Sorry I deleted so many of my previous posts. I still carry a lot of anger because I believe our American family court systems are chartered with prostituting justice, shredding the families of small children for profit, striking terror of injustice into the hearts of the faithful and using it to extort hundreds of dollars per hour in protection money like a Mafia thug profiting from prolonging injustice. It's made a real whorehouse of hypocrisy, theft, cowardice, and narcissism of the USA.

How damnable is that? No wonder our nation is so very cursed these days, and rightfully so individually and as a nation. @danieljdick Now, did my anger cause my divorce ten years ago, or did the divorce cause my anger? It depends. If you're honest about my personal history, the anger started when it was caused by external circumstances, and it is reasonable, normal, and actually obligatory considering the injustice and threat this injustice holds over the heads of our children and others. But, if you're looking for a convenient lie to support no-fault, my anger must obviously have caused the divorce.

What about when your spouse shreds your family for a roll in the hay? What if your spouse plays one lover against another to see who will indulge their narcissism more? Isn't that being a whore? Judgmental? What about judging God and family and children unworthy of love and faithfulness? People who love their children don't shred their families.

@danieljdick This narcissistic divorce and adultery correlates statistically with suicide rates across multiple cultures. Teen suicides rise. Gang membership, violent crime, teen pregnancy, academic failure, future marital failures come from this. And it won't be fixed with communication skills alone. Often counseling is a catalyst for unhappiness and divorce. What's needed is good coaching from a counselor who actually saved marriages. Michele Weiner-Davis is one.

@danieljdick Beyond this, we need to lay the axe to the root of unilateral no-fault divorce. I'm starting a sincerity marriage site to set up covenants couples can enter into. They may not be legally binding, but I hope they show up in court anyway and in churches and everywhere to take a stand against the cowardice of unilateral no-fault divorce, against prostitution of justice, against hurting the faithful and their children for profit or for a roll in the hay.

I am presently threatened with divorce and my husband holds so much resentment toward me because I spend a lot and he saves EVERYTHING. I spend because he doesn't have sex with me and he doesn't have sex with me because I spend. It's a vicious cycle. Anyway, I can't seem to change his mind about divorce. He said there was no force that would change his mind at this point. I am so sad. I realize now that you never miss your water until your well runs dry.

Sadly people divorce either because they are being abused. Being cheated on, or just don't want to be married. Those are the three main reasons. I don't believe in divorce unless it really, really warrants it. People need to seek counseling and prayer. Before the consequences are far greater in divorce. It isn't just you can divorce and let it go. Think about the children involved in this. Take them into consideration.

I agree with Lee on trying to reconcile before running to court for a divorce. Sometimes it works, but if it doesn't you can learn much about your self and what you really expect in a relationship.

A very informative video. It's all quite basic and should be common sense but it's surprising how often these basic points slip our mind and the next thing you know is that you're on your way to your second divorce. We all know that communication is key to every relationship but no matter how much that's drilled into us we just try to avoid it whenever we encounter problems in our relationships. Thinking it's better to just be in denial and hope things will work themselves out in due time.

Great video, I agree with other posters who have said that Mr. Rosen's words make things easy to understand and keep things under control in the situation. That is something we need more of, keeping things in control, instead of so many people getting divorced and trying desperately to destroy the other persons life, which is why I really like what he said about immaturity.

Mr Rosen should be a marraigae consulor as well as a divorce attorney. He has a way of putting at ease and in a divorce you need to have things not elavated to status that you can't handle. Commitment is a big priority. Sex should never be a reason for divorce. Learn how to handle yourself and things in this area will work out.

This video was very impressive to me because of how much of the marital problems i recognized within the marriages of my own family members. My dad and stepmom are currently dealing with most of the problems if not all. I was very surprised by the top reasons for divorce, and that adultery was not one of them. In a way though, I guess it makes sense, since if there was a better line of communications open between spouses, the reasons that cause adultery would diminish greatly, so that just reinforces what I learned long ago, keeping up good communications with your spouse is very important.

Clearly, this guy knows what he's talking about. I'd much rather take advice from a lawyer who deals with this kind of stuff every day than someone bitter, or recently divorced. Luckily, I'm not married so hopefully I won't have much use for any of this information any time soon.

I believe this man is completely correct. Communication is very important in relationships. It is true that most of divorced couples had a communication problem. Also, money is big issue, not only in financialy poor couples, same thing happens both to poor and rich couples. I've seen many to divorce because of addictions, definitely big problem, especially alcohol and cigarets.

This video is very informative. I am truely enlightened. I thank Lee Rosen for putting this on youtube so that couples may be educated to prevent divorces. My husband and I always disagree about our finances. He likes to save money and I like to spend money. I never knew that it was one of the leading causes of divorce until now. Most of the people dont know about the reasons for divorce and precounselling and post counselling ideas given by rosen. lack Communication and immaturity is main reason for the divorce is a fact but many of us dont know about that, the video explained in well manner.
