wow. Your cars' interior is easy to take apart. My car is like a jigsaw puzzle of bolts and screws, but i guess that's because yours is Jap, whearas mine is just unnecessarily complicated.
@Rainesblue Actually it was $100. And no cutting the shift arm shorter will not give you the same results. That will actually make it harder to shift. Short throw shifters move the pivot point of the shifter up higher so that the "throw" between gears is shorter. The actual shifter itself is the same exact length
@rotarystang93 A gasket is available, however there is no pressure or high flow of fluids there, so RTV gasket maker works just fine as an alternative.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Are you talking about the center console? Everything from the coupe interior will fit in the hatch except for the carpet and possibly the back seats
@ProjectGarageOnline yeah just the whole center console. Mine doesn't look like that lol and I'm thinking of getting rid of it and replacing it with that one. But will it fit?
@thesnodude5150 common sense here - the shorter it is, the closer your hand is near the base of the shifter which requires less movement.... it's also a shorter stick, obviously. -_____-
@KayC2SLO Actually, thesnodude had a valid question. The length of the stick does not decrease at all. Its a short throw shifter, meaning the pivot point is higher than the factory pivot point, making the distance between shifts (throw) shorter.
@KayC2SLO thats not how a short shifter works. it changes the pivot point inside of the transmission, a shorter stick doesnt necessarily mean its a short shifter
@whsbmx i've never personally had a short-throw shifter, so i wouldn't know. i like how far my arm travels when i shift... iunno, personal preference i guess.
@KayC2SLO dude if u wanna get a sense of a short shifter its awsome get behind the wheel of a miata their shifters are amazing no need for them the distance between every shift is very short and it feels great.
@MikeW259 Its funny you say that, thats what I had wired in before I got an alarm. My alarm has a built in starter kill switch, but I still want to wire in a fuel pump one somewhere
@miravete2 Wow, awesome. I love getting feedback like this. Thanks a lot man! Stay tuned too! With the weather warming up, more videos are coming your way
how long did it really take to do all that? it took you like 30 mins? and is it that easy with an srt4 i want to upgrade my SS to something better any recomendations? mines the same SS that came with the car
@240sxGuy3 HIGHLY recommend the ISIS shifter. It does have its kinks, but for 90 bucks, it can't be beaten. haha, and yea I am Krash on NicoClub. NICO FTW!
@whatdumd Yes sir! Shifter is working great! The only problem that I have with it is that it makes a rattling noise at high rpms. It doesn't seem to affect anything, its just slightly annoying.
So your S13 was converted? or did it come stock 5 speed?

Should the original shifter by in neutral or in gear before taking it out? Or does it not matter? Thanks for the vid
Fox1991 1 month ago
@Fox1991 It doesn't really matter, but neutral makes it easier.
ProjectGarageOnline 1 month ago
What are the benefits of having a shfter like this?
Skaterrocker842 2 months ago
@Skaterrocker842 The "distance" between gear shifts is shorter so that its easier to shift
ProjectGarageOnline 2 months ago
@ProjectGarageOnline Oh okay, thanks, because I have seen so many people selling cars with Short Shifters and was wondering why they did it.
Skaterrocker842 2 months ago
for my 240sx, there is old gasket sealer .. which is a bitch to take off. it does not easily comes off like yours does
caozsouls 2 months ago
@caozsouls I think I took my stock shifter out once before when I was doing the manual swap. Yours was probably caked on there from the factory haha

Good work man, you make it look easy, except those two bolts in the back look like abit of a pain, thanks for the vid
XR05Charrua 3 months ago
@XR05Charrua It is easy! But you are right the bolts in the back are a pain to get to, but it is definitely possible

I find having a short throw shifter difficult to use rather than those conventional ones.

dude you spend $200 for that and all you have to do was cut the shift arm shorter and have some one to weld it back for about $30 bucks
looks nice!

@Rainesblue thats not a short shifter. it just shortens the leng of the shifter not the actual throw/distance between gears
whsbmx 4 months ago
@Rainesblue Why would you say that when you obviously have know idea what you're talking about.

also, some vehicles you have to remove the center to access the shifter assembly(my frontier is this way. need to remove cupholder area first)

Subbed. You ever consider wiring up a fuel pump killswitch?(Theft prevention)
If you don't smoke...You could cut the cigarette lighter, leave the top, and install a small switch inside the housing.

@manuelisafag The factory shifter? Yea it had a lot of play. I'm assuming its from 17 years of shifting, the springs etc, in the trans wear down.
