  • Your friend looks like Keanu Reeves XD from that angle of your piece anyways. Very nice. im not sure how to put it into words, maybe its the range of colours and style, but im loving it : )

  • bigger brush

  • great painting. The shirt you're wearing reminds me of a hospital gown.

  • @lalalaina4life ahahahahaa!

  • @lalalaina4life It does look like a hospital gown. lol. But I paint in old scrub/hospital shirts because I have ruined so many clothes with paint - plus they have cool pockets.

  • why would you show only this? This is just you filling in an area of the forehead. Or am i missing something?

  • wich coulor use for the face?

  • I think this is really beautiful. And all the comments on here are silly. You have skills and it really shows. As for the photo/life debate, why not have a "What is art" debate while your there. Don't be a jerk to someone who works hard just because "you think" you can do it better and it's easy.

  • not bad as an high school student level, but this isnt really "painting" painting it's more like filling in colors in a color bk

also use more complementary colors to create "grey" instead of just black and white

neutral color palette is not the same as a greyish painting

  • what colour/s id u used in his skin??

  • @Vrodlust ummm its his painting he can use what ever color he wants, there are no rules on what one should and should not use.. maybe he wants a certain effect so BTFO

  • this is so good, i wanna do it, i love it.

  • Awesome! what kind of skin color to you use... burnt sienna?

  • Yes, but anyone can paint from a photograph...

  • so did bacon

  • I find it unimpressive - I even draw from Photograph easily. When one can paint that well from observation, then I am impressed. It is much harder.

  • so are you the queen and no its not that different working from a model it is merly more strenuous work it requires no more skill and costs more to employ the model

  • It is so much more different I am telling you! Working from life is different because it is your job to take a 3-Dimesional thing and turn it into something 2-Dimensional. With a photograph, its already 2-Dimensional, so there really is no problem solving or work involved.

  • There are many objectives in fine art. It depends what is your one. Art is not just a technical issue.

There is no comparison between life painting and painting from a photograph, it's a different thing.

It's important what you want to say and how.

  • Yeah. I suppose you are correct - I am an Art student right now, so I am focusing on skill and technical aspects of art. I am trying to work on getting an art scholorship and my college wants to see technical skill.

  • what university are studying at

  • I actually am in High School and looking for colleges. I am hoping to study in Milwaukee Wisconsin though.

  • go to london or berlin

  • then do it, and post a video up of it :)

  • I do have a drawnig from a photograph up, if that counts... Shows ho easy art from photo is.

  • @ElementaryPhysics working from a photograph still requires ability as it requires all the skills of a photographer to take the photograph. I find it much easier to work from life as there isn't a definitive photo telling you that you have done something wrong.

  • @Sudgy

stupid! raw photorealism needs no talent and has no style..it just looks awesome to the eyes of those who dont know about art...there are some exceptions though. photorealism mixed with something else

  • @Heineken6590 You're wrong. Photorealism does require a tremendous amount of patience and technical ability to apply the correct paint. Whilst it may not be the most creative, it is still a perfectly legitimate art form. I know lots about art and it looks awesome to me, although I will agree it generally does appease the more casual crowd. Have you ever attempted photorealism?

And also if you take the photograph is that not a creative aspect? Or is photography also talentless?

  • @Sudgy I agree and i wouldn't say that if i hadn't tried photorealism,in fact that was my style since last year..

my point is that it requires more technical skills than talent so more people are able to achieve it..

conclusion... more acceptable from the common viewer which is very good, and easy to sell,,but with low possibilities in fantasy ,,,its just realism,,

  • @Heineken6590 hahaha wow,.... anyone with their youtube name named after a shitty beer isn't someone whom I give a shit about their outlook on what's good art... get a life buddy

  • That's a bit harsh isn't it?

  • @ElementaryPhysics

i'd like to see you try, this is called using refrence, it is necessery when you do a portrait or a study, or even painting an object in order to get all the small details

  • thanks for the tips :)

  • This is what I like to see, a real painter using real paint and not the digital equivalent.

  • omg you're amazingggggggggg

    so jealous! :(

  • Yes

  • Your good!!

  • great five stars for you

  • Wonderfull.

  • excellent
