And yes, if we were any closer or further from the sun, there would be no life on earth. That doesn't prove that there is a god, because there are plenty of universes that have no inhabited planets. There is life here because the circumstances were so that earth could support it.

@TheKith88 I don't think so. The earth itself is MUCH older than that (documented irrefutable evidence), so by your logic, that would have happened. But it didn't. The big bang theory is a shaky, if you're thinking that the universe just randomly cropped up. That's just nonsense, as you can't get something from nothing. The only logical thing, then, is to assume that the universe has always been in existence. What's more plausible : Something we have seen and can study being real, or gawd?

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think he realizes his own hypocrisy when he lives in a Christian country and does not think he needs to explain why he wasn't raised a Christian. In any case, it is like asking why you like pasta instead of chappatis, or couscous instead of rice, because if you are a "real" Indian, you should eat rice or chappatis.
