Kseniya is a belle though, such an elegant routine! I felt for her so much in the AA at the olympics...

I hope she and the Russians will be a force in the coming 2012 Olympics, they deserve it after a disappointing 2008. I hope Ksenia dominates in the AA.

Yeah, it was a bit disappointing. I wanted Semyonova to medal in the AA, she is my favorite gymnast. And I love Pavlova's style so I was hoping she'd medal in at least an EF. But I think they will be a force in 2012. Just think about it, Semyonova, the Mustafina sisters, Tatiana Nabieva, Anastasia Komova, and Grishina!! I think Russia will definitely medal in the team final, and I would also love for Ksenia to dominate the AA. I think she can if she continues to improve.

Pavlova should've medaled. Goodness, she's such an outstanding AA gymnast, it kills me she doesn't have an AA Olympic medal under her belt.

That's Ksenia sealing the deal that she's consistent and a major contender on her events (UB/BB). She's like the Russian Nastia... Nistor is solid, but I think she just didn't peak too well at this competition. We'll see if she can pace herself to the olympics. She seemed a little rush but it's just funny to see a gymnast fire off so many difficult elements on the BB in such little time. That routine is jampacked. Too bad about the fall, but I would have given it to Ksenia anyways.

I think Ksenia has great potential for the AA in the future. She has a Yurchenko 1.5 VT, her UB&BB are excellent and her FX is difficult and enjoyable to watch. Let's wait...

Ksenia is a possibility and Anna Pavlova would be another gymnast. A Ksenia Afanesieva am not so sure.

Ksenia is very refined but needs a little more substance and original elements. Nonetheless, she is very captivating!

Steliana seems to be more focused on her proficiency. I think she has the qualities of a great gymnast however sometimes she comes off as more of a technician. Now that Catalina Ponor has retired, she should get her to offer some coaching on fluidity, presence and form.

I think that Stela's beam routine is far more difficult than Ksenia's, but on the day, it didnt work. Although it did for Vanessa Ferrari at 2006 worlds beam finals didnt it??LOL!!

Blush..I meant Vanessa Ferrari's "joke" AA title at Worlds 2006, not beam event finals, when she fell but still won the All around. Still cant believe she was allowed to win with a fall then. Most erroneous world champion ever.

I wouldn't just single out Vanesa Ferrari.

Ferrari, Kim Zmeskal and Chellsie Memmel are 3 gymnasts that in my opinion did not possess the flair, creativity, originality and vitality of most world champions.

Zmeskal's "victory" in the US was orchestrated. Memmel's "win" was undeserving because she is a solid gymnast but in no way captivating. Ferrari's "triumph" was a consequence of the convoluted scoring that is a disservice to the sport and not truly rewarding artistry.
