  • Cool man you got metal shavings on your carpet too!

  • you sir.... might be a genius. video concept and mojo vibin gets a gold star from me. nice effect too. now get back in the closet!!

  • @monkeyxx Haha, thanks for watching! :D

  • if you switched it to a latching type switch you would almost have an electro harmonix type thing going on

  • @timothywaldvogel Not quite sure what you mean. Latching would simply make you have to step on it again to get rid of the insanity. If you want that, you simply have to just crank the repeats up more.

  • what is the toggle controlling?which part replaced please?

  • @bombthesystemsnl It controls the 11k resistor, allowing for more repeats/oscillation or none.

  • hi man do you know of a way of adding a trails switch to the rebote 2.5...

so the effect carries on after ive switched it off?..any ideas?

  • Honestly, that's going to be a pretty tough thing, you'd need a buffer on the repeats, and some way to make sure that the buffer isn't loading the output. I tried a while back and had trouble with it, so I gave up.

  • hmm..sounds tricky...cheers for the reply..think im gonna build the echo base then..thats got trails switch on...cheers dude..merry xmas.

  • Sweet deal, where can I find info on that project/kit?

  • @neiloler one way of doing it would be a "y-cable" and an a/b box

ie guitar to a/b box, a out to reboot and b out goes together with reboot out in parallell to the next box or amp

maybe. think i'll solder myself a y-cable tomorrow and check how well it works

  • A y cable would do it, but not without big signal loss because it doesn't have any buffering. :(

  • generalguitargadgets has a mini mixer schematic

its 4 channel, but easily modified to 2

maybe that would do the trick?

  • @100roberthenry I just built a 2.5 - its not really necessary - you get the "pad" setting that he describes when you have the Delay knob at about 75% up. past 8 or 9 it'll oscillate, but you can get a feel for where it gets out of control. Awesome pedal!!

  • @Relayer1968 , i built both the rebote and the echobase with trails...check my channel dude!... :)

if you like the rebote..you'll love the echobase...nice chorusy modulation too.. :)

  • @100roberthenry You would need to modify the circuit rather intensely: you'd need something that removes true bypass and buffers the repeats section of the effect with a direct effect.

  • @neiloler cheers tat was about a year ago....i built both in the end... thanks.

  • Nice !!! i think im gonna build my own. Have a great day too

  • Sounds cool. I got the same idea of the Rebote with a "crazy" switch, but I'm going to add another pot to adjust the amount of feedback with the 15k resistor shorted, so I can control the speed of the delay swell.

  • why come I can't play geetar leik you?

    seriously, that's a cool pedal.

  • Hi! Nice video and nice work. :-) Man I´ve tried this crazy buttom mod by shortening the repeat pot as you wrote before but what happens is that I have no effect when I press the momentary switch. Any idea? Thanks a lot.

  • Hmmm, that's strange. Play around with the position of the repeats knob, I know for my pedal it only works if I have the repeats set to right before it's oscillating, so the crazy switch pushes it over the edge, so to speak.

  • Thanks a lot!!!!

  • Hey man, great effect, sounds pretty clean. Congrats. Now, I have a few questions, if you can answer them. a) How are the additional switches connected to the circuit? b) Do you know about another IC that works like delay? Because I'm from Argentine, and the PT2399 is expensive here (above U$S16, or $60 in local cash). Thank you.

  • I'm not sure about other ICs, as this one is pretty self-contained. It cost me a bit too, so I understand the desire to get something cheaper)

As for the location of the switches, it's basically switching in a resistor where the TonePad 15k resistor that limits run away repeats sits. Play around with the design and resistor values, you can probably make something better than me. :)

  • is it true bypass?

  • You bet! :)

  • that would be awsome dude i highly enourage such an amazing device. would there be a way that i could buy something like that from you?

  • Yeah man, I've done plenty of custom pedals for people. I'd love to do a custom pedal for you. :)

  • i meant adding like a wah pedal except it controls the foot switch you added so you could control the amount or somthin. bassically what i mean is just throwin a rocking pedal onto the pedal as well. just an idea i had.

  • Yeah, I've thought about doing that, but I don't use much wah-pedal stuff, I just find that it's too hard to tweak to get it to be the right thing and play and sing and keep track of all that stuff. I use this red pedal now primarily for getting crazy oscillations.

If you'd like a custom delay pedal built into a wah enclosure, I'd be happy to get that going for you! :)

  • have you considered attempting to make the button switch that you modded onto it into a pedal instead

  • Are you talking about making a delay/oscillator that is just made for crazy stuff? Yeah, I've thought about it, I think I'll work one out this summer. I'll just make the pots internal trim pots that can be set and forget.

  • Comment removed

  • the crazy switch is awesome.

  • Thanks. :)

  • Sounds good, I might add, or send the message by a drawing or diagram of the location of 1P1T? Probe different shapes and can not accomplish. Thank you very much

  • I'm not sure what you meant by "probe different shapes and can not accomplish".

  • Hi! compliments for your rebote... I have a rebote 2.5 and I'm very interessed to you momentary switch mod... do you have a scheme or layout for this mod?

    thanks

  • I don't have any schematics or whatnot, it's a simple switch that shorts the repeats pot so it acts as if the pot was cranked up to max.

  • Altogether great video.

Your tone is really sweet, is that the only pedal your using?

  • It's the only pedal I'm using. Great sounding pedal, and it was into a Weber 18 watt amp.

  • your crazy button is a lot like the slam button on the SiB Mr Echo - cool idea!

  • Dude, congratulations on this pedal!

I really need this little extra "crazy button" - can you tell me how you did the circuit oder even have scematics?!?

All the best from Berlin, Germany!

  • I just shorted the lugs of the repeats knob so that it acted like it was full on.

  • Hey thanks alot for the feedback it really cleared things up for me, i hope to start this project soon because if it sounds like yours i will be extremely happy

  • It's a great delay, not the best I've ever heard, but it'll do a lot of things that you'd have to pay twice the price of building this to do in other pedals. Enjoy! Let me know how it goes!

  • Oh and just one more thing if you can tell me the type of footswitch it is (SPST,DPST ETC...) that would be much appreciated

  • The main on/off switch is a 3PDT switch, and the "crazy button" is a 1P1T momentary-"on" switch.

  • Ok thanks alot i love small bear its an awesome website for any pedal need you may encounter. However i have one more question what kind of led did you use on there because i really want to add one but i was curious where exactly to put in on the board

  • You can use any LED you want, I didn't put it right on the PCB per say, I just hooked it up to the 3PDT switch and battery (with a current limiting resistor, probably a 2.2k ohm)

  • Hey your pedal sounds great and i'm actually building that exact model from tonepads website and i was just wondering what size enclosure you used

  • It's a BB size box, you can find them at Small Bear Electronics (just google 'em, I think they're AWESOME for pedal parts!), and it worked really well. You could even squeeze it in a B size box (think MXR Micro Amp size box), you'd just need smaller pots for the controls, and probably not have a internally mounted crazy switch (external jack perhaps?)

  • Killer delay man!! Thinking about making one myself. Where could i get some info on how to install your crazy switches!! A++++++ i enjoyed the commentary as well! Cheers!

  • Good job Neil. I like the extra foot switch. I just built a Rebote 2.5 myself and posted a new video of it, I modded mine on the filtering to increase the mids and treble giving it a cleaner sound, and I increased the maximum delay time and gave it infinite repeats. It is fairly insane now. Check out my new video.

  • Great video mate! :-) Nice lookin pedal to.

  • Thank ya kindly! Love your vids too, maybe when these videos make us rich, we'll do a Neil and Rob together at last review video! :)

  • Ha ha great Idea mate, I could do half and send you the Mpeg to add to :-)

  • That's a great idea too ... seriously, if you think of something we could get a video together on, it would be awesome!

  • nice demo and very funny :).

  • Thanks!

  • That sounds great...really great! And you should be a fricken actor. Your helarious too!

  • Thanks! I appreciate your comments too, hopefully I can get big in acting or guitaring so I don't have to worry about this college degree stuff! ;)
