they're in the bad part of town. Almost all of the thrift stores are gone. Yeah, things are a lot better now.
