I agree with you and kbb42000; a lot of the jams I grew up listening to over the very HI FI set I posted are only available on the original 45s and 78s. What's on CD are sadly, alternate takes. We thank you (and Chris Vengel, too) for these wonderful posts...
Where do you keep finding these rare songs that I loved and thought were my own but lost track of? Another brilliant find and another beautiful song that 99.99999% of the World's population will never get to appreciate.
One of your best posts ever, PJ! Not a clinker in the bunch. Both Chesters sides are great, the Cellos show their doo wop metal on the flip of 'Rang Tang Ding Dong', and i adore that one by the late Solomon Burke! How many rock 'n' roll/R&B tunes can boast having a trombone solo? Not many!
@yardlet6 I did make the comment 4 months ago it says directly below my name, that was made 3 months before he died seeing how he died last month, do the math. idk if ur being a wiseass or oblivious with ur attention to detail.
Beautiful music! I enjoy your clips a lot and use them frequently to discover new music. I then go record hunting. :) Are that/those Apollo sleeves original. Either way they are unbelievably cool.
You've got a good eye for being able to question the originality of those Apollo sleeves. No, they're not original, but I agree that they're incredibly cool. A collector had these made up about 6 years ago, and I was lucky enough to find out about them before they were all sold out. He did up Parrot, Blue Lake, Apollo, Red Robin and a few other labels. I was able to get my hands on 3 Apollos and 1 Red Robin. Hopefully they get printed again.. They're made of business card stock (really nice)
Okay, now that I have heard Lift up your head, I am positive it is a different version or remastered in some sort of way. The guitar in Lift up your head is much more prominent.
I think the version of Lift Up Your Head released on cd is a different take than the one issued on 45. The take of The Fires Burn No More released on the Collectables cds is most definitely different than the 45 version. It's very close, but not the same.
Hi PJ! - Another one of my favorites! Early Little Anthony Gourdine and The Imperials. Anthony doing the lead on both sides of The Chesters record before he went over to George Goldner's END records and made it big time! Thank you PJ for posting these sounds!
what can i say but you have some magical sounds man these are all classics love them all you keep them coming so i can keep on listening many thks mate.

Nice posting. Any idea if this is a different version. I ask because the harmony seems to be clearer than what I have heard on other postings.
