Sudan is very peaceful and very original in terms of preserving their culture much more safer than United Kingdom, U.S.A. or any westernize country. I've lived there for a few years and it is safe to drive around or walk around in any towns in the north or the capital even there is a curfew on at any time of the day. I just want to say this video is very outdated, 1997 is like 50 yrs ago Sudan time. There is no current ongoing fighting in the South and the oil is changing the country dramatically. Sudan is corrupt and there is no democracy but the economic, political landscape has changed, with new players on the scene(darfur rebels) and many of the opposition (e.g. Suliman) currently forming the gov, many of whom returned from exile, the Sudanese parliament is 70% British.
