I have natural Taylor swift type hair...it's so beautiful and I always gett commented on it, the only problem is when you brush it out it gets frizzy:((

@sunkissedgolden333 just don't brush it out, maybe finger comb your curls , i have curly hair too, and i NEVER blow dry it. blowdrying just frizzes it, maybe you should use a frizz serum :)

and lucky about the Taylor hair- it must be pretty :)

I actually have natural Taylor Swift-curly hair. When I wear my hair curly I just touch up my natural curls (but I have a 1 in iron). With my type of hair, I wouldn't recommend straightening it first.. My hair doesn't hold curl that well after I straighten it. Good job girl!!!! You're way cute and the hair looked fantastic!

i have naturally curly hair, and i do this all the timee, it works fine. =)

if i straighten my hair first it doesnt curl at all. i just take my natural curls and use the iron on them, and it works.

Actually curly hair works fine with a curling iron- you just have to brush it and pull it a little tighter around the iron to get the natural curl out. Not only will straightening it first make your hair less able to curl correctly because you have already styled it- but it can damage your hair (even with a protectant) =)

I don't think make it straight before is a good idea, with the curled hair you should brush it and then curl it, cause curly hair have a great texture and it holds better the curl :)

No No NO! Do not straighten it if you have curly hair before curling! It wont curl! I have naturally curly hair, i tried that and it DOES NOT WORK! If you have naturally curly hair, you can still curl it with a curling iron. it'll make the curls stay longer. When taylor has her hair curled (because she does have the hairdressers "define" her hair) they just blow dry it with a diffuser and curl from there.

you don't have to straighten your hair if you have naturally curly hair. you can attempt to blow it dry straight., it will be frizzy though that doesn't matter if you are curling it. i have naturally curly hair and i do this hair all the time. one time i didn't blow dry my hair striaght and it worked perfectly fine. and trust me- the heat will smooth the curl creating the curl you want! i have super ringlet crazy hair and sometimes its wavy. and my hair is thick- took me 2.5 hours. its worth it!

oh err so you dont have to make a new video, i curl my hair like yours all the time but the tops always flatten out really easily and i use loads of hairspray?

My curls hold really well but the top part always goes flat realy quickly?

you could try using a dry shampoo on your roots or a root lifting mousse.

I have naturally really curly hair. You cant straighten it first because it wont hold. Once the hair cuticle is sealed straight it will not curl, or hold a curl. The best thing to do it blow dry it out straight, but not flat iron.

I have medium length hair and when I use a 1in. curling iron, it works just fine.

One thing though: I have wavy hair and have done this style on friends who have VERY curly hair. You CAN straighten it first but it actually works better if you keep it curly and just use your natural curls as a guide to re-curl them. Taylor Swift has naturally curly hair, which is why (and how) she styles her hair like this. Straight is just too much work all of the time.
