@sweiger10 Jared Paul is an incredible spoken word poet! I've enjoyed hearing him on other tracks. I am so excited to check out the solo work on his album.
i don't no.. olp's last two albums were way to mainstream for my liking.. Raine really showed his creative side with this album. I'm hoping Burn Burn is more like there first 4 albums.
I just pointed a gun at my best friend, alright? But everything's okay because I took the clip out. But I guess these Beretta's are famous for having 13 bullets and there's a bullet still in the chamber." Raine Maida
the clip back in the box thinking, I'm fine. So I go and sneak behind this corner and I can see him with my left eye and I'm gonna scare him when he comes by. So my left eye can see him, and my left eye sees him turning the corner, and I'm holding the gun like this, like Starsky would. And he comes around the corner and I say Bang! and he falls and he's almost in tears. He's laughing and crying, he's not sure what to do.
"This song is a true story about a friend of mine. We were down south staying at a friend's house and this one person had a really cool looking gun. He told me it was a Beretta. It's like a handgun, a real gun, right? So my friend is in the garage or is out in the back or something and I'm playing with this gun. I used to be this super huge Starsky and Hutch fan. So I'm holding the gun thinking I'm pretty cool I guess. I take the clip out because I dont want to hurt anyone obviously. So I put
Sounds pretty cool. Hopefully they can bounce back from their previous two albums, which I thought were dissapointing (I blame Bob Rock, who seems to have 'lost it' and is not the producer he once was).
Is the full song somewhere on youtube? omg i love raine so much! i missed his concert when he came here but it was amazing says my friend, tee hee she brought me sweet ass pins:)
Are you referring to this video specifically or just putting that out there? Just wondering. As far as I know, this is off Raine's solo album, not an indication of where OLP is going. However, in regards to OLP, I also don't like where they are going. Guitar riffs arn't the same since Mike left, Jeremy's drumming is not demonstrating his actual skill and Raine's lyrics are not cryptic anymore. Also, he doesn't play with his voice as much.
well see OLP has changed alot like you said mike leaving and stuff and Raines Voice has changed too its not so high and nasaul ive alwasy ed love OLp and i loe Raine Maida solo album stuff they are both good in my opion diffrent but good
His (solo raine) style reminds me somewhat of Thom Yorke, it's a very smart lyrical compilation that can be mimicked, but never replicated. I don't know if i like it , like i like OLP, but regardless it's raw talent, which alot of today's music lacks.
:o i love Raine maida's solo stuff anyways i was scared that he wasnt going to make anymore olp albums so i e-mailed him and he actuaaly wrote back (i was impressed :P) anyways he told me that OLP is just fine and he just needed to get this stuff out of his head so i was really happy =)
Neither can I, Jolene241, neither can I. I LOVE Raine's solo work so far. I have the "Love Hope Hero" EP and it's so, so awesome. It's such a tease, though, to an entire album...
I tried to do that, but since I don't live in Canada, it didn't work...it was something like that...anyway, I'll just be patient and wait for the CD...*sigh* It's gonna be hard; I'm a REALLY impatient person! ;)
Their first couple albums were the best of OLP
