got some dust in my eye as i watched this, just in from a walk with my dog, aint i lucky to be able to do that? as i was growing up my dad said to me- son, dont worry about the Cold War, the two powers are too intelligent, worry about others...he was right. Please excuse me, but what is the name of the background music? I love this particular piece and would like to know what it is so I can listen to it outside of this video.
Speaking of the video, this was a great tribute. Dogs are such wonderful beings. Thank you for sharing this.
@VSKinzer Thanks for the kind words! The music isn't available to the general public. It's production music that media companies buy to use as background music. Sorry.
This touched my heart so much, a beautiful piece of music.I have a German Shepherd rescue, and now it i they who are doing the rescuing. Can you tell me what this wonderful music is called?By the way a good video also.
@Tarameg3 Thank you! The music isn't available to the general public. It's production music that media companies buy to use as background music. Sorry. : (
A beautiful tribute. I am deeply touched. September 11th is my birthday and it is wonderful to see how much these dogs, heroes every one, contributed to the search and rescue efforts. Unconditional love...unconditional loyalty...unconditional heroism.
Burning aircraft fuel doesn't melt steel, nor does it turn concrete to dust! You Tube; ' Plane Hits Empire State Building '. Wake up and smell the coffee! Killing Osama Bin Ladin, was just tying up loose ends. Everyone that took part in that raid is now dead, because their helicopter was shot down!
A most beautiful and deserved tribute to the dogs and humans who took part in the search. God knew what He was doing when He gave us the most loyal and love giving of 4 footed friends and companions. Thank you for posting this!
i just watched this before i have to go to class and im almost in tears. God bless the amazing puppies of america! and RIP Sirius hes so adorable. what heroes
Yeah, remember this the next time you're about to ditch your dog at the shelter because you're "moving", or whatever your lame excuse is. They will do anything to help us, so let's try to treat them with a little bit of respect too. That's not too much to ask.
And PETA wants to wipe these & all of our beautiful dogs who are part of our families OFF OF THE EARTH!! Many of these are purebred dogs, and PETA wants to end the ownership of all domestic animals. They are quietly lobbying for legislation (successfully) to regulate and end the breeding of dogs. They do this under the guise ending puppy mills, but they are causing responsible dog breeders to either stop or go underground!! DO NOT SUPPORT PETA or this will be a distant memory!!
And for Git Ander May he always be remembered: Sunday, September 30, 2001 World Trade Center Rescue Dog Shot and Killed - An unfortunate case of mistaken identity has resulted in the death of one of New Jersey's finest rescuers. "Git Ander", a seven-year-old German Shepherd who searched for survivors in the rubble of the World Trade Center was shot to death by two Plainfield police officers who mistook him for a vicious stray.... No one was ever charged for his 'murder' ;(
@InspiringMotion actually a recent Study finds "minimal" health impacts on canine 9/11 rescuers :the study was conducted by the American Kennel Club's Canine Health Foundation (CHF). Couldn't post a link to this post- but check out the philadelphia inquirer
Dear Kenn- this is absolutely beautiful. My father was one of the S&R teams from Utah with Utah Task Force 1. His dog was Kenji. As I look at the pics I see him. He is the black lab on the photo you have titled "worked obediently". I am pretty sure. Thank you for putting this together. Kenji is gone now. He left us about 18 months ago. He was a remarkable dog with a bullet proof vest while he worked at Ground Zero. We will NEVER forget! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This was beautiful. Thank you so much for paying tribute to the animals who helped save lives and who also lost their lives that day. They too are heroes.
And in a changing world, where animals remain disposable "things" to so many, we kill 5 million each year in our shelters! It's time to remember those innocent souls, victims of indifference and greed (the puppy mills that continue to breed and make money off the suffering of caged animals, while others are killed for want of a home). Let's remember those victims too! When you turn in a dog or cat to a shelter, chances are he/she will never get out alive! Remember that!
My dog Jasper has a tribute to Sirius on his blog, also to the two guide dogs, Roselle & Dorado, who led their blind owners down the towers to safety. There's a book by someone called Nona Kilgore Bauer - "Dog Heroes of September 11th"; Think you can get it on Amazon (about the Search Dogs). David Lim, Sirius' partner survived. Somewhat amazingly, Sirius' body was found in the rubble & Officer Lim helped to carry him out and lay him to rest.
@RoonJazz Oops! I should've waited to the end before posting about what happened with Sirius & Officer Lim. I liked the bit about the dogs' comforting skills. It's true.Tough guys, hardened cops, firefighters, steelworkers, etc., who naturally find it hard to unburden themselves to people often turned to the S&R dogs & just clung to them, sobbing into their fur & whispering into their ears, while the dogs just sat and listened patiently. No-one can put a price on the comfort a dog provides. x
One of the greatest things to happen to me was the day I got my dog, Clipper, who I named after a brave hero dog who died in trying to rescue his human friend. More than 10 years and counting I still will never understand how my wise furry Labrador provides comfort with one touch of his little paw. I love you my dear dear four legged friends. Thank you for always guiding me.
Good work all 'em! I wonder how many people owe their lives to these canine rescuers? And its certainly a tribute to their handlers coz it's always a partnership.
They should give them some protection for their feet though in those environments. Over here they wear dog boots (dog boots?) over their paws so they can go everywhere.
God bless ALL dogs in this world. They are faithful without any doubt, and this is just one of the many reasons why dogs are so much better than mankind itself. Risking their lives for literally anyone.
God bless the whole world and those who have died in not only 9/11 but tragedies in general.
I think Git Ander, a German Shepherd rescue dog from 9/11 should be remembered as well. i'm not 100% positive about this but i've seen some articles online...
Whati is sad to me is these wonderful fur people are dying just as the other first responders... Does anyone know if there is a memorial to them ? I have saved several dogs from death row and you have to know they always end up as the best dog you ever had............. Wonderful video !
Wonderful video, wonderful, please tell me there is a memorial being made for our beautiful canine heroes, as well as to the beautiful people we lost that day, our hearts will forever cry for all the emergency workers and the innocent victims. God Bless you for this, and God Bless all the families who lost their loved ones. Michele
Please take a few moments to honor all of the heroes of Sept. 11. Man and dog worked side by side to rescue and discover those trapped in the devastation of the Twin Towers. Most of the workers and dogs that worked on that ruble became sick from exposure to dangerous air born particles like abestos many have died because of this
and there is alot of many locals with cronic illness..
God bless those dogs and workers and forever damn those idiot muslims they should be ashamed of themselves and to even think of building a mosk near the 911 site..
@hiewy We have actually been luckier than that. So far none of the dogs have suffered from long lasting illness due to exposure from the WTC or the Pentagon. We have not have any canine handlers, to date, suffer from ilness either. Let's keep our fingers crossed! We did medical scanning, thanks to Univ. of Penn. and the good people of Iam's, that showed no major work related problesm in any of the dogs. This study was done for 5 years.

WONDERFUL video.... great job on it BUT.....is there no record of how many lives were saved because of these dogs or how many bodies were found to give those families peace of mind?
Absolute hero's but there is one dog that I will never forget - that is Git Ander who was MURDERED while working on rescue during 911 Google Git Ander and read his story !!!!
@TheDogFiles I did try to post the link to his story but it wouldn't accept it - sorry - but there are stories all over the media about it. It is easy to freak out and panic during the rescue and recovery for sure - but the dog was wearing a vest - he was shot 11 times - the investigation, well nothing came from it sadly - no justice for Git Ander :(
How can anyone ever hurt an animal -most will go through hell and back for just love. I work for a rescue league and so many stories will break your heart. This one is indeed a tribute to the wisdom, loyalty and the comfort of unconditional love animals are willing to give. Thanks to all the very brave dogs of 9/11-those of you that are now gone may you rest in peace knowing you helped a grieving nation.
For God so loved Man that he sent him a companion to watch over him and HE called him " d-o-G ".
Am I the only 1 who had to stop the video to cry? These Beings give us unconditional love all of their lives and protect us and even preform unbelievable acts of compassion; returning loved ones for burial. Truely, God dwells within their hearts and they have souls.
That just made me tear up. Yesterday my teacher at my Veterinary Assistant class told us a story about the SAR dogs. She said that the dogs got too depressed after finding so many bodies in the rubble, so other emergency workers would have to take turns hiding so that the dogs would stay psychologically healthy.
Thank you to the dogs who helped and comforted us that day, and to the animals who have comforted and loved us every day of their lives. You are true heroes.
Thank you for this stoic tribute. I just watched it with my cow dogs and we all teared up a bit. God Bless America and especially our heroic fur kids! :)
this video REALLY touched me the dogs were ADORABLE and the music just blew me away i love this video and the dogs were really helpful and heros and i feel HORRIBAL for the families who lost there loved ones and the dogs who lost there lives.
No Kill Nation posted this on their Facebook page today and I wanted to come over to click 'like' and let you know how much I appreciate your video. I want to thank you for the info added at the end about Sirius, since many people aren't aware of him or that he died in his kennel while his partner went upstairs alone to investigate. Bless him for his service and his soul that day. Thanks again.
@onekinkstar perhaps this time my reply/comment will actually get through...and they suffered and died for their efforts, like the 900 First Responders dead and unrecognized, the thousands sick, disabled, forgotten...They are all victims as well. (except that the dogs had no choice..they did what they were told, went where they were told...may all the victims be at peace...
A beautiful tribute to all involved. Thank you. Our dogs will give and give to help us humans without expecting anything in return. I wish we humans could be half as wonderful as our four-legged friends!
I'm grateful for this beautiful film that brings the sacrifices made by so many, including the hero dogs, into beautiful focus. Thank you. It helped me weep again for my countrymen and women who suffered, served and died there 9 years ago. My heart bleeds with yours.

The dogs had no masks and didn't understand that that us humans have for each other but give us so much love and their lives so unselfishly they deserve so much more respect than we give them..Thank you for this beautiful tribute to the wonderful dogs who rescue and save humans every day. Please adopt/spay/neuter and don't breed or buy dogs or cats to many die to in shelters every year..

@Milisabelle We have actually been luckier than that.

TheBTKFOREVER1 1 year ago
@TheBTKFOREVER1 Very few people were found alive. It was mostly about finding remains of people.

Absolute hero's but there is one dog that I will never forget - that is Git Ander who was MURDERED while working on rescue during 911 Google Git Ander and read his story !!!!
cvfa 1 year ago
@cvfa Wow, what a tragedy!! Talk about bad judgement.
TheDogFiles 1 year ago

@mymyfred I was in tears while I was creating it.
