  • they said that the delay was due to the crisis in Yemen and they now expects the agreement to be signed soon. The crossing will be the first bridge to link the Arabian Peninsula with the African continent. Denmark's Cowi has drawn up a preliminary design for the 28.5 kilometers bridge.

  • The dream is not prohibited. No matter what, the dream of IOG. He tells lies and people believe, then he stole all the property of the nation.

  • @hassanahmedw did they stop building the bridge because the americans said no?

  • @muraad123 Yeah online it says they did but just for a little bit.

  • Inchallah , it will be possible , God will help us to protect and develop our country and muslim countrys Djibouti and Yeman !

  • Never gonna happen Ha Ha

  • That's gonna be real good if it does happen a bridge miles long it would be a famous tourist destination

  • I´m from america, i´ve never been in Yemen, Saudi or Dijibouti. But I respect and like people from those places and I think that a bridge, despite who puts the money is always a way to bring people together. Congratulations!

  • This will make my country so rich, yemen is one of the most poorest countries due to political power otherwise it is rich in minrals, oil, gas, coffee, fruit, it was Arth aljanatayn- which means -land of the 2 paradises, but this is going to make it internationally known with this project.

  • People who are saying saudis area supporting this are wrong. Bin Laden wants to invest in his home country. What the fuck will saudia do. In this prject the cities will work on green technolgy. Heak since saudis are so fucking lazy maybe will come out as the first arab to make a city which nearly completely run by clean energy!

  • More like a shit load lol

  • this asshole, what he means by saying the bridge won't be helpfull without his alnoor city?. is the bridge gonna be just for his crap city and yemen worth nothing!?

  • @0salam0 you are talking with out deep knowledge of the region. Sad to see people talk based on feeling

  • the man is not a profet but he can make profecy come true wow..we love it! and hope it"!

  • thanx, and we will hope this project take place-

    yemen and DJIBOUTI will live.

  • not the yemeniees nor the djibouti can finicially built such big project on the red sea without the support of the saudi goverment. and i am sure the saudi goverment will support this project, becuase this saudi project, not yemenees nor djiboutians.

  • Bin Laden is originally from yemen and he wants to invest in his original country so a person of yemeni origin can finicially built such big project.

as we know the most riches people in Saudi Arabia are of Yemen origin.

Yemenis taught Saudis how to use and invest their money.

So please don't tell me saudi government because employer and employees of al-nor city are foreigners not Beduin and lazy Saudis.

  • it is said that Bin Laden head of Al-Qaida will have his Headquarter of their :P, hehe so im abit pessimistic about Al-Qaida units distributed over their..how secure will this city be and what are the odds..and why do they still talk about islam or a religious city ! common get over it religion should be kept at home only not in public !

  • well said. never expect saudis to help yemen or somalia because they beleive that when both countries are weaker ir divided then it is for the benefit of saudi arabia.this project is only for the beenfit of jibouti and lsiten to what he says it starts with jibouit ...

  • wooooooooooooow thats goooood idea ... go yemen jib ..wonderful city ... i hope they star b4 i die kuz i wanna see yemen haveing birdg hahahhah...

  • the problem is our government want money and bribe to support this project.

they want to share this project.

When will we get a good president who take care of his people.

yemen is number ten of the poorest country in the world

Poverty in yemen more than seventy percent.

illiteracy in yemen is more than sixty percent.

there is no Health and education.

allah will punish Ali Abdulah Saleh and his followers ansha allah to what they did to our yemeni people.

    Amen Yarb

  • well i think it's great idea and i wil like to see it,but the holly kapp'a should save from (habasha)! or as-habul fil!!!! first we should help somalia somaliland and puntland become the strong oneces! and nfd should be free from ethiopia.

then we can think of city of noor!

holly kappa'a should be save (allah swt)said in the qura'an that angels wil guard but we should never forget as-habul fil!!!

  • u aint sayin bruh...wat is da link between madina atnoor n ashaboul fil...u hatin huh...

  • I am From Yemen and i think this project is a big lie! thats why the Yemeni government is not interested and i feel bad for the djaboutis to belive this bullshit!

  • It's not a lie but Construction begins on Yemen-Djibouti Bridge on 7/29/2008

  • This would also make it much easier for hajj pilgrims to travel from East Africa. As opposed to flying, maybe they can take a bus from Djibouti, through Yemen, and to

    Makkat-al-Mukarramah.

  • After 15 years, when the 2 cities and Bridge are complete, the two cities will have international businessmen who will proceed down from the red sea coast all the way to the South African Coast. Imagine the possibilities of beach front living!

  • @bebelehaut the bridge will finish in 15 years

  • This project will be the most important investment ever made in our country, over 50 billion USD pourred in our economy, much needed jobs could be created. This city with the bridge will strengthen the position of Djibouti as the "Gateway" for East Africa and will contribute to the developement of our economy.

I'm glad to hear that the city will be an ecofriendly city (the 1st in its kind) using renewable energy and water desalinisation.

Djibouti: a Small country with BIG aspirations!

  • This bridge sounds like a great idea. The ability to move much needed necessities like food and other materials should be a good thing. Not to mention the fact that there are so many people in these areas that need work and better standards of living.

  • I sincerely hope that the future city becomes an architectural masterpiece, side-by-side with a fully functional high-tech infrastructures. the new singapore of africa

  • that would be wonderful , I heard the architecture theme of the planned city is "light" hence the name of city.
