this was i realy good review of the surge great close ups of the tool and that showed me the Quality of the tools steel and manufacturing of the tool just wish you put a ruler to size up the main blade i presume the the main blade is apox 9,cm in length.

i think the surge is for me. i have had a micra on my key chain for 15.years

the leathermans sure do last.

i'm trying to find out if other blades will fit into the saw/file. i saw i picture that looked like someone had a PVC saw in there. does it take standard saw blades? if i could put a metal saw and a PVC saw in my kit w/ the file and the wood saw i would be good to go.

@beefyramos you can fit standard jig saw/sabre saw blades in it. mine was a bit tight when i first got it, as far as other blades, but just needs a bit of tinkering.

@beefyramos No problem! Btw, forgot to mention...alot of jig saw blades are longer than the standard leatherman blades, so you cant actually close the blade into the frame (because they are too long) so you just have to take the blade out, put it in the case, and replace it with the stock leatherman blade.

@railrunner18 thanks again, lol ... i'm really excited about having all of those extra capabilities. i have needed to cut just a small piece of copper pipe, PVC, or wood and had to go look for an hour for one or even have to leave a job to go get one. .... plus i'm going to be contracting in the Army next semester so i'm sure i'll find plenty of uses for it.

do you loose much quality from the saw and the file because of their ability to change out, compared to another leatherman multi tool where you cant do that
