If you don't "tear up" when hearing this...sorry...we'll need to perform several medical tests to determine whether or not you have a heart...Tunesmith
This is my wife..... God, I am so lucky to have her. I want every man who reads this from now on.. "You give and inch she gives a yard". Don't ever forget that. If she love you don't ever break that trust. There is never any 15 minutes with somthing else to replace the love she has for you if she is like this woman. REMEMBER!!!!!
Love Marty Robbins. My pops was a fan and listened to him all the time I was growing up and I grew to love his music just as i grew to love the music of Johnny Cash.
My Daddy was a very talented singer, and he used to serenade my Mom with this song. He passed away just four days ago, I just had to hear the song again. I love you Daddy.
Another #1 hit for Marty Robbins on the Country & Western charts. It was the 184th #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. It also hit #1 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks charts. It also charted on the Canadian RPM Top Country Singles charts and the Canadian RPM Adult Contemporary Tracks charts.
I noticed that people write mostly about their mothers in comments on this video. It means remembrances about the mother and the notion "mother" is far more cherished in people's minds than thoughts about a spouse... although the subject of the song is a WIFE... Unfortunately, the notion "wife" doesn't bring the sweetest associations for lots of men...
...But at least the word "MOTHER" still remains sacred for many of us...
I've been away working for all but 7 days since 4/21. I loved his music and remember this song because it reminds me of "My Woman, MyWoman, My Wife" of nearly 43 years. God rest his soul. What a talent.
I will never forget dancing with my mother in the kitchen to this song and many others. Music is not made like this anymore......truly sad fact. My mother has passed but the memories these songs bring are amazing!!!
@ Caross......I almost come to tears every time as well.
when my dad died my mother played this over and over like so many Marty's songs he was my fathers favorite and he signed the only 8 track in his career for me what a very special man he is sooo missed
MOST marriages back then were for love & life!! MOST marriages today are for convenience & LUST, and only a RARE FEW last forever!
Marty Robbins was my MOST favorites of ALL male vocalists before & after...and my heart broke when he died on December 8, 1982!
The world lost a GREAT artist when this man died...and as old George Jones sings...WHO's going to fill their shoes?? The days of MUSIC died a LONG time ago!
True Love was what we should all sign on our Marriage License, that's what my parents did, and it never faltered. Thanks for the beautiful images and the facts about Marty. Wonderful, Wonderful, Great.
Marty Robbins was one of the greatest country artist ever. I was fortunate to see him live at a county fair in St. Charles back in the 80,s. Talk about stage presence and vocals, Marty had it all. We will always be thankfull for the time he was with us. Bruce McDonald, niles Mi.
i dedicate this song to my mama... she died 4 years ago today.. I think of her everyday still..~she was beautiful, she was strong, she was loving, she was wise, she was genuine, she was compassionate, she was loyal, she was always right, she was my hero, she is my MOM!~ 7/1/55-12/17/06
