  • lol

  • S-video to hook up to HDTV??? WTF LOL

  • lmao in the beginning it says PNY GTX 260 but its an EVGA card.

  • I mean GTX 280

  • Back when most cards had a nice stock cooler and not these ugly aftermarket coolers.

  • LOL

Whatching this video in 2011 makes me laugh like hell!

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL :D

  • Am I the only one who noticed it said 280 for both charts?

  • @stevenajpvv no i noticed that too lol

  • hey brother i wanted to know if rivatuner has an exception to the 280gtx b4 i download the program would this be a good idea with trying to keep the card b4 i just go along and buy a new one cant play sum games for the details of crashing and if i go for a stronger card would u have any suggestions b4 doing so and crap i would have to update all...mail me with a great card and a system to go with it in the 800$ to reason bracket ??thanx again great card to have had fun with lol...happy new year

  • Why use 1 GPU? why not 4 gpu's :D

  • Haha, 1:30 bottom s/b 260 GTX

  • Hey I've got an EVGA GTX280 lookin just like the shiny one in the video cept mine is sitting on top of the garbage can . This is the 3rd 280 that doesn't work in my system. Ya i went through testing every other component in my system. Tech support was getting downright rude suggesting my system is the problem, well OK I'll just keep using this 8800 which doesn't give me any problems versus the much higher end card that sux. My 1000W power supply is going 'huh?'

  • @TheGrakky

You throw a 280 in the garbage can? What a dumbass...way to waste money AND the environment dick wad.

  • Comment removed

  • ive just relised at 1:15 with the shader clock, they have done a typo as both are being called the 280 and again at 1:29 with memory frequency

  • where can I get the GTX 280 "M" ?????

    i have a M17x, whith the crapy 260M....and I want to upgrade...

    PLEASE HELP

  • @leomitz dont upgrade laptops. its not going to do much unless you upgrade the proc.

  • Da fuck 9800 GX2 FTW

  • Y HAVE THEY COMPLETELY DISCONTINUE THE GTX 280????? I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE ITS ONE OF THESE ITEMS THAT WENT POOF NO MORE LOL....

  • @stonecoldbigmike Ebay looking at one right now ;)

  • @theandroids yea maybe only a few but r they trusted to even go get one off ebay as is? i really also wondered y did they just take it off the selves like that ..just discontinued out of no where?? was there a defect with the card? if not ill be willing to get one asap even tho they run hotter than ever... some times makes my room feel like they r giving extra heat in the summer lol.. if u can ,,can u get back with sum info.on y they did discontinue the card also a great trusted seller off ebay?

  • @stonecoldbigmike The best thing to do is go to the nvidia channel and ask them why they discontinued it. Also check on the different manufacturers BFG, EVGA etc websites and contact them, better yet ask compusatv.

Has for Ebay I guess you cant really trust anyone even with 100% feedback, its about taking the leap, buying and testing the products yourself :)

  • Lol..1:16, spec info failure.

  • Comment removed

  • why you gouys fighitng for the game-cards? i have the XFX HD5750 1GB DDR5 and i can play all the games on Very High settings without havinf any problem... so who cares about GTX260 :p

  • Try it on max settings and getting 60 fps.

  • @KillingTechno the GTX 260 is more powerful than the 5770! and touches the 5830 when overclocked!

  • dose any one else noticed that it says 280 &280 on the popo up lol

  • Lol, he doesn't reply to his email.

  • i was told that you should not use the psu converters because it can kill your card. is it true?

  • Usually a power supply that has no pcie does not have enough power to run this card. But if you do have a big enough power supply without the pcie lines, then I would suggest using separate molex power lines, in other words: don't run both power connectors off the same molex line.

  • @zesarz4 Kinda true, my HD4870 1gb superclocked owned GTX275 bigtime. GTX275 is dualgpu tbh.

  • @HazakyProductions gtx275 isnt a dual gpu card

  • @whatsuuuuuup Ow, but ok. Thanks for correcting :]

  • @HazakyProductions gtx 260 c-216 can beat out the 4870... let alone the gtx 275.

  • @rayright15 Apperantly ur wrong.

  • @HazakyProductions how so? check out the gtx 260 core 216 video done nicely by albert. 260 c216 beats it in almost every game. And i also checked the review on hardware canucks myself. What do you have to back up "apparently your wrong"?

  • hey just wondering if my psu could handle the nvidia gtx 260 core 216, its a 600 watt big antwith a peak load at 700.....

  • @syforcelimpbzt even 500w is enough for that. HD4870 wich i own, can be powered up on max with about 500watt. Im on 500w, CPU clocked and lots of HDD's :)

  • do graphics cards have requirements or something? ram? stuff like that?

  • @G4pcta Yo man check "How to chose a video card its also by These guys theyll tell you everything.

  • @G4pcta well, they require the proper slot on the MB and then there are PSU requirements.

But it doesn't matter how much ram or what your cpu is.

  • they need a high power resource...

  • 5:15 two right consoles are gay and cheap

  • how much power do i need if im gonna put gtx 260 oc together with 9800gt with six pin for physx in my system? need help guys, thanks

  • in a few months i im getting the Gateway FX6801-03 desktop pc with the gtx 260 and would anyone know if i could duel them up?

  • @ryguyrocker If the motherboard has two pci-e slots, then yes. It should say SLI if it has

  • it does but the problem is when ever i look up the motherboard (intel x58 express chipset) i normally get the intel dx58so boarrd and on tigerdirect here the albert guy said for that motherboard nvidia doesnt get along with intel so you can only do crossfire with ati

  • if you think about it, these are the only truly original products nvidia came up with since the 8800gt. that was 3 years ago. all others are just rebranded (many of them TWICE) or same cards with slightly different clocks. man, the 300 series better kick ass.

  • you;d hope because they are spending sooooo much time screwing around delaying the release while the 5800 series of ATI cards is shining uncontested

  • 6:52 CRYSIIIS......YEEEEEEEEEE MAN

  • there is a typo at 1:34

  • No there is not. Lol

  • I got the GTX 280 and i only have the option to play on graphics level high...any help plz =/

  • @copyjr XP?, go Vista or 7, DX11 = 7

  • great video, love the compareson

  • i got 2x superclocked gtx 280's hehe

  • Keks?

  • What processor is being used here???

  • Comment removed

  • It's a good review, but when those cards just came out, the drivers were still immature for those cards. I'm sure today if you bench marked them again, the GTX280 should kill that Gx2.

  • They don't really use the GTX 280 anymore do they?

    GTX 285 right?

  • guys i have one GTS 250 and i have 3-way SLI on my motherboard i was wondering do u need 2 cards to have PhysX or one is enough? and if you do need 2 cards does one have to be stronger than the other, or they both have to be the same? now can i get a GTX 260 and have the GTS 250 for PhysX or ONLY 2 GTS 250 or GTX 260 please respond thnx :)

  • what shouldi get a gtx280 , 9800gx2, ati 5770 or 5850?

    i seen gx2 go under 100$ on ebay....280 gone for 130-160...

  • EVGA GTX 260 SSC edition is faster than the 280, but 280 FTW edition is really fast. 9800 gx2 is around that performance range and so is the 5770. the 5850 is way up there. so if you are looking for performance go with the 5850

  • @chevelletrixter72 that should handle crysis at high at 32 inch 1080p right?

  • Yeah. it can handle eyefinity, which goes WAY above 1080P and it can handle crysis on that. You will be fine.

  • @chevelletrixter72 also you said EVGA GTX 260 SSC is this it? ebay item number ( search box paste this) 120478481131

    this is 178$

  • Thats a great card. it MIGHT not handle crysis 1080p (idk) but it is still very good. go for it if you trust ebay.

  • @chevelletrixter72 i trust ebay i sell and buy for past 5 years no problem

okay so it might be between the 260 cardi sent the link or the gtx 280....which you reccomend....

or I might wait till 5870 drops a little in price -you said is better than both those?

  • 5850 and 5870 are really high end cards.

260 is a gamers card, the SSC edition is an enthusiasts card

gtx 280 is similar to the gtx 260

if you will play crysis get the 5850 or 5870, if you will play stuff like call of duty and GTA get a gtx 260 ssc

  • @chevelletrixter72 ok thanks man so to get things str8 5850 and 5870 better than the 260 and 280.....

also the SSC 260 is better than normal 280

am i right? on this? thanks for your help btw

  • If you want a lot of power and you don't like ATi go for a gtx 275, or a gtx 280 FTW edition. but 5850 and 5870 are the best bang for the buck. 5850 compares to the gtx 285 which i have seen to be around $350-$400. and no problem

  • hey bro the card you reccomended was either a 5850 or 5870 over the gtx 285 right?

im probably gonna pick 5850 or 285 since thier cheap on ebay....

but i also saw you said 4890 im assuming 5850 beats the 4890?

and you said 5850 should run on a 32inch fine?

  • 5850 is a little better than the GTX285. 4890 is as good as a gtx 275, and a 4890 could handle a 32 inch monitor.. so a 5850 would be just fine, overclock it to perform like a 5870, and you've got DX11 so it's future proof so a 5850 would be the better choice. plus it's cheaper than a 285

  • 5850 is better than a 4890 correct?

now with the 5850 can i just over clock it with the software or should i get better cooling support?

  • you could get a 5850 and overclock it, but not by too much or else like you said the cooling wouldnt handle it, its not worth buying extra cooling when you could just buy a 5870 in the first place but a 5850 should fit all of your needs. Yes it is better than a 4890

  • @chevelletrixter72 the 5850 is as fast as the GTX 470! so all games at 1920*1200 with 16xq AA should run about fine but not sure if they will run ok in DX11 mode!

  • @chevelletrixter72 also if you were coparing

    5570 vs gtx 280 or 9800gx2

    what would u get

i seen the gtx 280 for under 180 ppl won ebay bids-

9800gx2 max i seen it was 140$ these past couple days

and well 5770 thats what under 200?

  • 5570 as in 5770? GTX 280 beats it hands down, unless you want DX11 (not many DX11 games out yet) same with 9800 GX2. 5770 isn't all that great if you are a hardcore gamer, neither is the 9800 gx2. Get a gtx 280 if you can if not, Get an HD4890

  • 2 things:

    1) Did he say "digital s-video" @ 8:44?

    2) "audio connectors for HDMI"? What HDMI?

Why would anyone use component for HDTV when you can just get a DVI -> HDMI cable?

  • 1:38

I think the bottom line is SUPPOSED to say 260. because they both say 280 :P? which must be a mistake :D?

  • Very nice. Getting the 260 soon :)

  • dont get the 260 get the 275 or hd 5770

  • too late...

  • Lol, i wouldernt of said that he can play faster than people on the consles, lol, he might start a arguement!

  • lol it said pny?

  • u know how he is showing u the frames per second on the charts does it effect how much fps u get if u ave 2gig ram and a quad core aswell as a gtx 260 or no matter what other specs u have the graph card gonna give u those frames no matter what?

  • do u think that is worth 1,745 dollers(including a screen)

  • Sounds like a good deal, go for it.

  • thanks i got it cant wait

  • i want to bye a hp pavelion elite with a nevidia 260 gtx(this one),intel core i7-920 , 1terribite hard drive, and 12 gig memory

  • k i win. Got a Costum Built computer , x2 GeForce GTX 295 1752 MB. GL Beating my whole computer costed 2000 Dollars.

  • OMFG I am so tired of hearing "you looking at it the fastest card on the market.

OMFG the 9800 gx2 (my card) is just as fast os this card, why should I buy this card if I already have a 9800 gx2.

Besides no games for PC anymore, I mean really wtf happened to halo 3 for pc?

  • single gpu

  • I got two 9800 GX2s in my system. No card can beat me.

  • Yes, they can...

  • 4870x2, 5870 and the gtx 295 hmm no cards?

  • none of them are faster than my system... hmmm

  • a single hd 5870 can rape your whole system

  • haha nerd!

  • i am proud thank you

  • can I instal this video card to msi k9n neo v3

  • lol wouldn't it be cheaper to build a gaming desktop with a 26" monitor GTX285 and then purchase a new laptop that has some sort of crap(ier) graphics card but otherwise kicks ass.

for the same price as the gaming laptop itself?

  • is there a big difference is its 260m or 280m

im buting the new aleinware m17x and theirs have an m at the end where these dont so yea

  • The "M" just stands for mobile.

  • the 260m is a 9800gt underclocked.

    the 280m is a 9800gtx+ underclocked.

goto wikipedia. search nvidia, than scroll to the bottom, click on comparison of nvidia cards.

than scroll down to the 200m series. u will see the the stats are 9800gt/x's

  • so the duel 260m should be enough to run crysis prettyg good right? cuz i can always overclock them

  • yeah for sure. dual 260m's would be like sli 9800gt's. if you overclock them.

also make sure you get a good quad core or duo core clocked at least too 2.5ghz+ and 2mb+ cache.

  • im trying to, i wanna get the quad core extreme at 2.53 ghz but its a bit pricy and the other ones are too slow and arent overclockable :( duel core i dont wanna get, i need quad core, however if i was to get a core duo which i prob wont it would be at least 2.8 ghz no less, but im lucky cuz i can get up to 300 - 800 dollors off any computer i want :D

  • sli 260 is good enough to run crysis on ultra at normal resolutions but who seriously plays on a 30 inch monitor lol so buying 280 is really for bragging rights but costs a lot more.

  • i got the 260 =[

  • i have the gtx280 its badass!

but you idiots come out with a new card like almost every other week. it gets so annoying and i hear the same stories on every card.."WOAH THIS IS THE CARD...ITS AMAZING YOU MUST HAVE IT!"...like seriously....? you bitch

  • the GTX 280 sucks, its way to expensive for the preformance.

  • @terry8998 do u still have ur 27\80 cause if u arent using it il buy it

  • @terry8998 thank u a bunch

  • But the quad SLI Asus GTX 295 Mars beats 3way SLI GTX 285

  • FYI tri-sli gtx 285 beats the quad-sli 295 by a bit

  • I just got my second 280 in the mail. I thought I had the right Sli cable but I guess not. Does anyone know what one I need for the SLI bridge?

  • try a flexible one

  • the thing at 1.42 says gtx280 twice :P

  • 1:13 and on I think they say GTX280 for both

  • w/ a 128mb g.card on laptop...i get 15fps....

  • "But hands down this is teh fastest card on the market"

    isnt the GTX 295 Faster?

  • not now but back in 2008 when he made this video so then not now

  • yeah, it was the fastest card when the video came out, also, the 295 isnt a single-gpu card.

  • Try looking at the date this video was posted.

The 295 was released months after this video.

  • he said single core

  • wasn't this posted July 23, 2008 ?

  • this came out before the 295 and if it didnt the clock speeds i think are higher

  • both, its faster from earlier

  • Can the thermaltake toughpower 600W PSU run the GTX280?

  • yes

  • lol i got 22inch wide screen and 9800GT 1GB of Vram and wow is piece of cake for me, running it everything on max and never had even a slowdown, ulduar 25man raids are superB never lag... you dont need gtx295 lol

  • THANK YOU. I plan on building a rig, and I wanted to know how this card would work, thanks.

  • would the gtx 260 work well in world of warcraft with a 19 inch monitor? plz reply

  • Yes.

I ran the 260 before I purchased another to run SLI. With the single you can max out all settings in WoW with a 19. At 1400x900 there is not slow down even in Dalaran. 25 man raids are flawless. enjoy.

  • lol a computer from 5 years ago can run wow..

  • im sure it will run WOW very well, i get 50 fps in crysis on mine with max resolution and max settings minus AA with an AMD9650 processor

  • No you need a GTX 295 to run that monster

  • yeah it should

my friend got 77 max fps

    its not 100

but cmon the difference is negligible

  • how much does the GeForce GTX 280M cost?

  • about $250. go on compusa they have it

  • which one the 512 or the 1GB?

Is the 280gtx alot better than the 9800gx2 ?

  • i think 1 gb. and im not sure what card is better looking at the benchmarks. but id go with the gtx 280 or the gtx 280 FTW

  • there is no gtx 280 that is 512mb, they only make 1gb ones. The 9800gx2 is a little better than the gtx 280. Its is probably on par with a gtx 285

  • a laptop with that card is around 3grand, the regular gtx 280 for pc however is like 250

  • I don't like that he purposely bashes people using CRT monitors. I personally use a 19" one and I see a sharper image then I see on many MANY flat screens.

  • Tri sli still can't play Crysis warhead at 1920 by 1200 with 8x AA and 16x AF. Those settings will crush 3 of these cards in sli let alone 2560 by 1600 with 8x AA and 16x AF. I need nvidia 300 series FUCKING NOW.

  • You know that Crysis Warhead needs less gpu power than crysis regular. They made it like that so more people can play it. And are you certain that 2x Asus rog mars cant max out crysis? Or maybe 3x of them. Each of those cards are the power of 2 gtx 285 cards = multi gpu. They cost more than 1000 dollars if i remember correct. They play Far Cry 2 in 3840x2160 in max settings in SLI :P

  • you know, if you guys want your games to run always smooth then I suggest that you just stick with a 19 or 21 inch monitor...max and not and HD monitor I mean that is kind of pointless, because if you use a resoliton of like say 2500 x 1000 or something like that, your games will lag up because your demanding much more power out of your card...and if you are using DX10 which vista only has, then that is even worse because that demands even more out of your card (unless you SLI)

  • if you guys really want smooth gaming, do what I do, use a normal 21 inch monitor or lower and no HD capabality, if you want HD then use your HDTV then....my monitor is a 19 inch VGA monitor, max resolution it gets is 1440 x 800 and I am totally fine with it...and also, much of the problems you guys get usually is because you guys raise your graphics settings to insane levels, geez...lower the graphics take away a bit of eye candy... but not all of it, graphics are not everything you know...

  • Are you sure that card can run in sli. 8 gpu is insane and may not be supported.

  • lol he's just reading it from the box :D

  • getting two gtx 285 evga

  • they have laptops with those now buy those its awesome!

  • what a dumb =)) at 1:29 there are the same cards

  • Great cards. Will last a while since these cards have enough horsepower to run virtually every game.

  • VERY nice tutorial, also i accidently pressed poor (1 star) but this deserves 5 stars definately

  • going HDMI? go for the new ati i guess.. no more "audio loop calbe / spdif" that is said to only have 5.1 channel sound at max.. the HDMI mode of ati has a max of 7.1 and u dont need to snoop around or mobo looking for the spdifs... and not all new nvidia cards have this special cable.. anyway.. either new cards are great for games!

  • he says top dog alot

  • Is S video connection for HD tv connection better than hdmi connection? This shit is all confusing to me; why are there multiple hi-def connection types? S-video/hdmi etc

  • S Video is pretty crap, honestly, use HDMI or DVI.

  • Does this card have an HDMI out for playing blue rays in hi-definition? I guess my question is do you even need an hdmi out to play bluerays in Hi-definition? I know you need a blue ray disk drive player.

  • Yes, you will need a hdmi cable (not included). If you are just watching blu-ray discs, don't bother with this card, google some ati cards, there is plenty that are cheap that handle HD better than this card. However if you are playing games too, consider the gtx 260/275/280/285/290, or Ati HD 4770/4850/4870/4890.

Only the dual gpu cards will come with a hdmi port, HOWEVER, all cards are capable of hdmi, they come with a DVI to HDMI dongle, to allow you to watch blu-rays exactly the same.

  • logan! logan!logan! bring him back!!!!!!!

  • yes yes yes yes pls

  • is the gtx 280 old now? is it still a good buy ($254 newegg), or should i go with the newer gtx 275?

  • just wait for the gtx 300 series to come out at the end of this year

  • these guys always mess up their fucking onscreen information.

  • Does the GeForce GTX 260 have the same specs as a GTX 260M?

  • no the M is nowhere near the 260s performance
