  • it made me really sad when I saw how much the quality dropped in the second season. the second season wasn't very good...and ended very unfinished aside from maybe 2 of the girls

  • I know you put the spoiler warning on and all, but the spoiler you still listed can still be read from the search screen. Just letting you know.

This scene is really great. I heard that the English dub was really well done and this scene supports that statement a lot. I should rewatch the show in English some day.

  • i don't blame you for crying gunslinger girl is a sad show.

  • um why are you guys acting like the characters in the video

  • I like Henrietta she's cool and everything.

  • なんで英語やねん~

  • This is so fucking tragic thanks to what happens later on in the manga.

  • @whitleylaughs it was terrible... I cant believe they are dead....

  • Elsa is such a sad case. You can't blame her though things would have been fine if Lauro wasn't a cold hearted bastard. If she only had a better handler.

  • this is the best dub i EVER heard of any anime!!! it's simply amazing, just like each of the gunslinger girls... this anime is so sad and beautiful :'(

  • A silent "If you don''t love me, I'll kill myself" from Henrietta to Jose, if you ask me.

  • I love Gunslinger Girl Henrietta is so important to Jose such a cute relationsip they have

  • What is the song called when Henrietta Starts her dream?! Please somebody tell me. Thanks in advanced.

  • holy cow that scared the crap out of me thought she shot herself in the eye wow.

  • Man, their voices are so calm...I like it...

  • its sad thoe i mean elsa should have had more respet from laruo and she envyed herietta but then again its sorta like marco and angelica but she wouldnt kill her self

  • wow... just wow, this is such a good dub :)

  • boom head shot

  • I cried during this the first time I saw it

  • @VDaySnowstorm

    So did I.

  • @VDaySnowstorm me to

  • Blam. Don't not love the little girls. Moral learned.

  • why did Lauro show no love to Elsa. She would've done anything for him. Why couldnt he be like Jose, kind and caring.

  • You can't really blame Lauro; like Jose said, he was just an ordinary guy who took on a job. Don't forget, Lauro was an intelligence agent/black ops officer; they're not really known for their kind dispositions. A lot of guys in his line of work would be a little creeped out by all the affection these little child assassins heap upon their handlers. He just didn't know how to handle it.

  • @mn102 The best relationships between Fratello's is Jose's with Henrietta and Hillshire's with Triela being a Close Second.

  • This brings tears to my heart, forsaken girls treated to an extent of cruelty like Elsa master.

  • Elsa Only Killed herself Because Lauro was not Treating her like a Sister He used her only as a TOol for money gain, He didnt Care for her feels or Life, he Only needed the Money cause it Brought him thing he Never had without her

  • I LOVE THIS ANIME! im getting the manga and the 1rst season dvd set. cant wait =P

  • Lauro was a cold-blooded - you know what - and it destroyed both himself AND Elsa.

  • cool :)

  • I't wasn't elsa's fault it was her handler.

  • Poor elsa

    *tear, sniff*

  • This is why they should have kept a thorough and up to date psych evaluation on all the agents. Even Jean said, after this incident, that the system still needs some tweaking because of hazards like this. If the findings from the investigation got out, they'd likely shut their branch down.

  • Henrieeta can't be 8.....is she??? I thought she was 12 too.

  • this dub is really and i mean really good

  • I agree :)

  • The voices are horrible. Emotionally, to listen to. It's haunting. I find it much better than the Japanese originals.

  • I agree. I'm sorry, but I don't hear the emotion in the Japanese version, it's just that's it's such a monotone language.

  • I used to have the same issue, but belive me, it's a practise thing. I had a lot of difficulty empathising with the voices when I first started watching it in Japanese, but within a few series, it starts becoming very obvious.

Comedy/light hearted series are best, they tend to be a bit more obvious about that sort of stuff.

And of course often enough the English dub is very flat, due to either poor VA selection, or bad translation, etc.

  • @Kari166 watch code geass with subs and the later episodes Lelouch's voice and CCs will slowly come to blow your mind, plus have you even LISTENED to the difference in Light's death speech in Death Note...versus the English one...what acting

  • @semjaavria, yes, I have watched both versions of Death Note, Code Geass isn't for me. I'm sorry, but I just don't hear the emotion in the original dub. :P

  • @Kari166

That's because their language isn't made to present emotion, but with some practice listening, you'll recognize the emotions in their language easily.

  • @piIlsbury15

Henrietta:"What would happen if you loved someone? Loved them with all your heart like you never thought you could...but you realize one day that they will never EVER fell that way for you?"

    [Flashback scene with Elsa]

Henrietta:"If it were me...I would kill that person...and then...I would do this!" *Grabs gun, points it toward her eye*

[Scene switches back and forth from flashback to present]

  • Henrietta:"You can calm down now I wouldn't shoot...How can I kill myself while you're this wonderful Jose? You know no one has ever been this good to me"

God I love this scene and episode...One of the BEST scenes in the first season PERIOD.

  • @piIlsbury15 yeah i actually almost did not watch this video because it said english dub :D

  • ^^ O wow... D;

  • this is the best anime (and manga) ever! This is the best episode of Gunslinger Girl. I kinda feel sorry for Elsa because I mean she's just a little girl (I thienk she's 12) I also feel sorry for Henrietta because in the episode where they first interduce Elsa, Henrietta tried to reach out to her and she told her all this stuff about how they only have thier Handlers and she she really hurt Henrietta's feelings. I mean she's only 8, has to go hurting her like that. I hated Elsa after that.

  • X_O . . .

  • Poor Elsa. Got stuck with a cold asshole like him..

  • That's easy enough to say when you're not suddenly put in charge of a dying little girl who you have to psychologically manipulate into being a murderer.

It's called 'clinical detachment'. I don't think it's any worse than pretending to care, all of the handlers are morally bankrupt.

  • I guess your right, but look how much better off Henrietta is, still messed but having a kind handler kept her less messed up.

  • That's debateable, since the only way she's really better off is that she isn't dead. She seems happy because she has nothing either in the present or in her future and a few crumbs of kindness seem like a big deal in that situation.

Not killing herself doesn't really make her less messed up.

  • She's messed up, sure, but the relationship that Jose and Henrietta have is a lot more open and supportive. Elsa had nothing of the sort.

And aside from anything else, she seems happy because the human that she's been wired to love seems to reciprocate her affection, at least on some level.

  • >relationship that Jose and Henrietta have is a lot more open and supportive.

I think you mean 'less overtly manipulative.'

    >And aside from anything else, she seems happy because the human that she's been wired to love seems to reciprocate her affection, at least on some level.

Yes. And? I addressed that already.

  • Jose's never presented as manipulative, Or abusive. He's also shown as being against heavy conditioning, and I belive he gets into an argument with one of the others over that issue.

"She seems happy because she has nothing either in the present or in her future and a few crumbs of kindness seem like a big deal in that situation.".

This is never really dealt with in the show. Her thoughts about the future, and her relative place in things isn't dealt with either. You're guessing.

  • >Jose's never presented as manipulative, Or abusive

No, conditioning a child to kill is neither of those things. You're totally right, my bad.

Stabbing someone gently while apologising doesn't make you less of a murderer.

    >This is never really dealt with in the show etc

Extrapolating is not guessing. It's entirely reasonable to make that statement you quoted from observation. Disagreeing for no reason, as you're doing, is guessing.

  • He wasn't the one responsible for any of that. He just took the job afterwards. He's not a controller, nor the doctors that performed the procedures.

You have no observations to strongly back that up. You've put foward a very strongly worded statement over very nebulous evidence. She's never expressed any angst over her future, or past, or how that Jose is the single spec of light in her life. It's a possibility, but there's really no evidence from the shown to say that it's definitive.

  • >He wasn't the one responsible for any of that.

    He.....doesn't condition her? O RLY?

    >He just took the job afterwards.

Presumably you think getting paid removes moral considerations from an action.

    >Pompous words.

If you're going to try to turn this into a logical debate, it would be smart to not start with a strawman of my position. Unless you think there's all this Cool Stuff she gets to do offscreen that we never see?

  • Actually, PM me if you're going to respond. No need for us to fag up the comment list with what I suspect is going to turn into a NO U contest.

  • Just like there's really no evidence about your fan-made theory that Solid Snake and Otacon (from Metal Gear Solid) are gay, right? You hypocrite.

  • Henrietta in a fatherXdaughter relationship is WIN

  • I'm ssssssoooooo glad I got this DVD!! :D

  • what episode is this ??? thnax for the video love the anime but i only seen episode 1 & 2

  • This is episode 11. You should really watch the ret! ^__^ GSG is my favorite anime.

  • waths that awesome instrumental song called??? in 0:58 minute

  • The song's called Desperazione,1 of my most favorite songs on the Gunslinger Girl OST.Right next to Tema I,II,III,IV,V and VI...Basically,I love all versions of Tema and this song.

  • Pretty good dub. I usually dislike them (Death Note, for instance), and prefer the subs. Here, though, I could watch either.

  • there is only up to ep 7 il teatrino subs..

  • very good but once you see all the episodes with subs it just isnt the same

  • like this part or this episode poor elsa

  • where did u get the dubs from ?

  • I think this has a much bigger impact in the English than in the Japanese. I love this scene. I love the way Henrietta says: "I would kill that person... and then... I would do this!" The voice acting in GSG is amazing!

  • I agree! <3

  • LOL see what happens when you don't love your cyborgs as much as they love you? THAT'S LOVE FOR YA!Elsa shooting Lauro for not loving her back is like a chick telling Hannibal Lector to go fuck himself,LMAO.

  • Thanks for posting a response in the english dubbed. I only have subbed. How'd you get it? PM me about it?

  • I have the complete box set from Funimation :) You can get it online from lots of places (like Amazon) or at Best Buy!

  • is there any chance you could upload the dubs or even just 11.12.13 i would be eternally gratefull
