The most of the dialects in China have one thing in common: They are difficult to understand to others that don´t know the dialect even if they speak Mandarin ("Putonghua" which the majority of China´s inhabitants speaks). Cantonese is the main "language" in Hong Kong and around the Canto area, but Mandarin have gotten more and more important these last years, which includes Mandarin "language" in schools in Hong Kong

I think what its portraying is that life is hard, but unlike most people he's lucky enough to have someone that cares, his sister . She gives him hope , and that changes the way he sees things . & i think they use symbolism with the hamster & the fishy, the end of something good, kinda sad, but the beginning of something greater . hmm, just my opinion . :B
