@VancouverRaver No way bud! Its water based paint via the airbrush so its harmless. Its not gonna dissolve the foam. I am currently on my 3rd EasyStar frame and all the electronics have survived!!! =) In my defense, a buddy crashed my last easy star lol.
@smartcocker I bought the RTF version of this model and it was a 3 channel set up (elevator, rudder and throttle) and I was wondering if it was possible to buy different wings with ailerons+servos and install it into my 3 channel version to turn it into a 4 channel trainer or am I just being ridiculous?
@shimanodude101 No, its possible. I thought about putting elevators on mine but havent. You can use the same wings just slightly modified. Google it, there is a site that is dedicated to Easy star mods, its great!
Hey but.. nice video! I'm thinking of going with the 6 series 2700kv motor like the one you have. Do you think it has enough power to handle fpv? How difficult was installation of the motor?
I have a lipo battery that last anywhere from 30-55 minutes depending on how many thermals i pick up. I have 4 batteries, so i could fly non stop as the first batter charges while the 1 is in the plane and 2 are ready to go.
@ZagarBostjan Sorry for the late response! Its water based paint! You cant go wrong with it. So I airbrushed it on. If you have the means, do it that way. Airbrush kits are fun and inexpensive, look on amazon.
The camera I used is a Vado which records 720p HD video. The quality is great as you can see. It fits PERFECTLY inside the cavity on top of the plane right next to the battery.
But I have now upgraded to a GoPro Hero HD. Records 1080p Video and weighs a bit more but well worth it. Vado = $100 GoPro Hero= $250.

I used a Vado HD camera available for under $100 although I have now upgraded to GoPro Hero HD that has much higher audio and video quality up to 1080p.
I know! Left turns Im sorry loll, i noticed it after I watched the video, but this was one of my first flights! I am now much braver and goo several hundred feet up!
Cant wait to post the new video its not as "boring" loll.

I thought painting this kind of foam dissolved it.. Am I wrong? Is there a special kind of paint to use?

@ehsanaman222 The installtion wasnt bad, I would say yes. It pushes my gopro on with no problem. Make sure you have the right CG!

How big is the camera? How do you know where to mount the camera for weight and balance?

I really like the tiger style paint job and it's soooooo much neater inside than my "rats nest" of an easystar battery bay!!!
i have to confess though.. I did get a bit dizzy when we seemed to be turning left a lot ;)
