I'd just like to point out that contrary to popular belief, not all pedophiles are child molesters. Some actually do want to seek help, but the problem is that there's so much hatred and refusal to understand the issue that even if they have NOT acted on their attractions, they're still dehumanized. Do you think they like what they are any more than society does? If they're not expected to be any better, they won't act it, and so the more they're demonized, the more likely they'll offend.
South Park didn't do an episode on this to bring awareness. They did the episode to show how stupid and unjustifiable it is! I'd just like to point out that contrary to popular belief, not all pedophiles are child molesters. Some actually do want to seek help, but the problem is that there's so much hatred and refusal to understand the issue that even if they have NOT acted on their attractions, they're still dehumanized. Do you think they like what they are any more than society does? If they're not expected to be any better, they won't act it, and so the more they're demonized, the more likely they'll offend.
