I'm lucky to have Divina and Elliott, they're so much fun to have around. Elliott is more like a dog than a cat... he follows me everywhere and is always by my side. It's really funny how he moves every time I move, even to go from one room to another. Everyone who sees him is amazed.
@shawn911100 The veterinarian got creative and tried to make him look like a lion while he was recovering...He was shaved when I took him to the vet for all the shots to make him a house cat. He had been on the streets for at least a year, and had to undergo several treatments. He's healthy and fabulous now.
@dbzgal18 Thank you for remembering Deeva. I guess you're referring to the little one, Divina. She's 4 years old now, and still tiny. Her tail is so long, and she's a real joker. She's so quick and dainty, that it seems she can fly across the room. I think it's a different breed too, but the veterinarian said she's "just a domestic feline". I find nothing ordinary about her or Elliott, my big black bear.
I hope you enjoy your feline friend as much as I do mine.

I took her to the vet, and she was suffering very much and could not make it. Her thyroid suddenly dropped beyond repair. Deeva passed away the day before her 16th birthday. RIP, beautiful one. She was amazing.

@003shivani Thanks for your kind comments. I think that cats eat grass instinctively, maybe to help digestion as well as for nutrition. They must know instinctively what's good for them. Elliott was a street cat in Canada (very cold winters) for 2 years before this video. When I adopted him, I took him to the vet, and he had to be shaved, operated, etc. so that's why he looks like that. Now, he's a giant fur ball. Cats won't eat anything they don't like or is not good for them, no matter what.

@003shivani I'm surprised that you can't find catnip in New Zealand. Did you try the pet shop? I recently read that people actually drink catnip tea, and it is also used in home remedies to help hair. It appears to be a very common herb used in many ancient home remedies, so I guess a health food store should have it too. Thanks for your kindness. I answer as much as I can, and am learning new things along with everyone here :)

Sweet, sweet creatures... I miss my cats so much, I went on to study in a foreign country and my 2 lovely cats stayed at home. Sorry for your loss, cant imagine how Id feel when they arent there anymore. Cats are a proven cure for mild depression, interaction with them is on a whole different level.
@dudeableful Absolutely true. Cats are known to be great healers. All I know is that whenever I'm not feeling well for whatever reason, the kitties come lay beside me exactly where the pain is. Reminds me of a cat I use to have....I was living in an appartment block on the second floor so there was a long stairway to get to my appartment and when I was giving catnip to my cat, her trip was to lay down on the side of the first stair and roll down to the end of it! She was really stone, lol!

@MegaMouseSEC All my cats, 5 over a period of 30 years, came into my life by surprise. They were either found or given to me, and became part of the family. Every one of them is unique. I wish I had video of my other 2 cats, Miss Muffet, another black beauty and Mitzi, my magnificent all white guardian angel, who looked after me in life and beyond. Sorry about your kitties and mine. But maybe they're all playing together. Like people, our pets are impossible to forget when they are so loved.
They really act stoned, like when you get those occasional reality flashes between the high (or so we think they are reality flashes :D) and you notice people around you are high and acting crazy. Like at 1:47.
Catnip is okay for cats, yes. However pure catnip is not, if ingested it can cause harm. That is why cat toys are sealed and so protected. I'm not going to be one of these ass holes that are like, "I bet the cats died"
However just as a warning you know? Awesome cats btw :)
@wimpykidrules1 Those cats are alive and well. Deeva died a year ago at the age of 16. The other 2 are young and frisky and have a better life than many people. They have lots of love and they eat well, drink, sleep, play, get treats, and the catnip is occasional, not a daily thing. In any case, catnip is good for cats, it helps them in many ways. Did you ever see a cat eat grass outside?
@wimpykidrules1 I hope you know that catnip isn't a drug, it's actually a herb. .__.; It can't kill a cat even if it were given to them everyday. It has a strong/sweet scent that cats really seem to be attracted to. It doesn't harm them in the slightest.

Just for your information, we are all vegetarians in this household...lol
OK... I'm a vegetarian, and the cats only eat high quality dry food and treats. They don't like canned food or people food. The catnip is occasional, maybe once a month or so, not daily. Happy to say they're super healthy and frisky! Thank you also to everyone for viewing and posting. meow!

Reminds me of a cat I use to have....I was living in an appartment block on the second floor so there was a long stairway to get to my appartment and when I was giving catnip to my cat, her trip was to lay down on the side of the first stair and roll down to the end of it! She was really stone, lol!

wow, what kind of cat is the black one? its gorgeous! ur other cats are cute too! i love cats, wish i owned one. have to deal with stuffed animals for now tehe. btw fun fact, in Trinidad my family pronounces it "cyat "not cat it makes me laugh everytime ;)

@AquarianValkari don't think of it as "owning" a cat , think of it as becoming a friend or being a companion. dont even bother buying a cat if you think that way, they arent things they are living breathing animals.

First: I am glad too see someone else like me adopting cats. Second: I feel your loss I had 2 of my cats die within days of each other. They are now resting in the great catnip field in the sky.

@MegaMouseSEC All my cats, 5 over a period of 30 years, came into my life by surprise. They were either found or given to me, and became part of the family. Every one of them is unique. I wish I had video of my other 2 cats, Miss Muffet, another black beauty and Mitzi, my magnificent all white guardian angel, who looked after me in life and beyond. Sorry about your kitties and mine. But maybe they're all playing together. Like people, our pets are impossible to forget when they are so loved.

They really act stoned, like when you get those occasional reality flashes between the high (or so we think they are reality flashes :D) and you notice people around you are high and acting crazy. Like at 1:47.

Catnip is okay for cats, yes. However pure catnip is not, if ingested it can cause harm. That is why cat toys are sealed and so protected. I'm not going to be one of these ass holes that are like, "I bet the cats died"
However just as a warning you know? Awesome cats btw :)

@wimpykidrules1 Those cats are alive and well. Deeva died a year ago at the age of 16. The other 2 are young and frisky and have a better life than many people. They have lots of love and they eat well, drink, sleep, play, get treats, and the catnip is occasional, not a daily thing. In any case, catnip is good for cats, it helps them in many ways. Did you ever see a cat eat grass outside?

@wimpykidrules1 I hope you know that catnip isn't a drug, it's actually a herb. .__.; It can't kill a cat even if it were given to them everyday. It has a strong/sweet scent that cats really seem to be attracted to. It doesn't harm them in the slightest.
