I was in San Francisco in 1967 when I bought my first Fleetwood Mac(mono ) album. I played it until it wore out. Saw them live in San Diego but by that time that bitch had screwed up a genuine hall of fame band. Those were the days my friend. so sad. I remember she was sitting at the piano during a concert and scolded the audience for having the gall to make requests.
Entirely due to Jeremy spencer that I discovered Elmore James, in my view one of the greatest of the blues legends - great to see him (Jeremy!) performing again
what i alway's got from jeremy's work on their recordings was that he ran everything dead clean through the p.a. and guitar amp it sounds to me like ?
that his performances were so genuine and powerful without the use of reverb , just a truly brilliant and deeply inspired musician who paid great tribute to the early blues musicains from america !
Acido lisergico corriendo por sus venas,que logro,suena bien,aquellos tiempos,todos lo haciamos,muchachos al fin de cuentas,esto no se puede ocultar.Ok N G C,
jeremy was at a concert and during a break went to the bathroom and didn't return to the stage but joined the children of god instead . what a deal uh
Even from the early days,Jeremy was called just an Elmore James impersonator.
I went back and listened to Elmore. They were brilliant and original recordings of course, but he didn't have the Fleetwood Mac rhythm section behind him..
This is no different to me than JS Bach transcribing and incorporating his dead hero,Vivaldi,so that a little of the the music is heard by the new generation.
The fact that Jeremy was a little british white guy is beside the point.
Couldn't agree with you more neohip. Jeremy would be the first to admit he was an impersonator. They even used to introduce him as here's Jeremy doing his Elmore James impression. Pete was not a natural frontman and that's why he wanted Jeremy on stage with them in the beginning. Jeremy was a fine entertainer but it soon became clear he was no creative force - that's why Pete had to bring Danny in in order to have someone to collaborate with creatively, which is when the band really took off.
