  • Not much for fixing things, but I gave this a try for the first time, and with your help...NO MORE LEAK! Only cost like $7.98 for the new stem & seat/spring! ALOT cheaper than a plumber! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this! Saved us alot of money, I'm sure! And we need every cent now with a little girl pushing 5 AND a newborn!!! Thanks again friend! Justin

  • @musicjustintime Awesome! Glad you got it working and glad I could help!

  • great video, amazing that you did all this with using one hand and still it only took less than 10 mins. video is very clear and easy to follow.

  • @jbennyj Thanks! I had to edit it a little bit to get it under 10min :)

  • great job....thank you

  • @sergiogery Thanks!

  • Thank you very much. These instructions were very clear, and applied exactly to our sink! You have saved us a plumber's fee.

  • @lucybeanstalk Good deal!

  • Fantastic! Helped hugely -- thanks!

  • @nobody1k Great!!

  • couldnt you just replace the o rings

  • @nigelgipson Yeah but it costs about the same to go ahead and replace the springs too.

  • thanks for the tutorial~~and helping~~

  • @jojamom2003 You're welcome! Glad it could help!

  • Great video! My sink was leaking a whole big bucket of water about every 8 hours. That is a lot of water to waste! I was collecting it and using it to flush the toilet.

Anyhow, I was sick of doing that and watched your video, went to the hardware store and voila! It is not leaking anymore.

I don't think most people realize how much clean water is being wasted by an annoying drip.

I like how you did it with one hand too. lol Great job!

  • @ociana Thanks! Glad it helped :)

  • Grazie mila!!

  • @skolinkenlott di niente mille

  • Thanks for the tutorial! It fixed my kichen sink leak. It always turns out to be the hot side that leaks. Hm? Anyway, instead of replacing the seats and the springs I just cleaned the seat and took the tip of the screwdriver to create more distance in the spaces between the spring. It worked for me.

  • @leonheart403 Good deal! Glad it worked for you!

  • Easy way to determine which side is leaking so you dont have to pull both sides apart, put your hand under the leak and if its warm its your hot side and if its cold its your cold side, just a tip to save some time. Overall nice video!

  • @ggmfallen82 great tip. Thanks!

  • Thank you, thank you and thank you! This detailed video saved us potentially hours of work going the wrong route to fix out 3 out of 4 leaking bathroom sink faucets. We have Delta faucets and the repair seat/spring came with small instructions but, shamefully, we did not know that we could just remove the caps of faucet handles to put the repair kit in there. We were thinking about going under the sink to get to remove the faucet to get to the seat/spring. But this really helped us!

  • @meengla Thanks so much for the comment. Glad it helped. Houses never tire of giving us stuff to fix.

  • Thanks for the simple and understandable video. I can't wait to tackle my own now.

  • @chiefieboy You're welcome! Hope it went well!

  • @twsol It did!!!!! It was a sink at work. I was sick of the drip, drip, drip. I am a woman and "our girl Friday". I work with all men and no one took interest in fixing it so I decided to take care of it myself. Looks like your video has helped a lot of people!!

  • @chiefieboy Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! It was my wife's idea for me to make the video in the first place!

  • @twsol Smart lady!!!

  • @chiefieboy Indeed; and the source of most of my good ideas.

  • Very helpful!!

  • @skooterfartwife Thanks for the comment!

  • You can tell ahead of time which one is leaking by just feeling the leaking water. If its warm/hot then its the hot side.

  • @tsaavik Nice tip.

  • Thanks for posting - very helpful.

  • Thanks for the info, very helpful!

  • thank you! just what I needed to see to fix my leak!!

  • @rsx79 Awesome. Thanks for letting me know and glad to help.

  • @twsol whre can i buy the springs and w/e the black is ?

  • @MYDICKISWOW The springs can be purchased at your local hardware store such as Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace. The black things come with the springs for this particular faucet and shouldn't have to be purchased separately. Good luck!

  • THANK YOU! This is exactly what I was looking for. Very clear, precise how-to.

  • Thank you so much for the video. Very Clear and Helpful . I have suggestion that i learn from an other video. You can turn the hot water valve under sink and wait to see if the cold is leaking and try the same with cold....

  • @m3aislam Thanks! and great suggestion. Have a great one !

  • thanx for posting lol... have a leak to fix and the vid shows the way :-) Take care.

  • Thanks your awsome! i just use a sand paper to make rubber even. it works. hope spring push it good

  • Great video! Thanks very much. Only one problem here. We replaced both seats and the cold side is working just fine but the hot side is streaming out now not dripping. Do you have any suggestions or ideas as to what might be the problem. Thanks in advance.

  • focflscott, That stinks. Could it be possible that when you replaced it that it got dislodged? I would open and check it again. If this doesn't help I would make sure nothing is cross-threaded. Also, on some sinks it could be possible to install it backwards... sorry, its hard to tell. Good luck!

  • hi twsol .... HELP! how do you fix a sink that has no stop point in turning? it goes each way and i cant get it to stop sometimes it just runs .... so i can turn either way and the water turns on .... :( i need your help please ...... thank you so much great video

  • Sounds like the knob is stripped or the stem is loose or stripped. For most sinks, the knob can be removed to expose a brass top that is kind of star shaped (but with many edges (6-12)). If it is just the knob you should be able to turn the star shaped stem with a pair of pliers. Only the top of the stem should move in this case. If the bottom part of it moves too, then you need to tighten the base. Don't do it too tight or you may strip it. The stem may already be stripped so replace it. Good L

  • Thanks I needed that

  • Glad to help!

  • Thank you SOOO much! I am a single Mom who just spent over $200 to have my shower fixed 2 weeks ago. When my kitchen sink started dripping, I searched on YouTube for how to fix it myself. I just spent $2.29 at the hardware store and fixed it in less than 5 minutes! Thanks so much!

  • Comments like yours make my day. So glad to help and glad it worked out for you.

    God bless!

  • Thank you!

Especially since the sink is exactly like mine.

  • what if u have a difference type of knob?????????

  • There are many different sinks out there. You can start by finding the brand of your sink and then searching their website. For most kitchen two-knob kitchen sinks, the principle is the same. A screw holds the handle down. Once you remove the handle (usually held by a screw) you use a wrench to remove the base under where the knob was. This exposes the seat and spring which is usually what goes bad.

  • Very Helpful. Thanks very much.

  • Thanks!

  • excellent, my faucet wasn't leaking, but I had restricted flow on my hot water valve. This tutorial helped, a lot anyway. Thanks

  • blkspic,

Good deal. Glad it was helpful and thanks for the comment.

  • nice job! one handed and all!

  • Thanks!

  • hccyco, I contacted Peerless directly and told them about the problem and they sent me the replacements springs/seats for free. Good luck!

    Thanks,

    Joshua

  • Thanks i have the same sink ,and the same leaking faucet.

  • didiandfamily, Sometimes the knob is corroded. Especially on older sinks. If this is the case, gently prying under the know with a screw driver on each side will usually free it enough to get it off. To do this, wedge a screwdriver under the knob and gently pry on one side. Then repeat on the other side of the same knob. You may have to place a small object under the screw driver for leverage. Go back and forth from side to side until it is free. Hope this helps!

  • Good job, clear instruction. But I came across a problem while trying to fix my faucet, after I unscrew the cross-screw, I can not take the knob out, I don't know what is the problem, can you help me with that?

  • Great job, you save me!

  • Jpoenie, Thanks good luck!! I will post more helpful videos... be sure to subscribe!!
