Only someone obsessed with theology would miss the depth of theology in this song. I consider myself a theologian - not because I am one, but because I love theology. So I will say without reservation that this song is packed with theology. And most importantly it magnifies some of the greatest principles in scripture. Namely, the glories of God & man's bent to miss them. This is Romans in a song. As well as countles other scriptures that come to my mind when I hear this song. Thanks LORD!

I think the lyrics are challenging and sincere. Many of us who have grown up in the church or became Christians at a young age learned all the stories and learned what to believe, but we didn't let it sink down in and ask the deeper questions. This song challenges people to go deeper, to ask God those tough questions. It's not up the the singer/songwriter to give us the doctrine. It's up to us to seek that out with God
A lot of nice words that make you feel real good, but where is the Doctrine? It comes close and "what do I know of Holy" is a question that we Christians should all ask ourselves but if you want to find true doctrine you have to fill in the blanks yourself. This leaves the message open to theological interpretation. Don't get me wrong it is a nice song, and I am sure the singer, song writer & musicians are sincere.

I love this song so much because it just relates to how real we should be as Christians. It contains the emotion of how we faked ourselves out with God sometimes and we've lied to not only ourselves, but Him also. We have claimed to be so good and so Christ-like, but on the inside just prideful and this song just explains how great and faithful He really is to be so forgiving and merciful. All of the people that deny God and the sacrifice made for them and refuse to believe will not be fine and will be spending an eternity separated from God. If you trust in the Lord and believe that Jesus is the son of God, he was born to a virgin, died on the cross for your sins and rose again three days later then your good to go. God Bless

It's so true!! We think we know Him SO well. That will never happen until we stand face to face with Him and learn about Him through all of eternity. Until then the best way to know Him is studying His Word and praying and learning to listen to the sound of His voice!!

What do we really know of God's Holiness? Very little compared to who He really is - He is like no other, set-apart, distinct, sacred, beyond everything imaginable and unimaginable, like nothing we have ever seen, unfathomable, embodiment of love and perfection, etc... God's holiness should cause us deep reverence and fear for Him. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Jesus4everinmylife: You are right to a degree, but also think of it this way. The word Holy means to set apart. God created us for a specific purpose. God doesn't make mistakes. So since He made us, in a since we are perfect, we are designed to be set apart for His purpose. Thus to some small degree, we are Holy, at least that is until we mess it up. However, I think we can be Holy, by living out His purpose for our lives. There is a cretin Holiness in following Him.

It was about 11:00 PM on my birthday when I first heard this song. I was in the car and could clearly see all the stars and outlines of trees and mountains in the distance (from the backseat) and the words really went straight to the center of my heart. I was in total reverence for the rest of the drive.
So I played the piano and my family all sang and played with it, at the end, people had tears and cryed in their hands, this song is moving, special, and yes ^^ epic.

Faith in God cannot just be based on how you are feeling at the moment. Feelings come and go. Our feelings change all the time. It is a challenge. Faith remains even when you don't feel God. It is humanly impossible to feel Him, or His presence at all times. Be patient with yourself as God is patient with you. Well, on of the most important things to remember is that you can't, by yourself draw near to God. You have to let Him draw you. I know it might sound weird, but to draw close to Him, you must surrender to Him. Only God can truly bring you back to Him. I've tried alot too to get to God without relying on Him and I didn't get anywhere except for when I would surrender to Him. I'll pray for all of you.
You know something. Conviction only happens for the ones who are saved. Christianity is not always Joyful. What do I know of you who spoke me into motion...What do we know of an Infinite God who saved me, a finite man, A wretched man, a hardened man. When Christ Suffered for you in that moment, was it Joyful? The most Joyful part of thus walk is that some can have the chance to be saved through a death that was deserving for you. Get on your face and worship!
I think we should be joyful in Jesus Christ. Rejoice means to make joyful, to gladden. And the bible says to rejoice in the lord always and I gain I say rejoice! =)

I think the point is that God is so great and we can't capture how holy and wonderful he is. I mean... we're just humans so we just simply cannot comprehend how amazing he is.

All of the people that deny God and the sacrifice made for them and refuse to believe will not be fine and will be spending an eternity separated from God. If you trust in the Lord and believe that Jesus is the son of God, he was born to a virgin, died on the cross for your sins and rose again three days later then your good to go. God Bless

It's so true!! We think we know Him SO well. That will never happen until we stand face to face with Him and learn about Him through all of eternity. Until then the best way to know Him is studying His Word and praying and learning to listen to the sound of His voice!!

What do we really know of God's Holiness? Very little compared to who He really is - He is like no other, set-apart, distinct, sacred, beyond everything imaginable and unimaginable, like nothing we have ever seen, unfathomable, embodiment of love and perfection, etc... God's holiness should cause us deep reverence and fear for Him. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Jesus4everinmylife: You are right to a degree, but also think of it this way. The word Holy means to set apart. God created us for a specific purpose. God doesn't make mistakes. So since He made us, in a since we are perfect, we are designed to be set apart for His purpose. Thus to some small degree, we are Holy, at least that is until we mess it up. However, I think we can be Holy, by living out His purpose for our lives. There is a cretin Holiness in following Him.

It was about 11:00 PM on my birthday when I first heard this song. I was in the car and could clearly see all the stars and outlines of trees and mountains in the distance (from the backseat) and the words really went straight to the center of my heart. I was in total reverence for the rest of the drive.

i had the greatest relationship with god and it just slipped through my hands when i let the devil get to me, and i dont know how to get it back :/. Probably the hardest time for me and i cant seem to latch on to god. No matter how many times i praise or pray, the feeling is gone. Im not doubting god but im doubting myself finding him again. HELP ughh.

Faith in God cannot just be based on how you are feeling at the moment. Feelings come and go. Our feelings change all the time. It is a challenge. Faith remains even when you don't feel God. It is humanly impossible to feel Him, or His presence at all times. Be patient with yourself as God is patient with you. I can tell you more but I'm holding off since I don't know what your religion is, and how you are. I will be praying for you. I am a Catholic Youth minister. God bless you!

i went through the exact same thing. it was the most difficult time of my life. you just have to trust in HIM to work in you and take away your doubt. you can't do it by yourself, but with God you can do anything. He is God, and He'll take care of you. don't give up, that is key. i will be praying for you!

Well, on of the most important things to remember is that you can't, by yourself draw near to God. You have to let Him draw you. I know it might sound weird, but to draw close to Him, you must surrender to Him. Only God can truly bring you back to Him. I've tried alot too to get to God without relying on Him and I didn't get anywhere except for when I would surrender to Him. I'll pray for all of you.

I think the point is that God is so great and we can't capture how holy and wonderful he is. I mean... we're just humans so we just simply cannot comprehend how amazing he is.
Its the singer realizing how human and insignificant they are and how little they realize about God.
We only know just a taste of God and that hints at so much more that we as humans can't fathom.
