This is fucking awesome i have been a fan since the 90"s got to see them in my home town of johnson city tn. two times once with ac/dc then years later at very small night club
Saw them do this live many many times back in the day. They used to play clubs around here all the time. I don't think I ever missed a show. If you get the chance to hear some of the old Sneak Preview stuff, don't miss out on it. If you're a King's X fan you'll love it.
My Sneak Preview vinyl LP was the best $1 record purchase of my life! One of my most coveted possessions! This is one great cover from that era! Thanks for posting!
It is King's X as "The Edge." Circa 1983 I think. You can hear why they were eventually signed by a major lable. There is a better copy of this file floating on the Net somewhere that somebody cleaned up and remastered with protools but I can't find it anymore. I hate to be sacreligious, but I think this remake is better than the Beatles original.
Yup, that's unmistakably Doug's voice and Ty's style as an "80's" rocker out of place with what they were to eventually become. In Ty's own words, "we were trying to please everybody but ourselves" and "before King's X, we played cover tunes, but always with heavier guitars." Just reread an Oct. 1991 GW interview w/Ty where he said all that & more. However, Ty being a Beatles fan I think they were [pleasing themselves] in this case & they put their signature stamp on this tune. Great!
One of a kind group of guys

There were a few "The Edge vids on Youtube last year... Looks like they've been deleted? Anyone have a link... They were cool songs.

i'm an avid fan.
7.11.1999 in Knoxville TN. was was one of the best nights of my life!
b.t.w.: not a Beatles song per se, but George Harrison.
also; Ringo [Richard Starkey] is credited as having the 1st post-beatles hit,
but many year later George [who produced] admitted to having contributed to the writing of Ringo's hit "it don't come easy".
ALSO: though there be FEW who seem to discern it,
i do still hear the influence of Phil Keaggy [even on tour in 2009] on Ty's Guitar playing.

Yes, George Harrison song. I wish Doug could still sing like this. He has gotten old, and with all the constant Pot, a bit lazy on vocal performance.

That sounds like Doug and feels like 'Sneak Preview's' energy as well. Great to hear.
