Well to be honest I believe I can actually answer that question with ease. It was when they released The Peace! They were still on the conservative dress before Yuuko graduated but when Iida became leader thereafter Tsunku brought morning musume into the next era. And then we got the dreadful 5th gens, 6th gens, Koharu, Mittsi, JunJun and LinLin. Oh how this group has changed.

I think it was a bit sooner than that. They started leaning more into the "sexier" area around the 2nd generation (Summer Night Town) and then got better at it when "Koi No Dance Site" was released. I mean...LOOK at Mari! Every time she looks at the camera, it's with sultry lust! Lol. But I do think they changed most once 5th gen joined.

It's not sexuality that made me notice morning musume. It's the funky music, and it's also some of their lyrics (when translated, they make sense and raise some good points sometimes). And they look like they know how to have fun (they're upbeat MORNING people).

Wow it is strange how their image changed so much so fast. 1997 was 12 years ago. This looks like it was made in so much more of an innocent era. All the girls are wearing turtlenecks and all kinda stuff. Lately the girls wear next to nothing in videos.

Not exactly... i discovered that Ai no Tane was just a "sample song from a unnamed group", but since they sold very well this song.. then they became MORNING MUSUME and officially relased Morning Coffee as their first single.

I am a guy, I love everything H!P just about. I am straight. I love the music and how it makes me feel.. so uplifting. Truth is, Asian girls aren;t my type except for personallity. I am 26, and I can honestly say I just find some of the girls mildly cute but nothing that makes me flip my lid. Some of their personallities are sweet, I guess I kinda like that. I don't have any sexual feeling toward them though.
