@Gununderman I had the same problem so I tried fixing it by using that color picker tool and clicked on something, then next to those two color boxes there is a little black square click on that, it solved my problem.

edit the brightness, light, and saturation on the pasted face or cut out the rest of the face and then select the hair and bring it closer to the fake face and then it willlook totally realistic!

I am a novice to Gimp and had been trying for ages to work out how to do a fun photo for a friend but good instructions on how to cut/paste the head of a person from one photo onto the head of another figure in a different photo were just impossible to find.
