you know, watching this trailer, its really hard to believe that this show is intended for kids. if anyone ever tells you this show is a stupid little kids' show, tell them to watch this trailer. it'll set anyone straight. after all, you really can't experience the full throttle of everything this show is and all its deeper, darker concepts, emotions, and meanings if you're a kid. that's why, the older i get, the more i like this show. the movie sucked, but team avatar lives on in my heart! <3

@hazeddon FYI, Nickelodeon recently ordered 14 more episodes. Korra will now me 26 episodes, instead of the original 12. ^_^ I totally saw this coming. ATLA was originally supposed to be 13 episodes long, but the more the show inscreased in popularity, the more Nick kept ordering more eppies. 13 eventually became 63. I kind of knew Korra wouldn't stay so short XD

November 2011 will bring us Korra. Personally, I think her existence is meant for this:

1. To show us how much the world changed during the GAang's life.

2. How many Airbending children/grandchildren Aang&Katara had

3. How will Korra find an Airbending teacher.

I don't know what's worse: that everyone from ATLA is dead (probably show up in previews) or that the series will last 12 episodes. (Really, what's there to tell: all she has to master is Airbending and the Avatar State).

@Samaria1247 I know. The show was so good, but the idea of an animated special - less likely a fourth season - seemed like it would. M&B knew where to draw the line (Aaron Ehasz wanted to do another season). Honestly, I think Korra is the equivalent to a book 4: she's an Avatar & she needs to learn Airbending. (Guess I'm gonna have to go see my hypnotist again).

@DoubleAAz While I do think that would be an interesting plot point to explore, I have to say that part of what I liked about Avatar was that it _did_ end. They had a story, with a beginning, middle, and end, and didn't try to drag it out to get more money. I think it's a sign of good storytelling, on the writers' part. :)

All those episodes, evrything that was showed, was leading to the ending, so that when it came, we would understand it. A story is, on a basis point, a tool to explain the ending scene. So if a story drags for to long, than the ending might lose it's meaning.

Rumor is she was just banished to some wasteland somewhere, maybe toward the Air Nomads and was wiped out with them (at least that's my hypothesis after having watched the entire series finale about a year ago, if more or less). I haven't watched Books 1 or 2 in a while since 3 took so long as I was growing up, but if I remember correctly, she killed the current Firelord to save Zuko and was banished for it, though to viewers when it was first shown it was implied he killed here.
