Thanks for the subscribe, I'll help you out with a couple of comments. First, good lifting and form! 225 is not an easy weight to move. I dont know what you do for your warm up, but to help you get a few more reps there is a few things you can do. First, do a full body warm up to increase your blood temp, like x jacks, jumping jacks, med ball slams, and a couple clapping pushups.
Then, work up to approx 90 percent of your 1 rm. Lets say your 1 RM is 300 lbs. Do just the bar for 8, 134X5, 225X1, 280X1, then go down and rep your 225. 2-3 min rest between the heavier sets. This recruits more muscle fibers and activites more motor units to help your rep 225. Now, 225 will actually seem lighter when you start. It should help you get at least one more rep in. Its a popular technique at the nfl combine and helped my brother go from 21 to 24 reps for his testing. Good luck!
thanks well its a two part training i usually do 6 80 yard sprints then aglity ladders and stuff like that for 1hr30 mins then we go in and work out for another hr
yeah im used to it though like last sunday we had to do 5 80 yard sprints then on each walk back to the line we had to do 10 rocket jumps then 2 min break and then we did 6 60 yard sprints and some plyometrics....then i did 2 sets of 225 once for 8 then the second for 7
That's what i'm talking about my friend. That was strict! Nice job! You had 8, he definitely helped you on the last one but that's ok before you know it you'll be doing 225 for 12. If you're playing football you should bring the weight down and UP. Try 275 STRICT just like that for 5. Then get to 300 for 3. Keep in touch.
There's only one way to find out.If you can do 8 solid, strict 225 like that, than you should be able to max it no problem. Try to get 3. What's your cardio situation considering that you're training for football? The more in-shape you are cardio wise the more strengh you will have lifting, that's a fact. Good luck, keep at it.
oh ok i guess ill give it a try then...for cardio we do 1 hour to 1 30 mins of agility and speed training before we go into the weight room and we stay in the weight room for 45 mins to an hour
Thats retarded, max is only 15 more pounds than your 12 rep? And who reps 230, u just had to toss those 2.5's on? Sounds like a lie.

@mikeypsvcc, what no one uses 2.5s anymore? I use em to have 200lbs on the bar, almost 45s 35s , but not quite yet :|
