  • So your S13 was converted? or did it come stock 5 speed?

  • lmao garage band prerecorded track intro

  • @feedback5010 You know it!

  • wow. Your cars' interior is easy to take apart. My car is like a jigsaw puzzle of bolts and screws, but i guess that's because yours is Jap, whearas mine is just unnecessarily complicated.

  • good upload

  • Should the original shifter by in neutral or in gear before taking it out? Or does it not matter? Thanks for the vid

  • @Fox1991 It doesn't really matter, but neutral makes it easier.

  • What are the benefits of having a shfter like this?

  • @Skaterrocker842 The "distance" between gear shifts is shorter so that its easier to shift

  • @ProjectGarageOnline Oh okay, thanks, because I have seen so many people selling cars with Short Shifters and was wondering why they did it.

  • for my 240sx, there is old gasket sealer .. which is a bitch to take off. it does not easily comes off like yours does

  • @caozsouls I think I took my stock shifter out once before when I was doing the manual swap. Yours was probably caked on there from the factory haha

  • Good work man, you make it look easy, except those two bolts in the back look like abit of a pain, thanks for the vid

  • @XR05Charrua It is easy! But you are right the bolts in the back are a pain to get to, but it is definitely possible

  • I find having a short throw shifter difficult to use rather than those conventional ones.

  • If you drive a Yugo, you make this on your own. :D

  • great vid. bro

  • dude you spend $200 for that and all you have to do was cut the shift arm shorter and have some one to weld it back for about $30 bucks

    looks nice!

  • @Rainesblue Actually it was $100. And no cutting the shift arm shorter will not give you the same results. That will actually make it harder to shift. Short throw shifters move the pivot point of the shifter up higher so that the "throw" between gears is shorter. The actual shifter itself is the same exact length

  • @Rainesblue thats not a short shifter. it just shortens the leng of the shifter not the actual throw/distance between gears

  • @Rainesblue Why would you say that when you obviously have know idea what you're talking about.

  • also, some vehicles you have to remove the center to access the shifter assembly(my frontier is this way. need to remove cupholder area first)

  • Hand brake has a boner.

  • @rotarystang93 A gasket is available, however there is no pressure or high flow of fluids there, so RTV gasket maker works just fine as an alternative.

  • the coupe center fits just fine in the hatch? I got a hatch and I don't have the same one. I'm thinking of buying one though just curious if it'd fit

  • @pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Are you talking about the center console? Everything from the coupe interior will fit in the hatch except for the carpet and possibly the back seats

  • @ProjectGarageOnline yeah just the whole center console. Mine doesn't look like that lol and I'm thinking of getting rid of it and replacing it with that one. But will it fit?

  • @ProjectGarageOnline everything from seats foreward fit, just obviously not the plastic interior pieces by the windows

  • I like the video, I really liked how you didnt cut out the manual work.

  • I love videos like this.

  • @ramonesfreak2010 Oh snap, you found me!

  • Very informative video! Thanks!

  • Now what does the short shifter actually shorten. The distance of the throw or the.length of the stick itself

  • @thesnodude5150 common sense here - the shorter it is, the closer your hand is near the base of the shifter which requires less movement.... it's also a shorter stick, obviously. -_____-

  • @KayC2SLO Actually, thesnodude had a valid question. The length of the stick does not decrease at all. Its a short throw shifter, meaning the pivot point is higher than the factory pivot point, making the distance between shifts (throw) shorter.

  • @ProjectGarageOnline hmm. point taken. i`ve only ever seen my buddy`s short shifter which is the length of my water bottle, lol

  • @KayC2SLO thats not how a short shifter works. it changes the pivot point inside of the transmission, a shorter stick doesnt necessarily mean its a short shifter

  • @whsbmx i've never personally had a short-throw shifter, so i wouldn't know. i like how far my arm travels when i shift... iunno, personal preference i guess.

  • @KayC2SLO dude if u wanna get a sense of a short shifter its awsome get behind the wheel of a miata their shifters are amazing no need for them the distance between every shift is very short and it feels great.

  • @Z32spdstr Very true No need to install a short shifter!!!

  • Nice vid

  • @Marshmallowrex Irrelevant comment is irrelevant.

  • @ProjectGarageOnline S14!!!

    Yeah! Hahaha*Lil wayne voice*

Subbed. You ever consider wiring up a fuel pump killswitch?(Theft prevention)

If you don't smoke...You could cut the cigarette lighter, leave the top, and install a small switch inside the housing.

  • @MikeW259 Its funny you say that, thats what I had wired in before I got an alarm. My alarm has a built in starter kill switch, but I still want to wire in a fuel pump one somewhere

  • @ProjectGarageOnline My bad S13(Even better).

  • I wanna know how to use a beanie as a boot

  • @PJRehlaender Easy dude, cut a hole in the top of the beanie, put it on the shift boot retainer, screw it in!

  • @ProjectGarageOnline my car isnt like that haha my factory boot has been sort of melted on with plastic.

  • Life saver ! Cheers mate !

  • Click here --> 4:17 <-- to hear the chipmunks! :)

  • Is that a hat ? Nice, why use a fancy leather boot when a hoodie works as well :D

  • @cubano1389 Yessir, it is a hat rofl

  • lol i can tell this is a 240 because i have one lol

  • Good work. nice vid. thanks for the vid

  • You should grease the ball joint as well.....

  • Good video man

  • @vent4all Thanks a lot man!

  • i have to say, this is by far one of the best vids i have seen. very well done. its simple, easy to follow, and what more could you ask for?

    well done.

  • @miravete2 Wow, awesome. I love getting feedback like this. Thanks a lot man! Stay tuned too! With the weather warming up, more videos are coming your way

  • how long did it really take to do all that? it took you like 30 mins? and is it that easy with an srt4 i want to upgrade my SS to something better any recomendations? mines the same SS that came with the car

  • @mrcrazyboy703 Well I've never worked on an SRT-4 before, but the install generally isn't hard at all. It did take me around 30 minutes.

  • The Problems are the 2 Bolts on the Top side!

  • Do you reccomend the isis short shifter?? Im 240sxAli4Life on NicoClub btw. I seen someone asked you if you were Krash!!

  • @240sxGuy3 HIGHLY recommend the ISIS shifter. It does have its kinks, but for 90 bucks, it can't be beaten. haha, and yea I am Krash on NicoClub. NICO FTW!

  • @ProjectGarageOnline Hell yea! Nico is the shit!! I may get the isis shifter after i get my 240 fixed!

  • @240sxGuy3 Do it man, its one of the best things I've bought for my car.

  • Very nice video!

Which Gasket Maker did you use?

  • @DANDthekid Thank you sir! I used red RTV gasket maker.

  • dude i want ur 240sx looks so clean lol

  • @JUNIOR6289 thanks!

  • hey does your shifter have any play?

do you know why that happens?

  • @manuelisafag The factory shifter? Yea it had a lot of play. I'm assuming its from 17 years of shifting, the springs etc, in the trans wear down.

  • I like how you didn't cut the manual work, but just fast forwarded. :) good vid man!

  • @TheGavinch Thanks man!

  • hey are you the Krash from NICO?

and how's the shifter working for you?

  • @whatdumd Yes sir! Shifter is working great! The only problem that I have with it is that it makes a rattling noise at high rpms. It doesn't seem to affect anything, its just slightly annoying.

  • @ProjectGarageOnline

    Sweet! this MellowS13 BTW

you just inspired me to buy the shifter and install it!

  • You used to have an automatic! ;]

  • @earlingy I sure did! I was so happy when the auto trans blew out :)
