I'd never listened to it before, but had a little hark at the prog on Radio4 Extra. The theme tune is basically the same one as we played in our video (ie the version collected in Adderbury , Oxon), albeit speeded up a bit from morris dance pace. A very similar version was used in many Cotswold villages, with an odd note changed here or there to suit a fiddle or a whistle.
They're all derived, I think , from Baa Baa Black Sheep (or maybe it was the other way round?).
This is splendid . Do you know what version (clearly a Morris one) of 'Shepherd's Hey' is used as the sig tune of the BBC Radio Four version of 'Agatha Raisin'?
Hi. I really like this video and would like to show it to a class of Year 3 children so we can practise it. I can't get round the firewall at school to show it. Is it possible to download it? Or could you send me it via E-mail please? Ta Mrs Shek.
Hi! You should be able to download it to your PC while working in Windows Explorer, through the basic version of Real Player which is available free as a download if you haven't got it. Just right click the image while the video is playing and you get a drop down menu, the last option being "download to Real Player". It then goes to your RealPlayer Library and you should be able to lift the file from there onto a USP stick or similar. Message me if stuck!
