I assume you're referring to Dan 8:12, if you notice the word 'sacrifice' in that verse is in italics, meaning it was supplied by the translators. The word 'daily' is the Hebrew 'tamiyd' which is used to refer to the daily ministry of the sanctuary, which prefigures the work of Christ in the Heavenly Sanctuary. I believe the preacher adequately addressed how the papacy effectively blocked this ministry via its substitute ministry .
I want you to consider how identical the following verses are, regardless of the italics:
Dan 9:27 - And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall CAUSE the SACRIFICE and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of ABOMINATIONS he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Dan 8:11 - Yea, he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and by him the DAILY (SACRIFICE)] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was CAST DOWN.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain [saint] which spake, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning] the DAILY (SACRIFICE), and the transgression of DESOLATION, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the DAILY (SACRIFICE), and they shall place the ABOMINATION that maketh DESOLATE.
Dan 12:11 And from the time [that] the DAILY (SACRIFICE) shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days
They speak of a daily (sacrifice) being taken away, and an abomination being set up, exactly as spoken in Daniel 9:27. Even though the words are in italics you can't escape the fact it mirrors exactly what is spoken of in Daniel 9:27. Let me bring another verse this way:
Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Many chapters in Daniel speak of the desolation that was to come, starting in chapter 8 right through to chapter 12, including chapter 9, which some groups try to claim meant Christ.

I noticed the preacher never mentioned anything about the daily sacrifice? How did the papacy cause the daily sacrifice to cease?
