@Rokuwhitefox Colic. My horse had it a few days ago and we had to tube him. Basically, you put mineral oils down it and into their stomachs to flush out an impaction in the gut.

The horses in this film are my grandads the ones at the beginning with the foal The White pony and his also the pony from neverending story and the chestnut (ginger) the black playing black beauty and there are others they all was in braveheart too. I've never read book but the film is amazing I love it!

beauty according to the books get sick after he takes john to fetch the doctor cause the mistress becomes ill, the doctor rides him back, but Joe not knowing what to do, does the wrong things cold water no rug etc , that's the one thing about movies base on well loved book, its good movie but not near as good as the book, and its only beauty that talks in the book all the horses talk, but it is told from beauty's point of view, nor does it tell that the son was killed on beauty s older brother

@xShadowxPhoenix He should have been given a blanket, instead of letting the rain and sweat just sit on his body. That'd give him hypothermia. And he should have been given warm water to drink instead of cold.

@xShadowxPhoenix He likely suffered from colic which is like a stomach ache but is dangerous to horses. He got it because he was not cooled down properly. He should have been hand walked with a cooler ( a fleece blanket that wicks moisture) until he was dry and no longer hot. He should not have been given free choice water, but only a small amount until he was cool. Giving cold water to a hot horse is not good, but cold water to a cool horse is ok but horses prefer water that is not ice cold.

I've read the book a million times, and he's upset that she's dead, but he does say (last two lines of chapter 38 (Dolly and a Real Gentleman)) 'I believe it was Ginger, I hoped it was, for then her troubles would be over'.
