How hard were the modifications to the firewall? I have a RHD conversion for my L and am trying to get as much information as possible as far as firewall modification. I have heard of people welding in a RHD firewall, but that seems like a lot of work, especially since I don't have a welder on hand. How did you do it? Your car is awesome, and I can't wait to get my EJ20G in! Do you have a build thread I can check out by chance? Thanks.
I've got a UK spec 96 NA EJ20, anyone know the full extent of turbocharging this engine? beyond new heads is there anything else major that the engine needs? are the trans different between turbo gc8s and NA gc8s? - would be cool if you know
You're going to want to get a turbo tranny and maybe some heavier fuel injectors. Definetly look into triple-firing plugs and some racing wires, too. Get an ECU after that, and you'll kill on the track.
dude! congrats on the job! very nice! it took me a year and two months! to finish my swap....gathering parts and custom fabrications...well i didn't do the ej series swap..i did the eg33... check it out on here...
i bought it as a 1.8l shell with no engine and transmission and converted the firewall to rhd, then bought a 95 wrx clip and put in all the parts. took me about a month of working everyday.
