  • Rafi-Asha duets used to be full of expressions. Even though lata ji had more melodious voice, Asha had a better range.

  • wah wah wah....

  • This is Asha Bhonsle. Her voice was the best fit for Mina Kumari.

  • so romantic love it thanks for the lovely song xx

  • @indu1965 - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Suman kalyanpur'voice is slightly thin and does not have as much depth as Lata.Lata uses more of modulation and changes voice as per heroine. This is what my reading is

  • @angandhe - Thank you my dear friend for the information.

I will let "zeeshanhafeez100" know this who requested initially.

    Thank you again.

  • well very nice, sumtimes i am in a fix how to differentiate between da voices of Lata n Suman, can anyone tell me the clue?

  • @zeeshanhafeez100 - This is Asha.

Many other friends are facing the same "problem" of differentiating the voices between Suman and Lata.

Can some one help as "zeeshanhafeez100" requested, please?

    Thank you.

  • @zeeshanhafeez100 - A friend [angandhe] responded to your comment. Please read that. Thank you.

  • @rnnadkarni - Yes, my friend. I am half Chinese but Sri ankan citizen, where all these songs are very popular.

After all "HINDUSTANI MUSIC IS THE BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD"!!!

Thank YOU for your kind words and take care.

  • Yuan-Where the heck are you getting such treasures....man this has to be very special since it's last movie(acted) of the great Guru Dutt saab! He looks pretty much a bengali babu in this song! Thanks again!

  • @Voltairec - Somehow I managed to get all these GEMS!

I kindly invite you to watch "Rafi & Suman - Saawan Beeta Jaaye [Ajun Na Aaye Balamwa] - Saanjh Aur Savera [1964]" posted by me.

    Thank you.

  • I believe this is a 1962 or 1963 released film. Guru Dutt was a dance director in the South. Karela I believe. It was Dev Anand who gave him the chance to direct his movie, Baazi. Poet Sahir Ludhianvi, another of Dev's discovery also made his debut in this film.

  • A song is an "Authentic" dish prepared by the Music Director and well presented by a singer. No Music Director, nothing for singer to present.

  • Yuan

    I am honoured.

    Take care.

  • Salute to you.... and ur taste. Its all because of pure singers of that time.

  • You are absolutely correct, my friend. If I may add something, not only the singers but all the artists including Music Directors too.

  • No wonder my friend, you have a good taste of good Hindustani music.

  • Rafi: The shadow of your eyelids are on my eyelids Your name comes in my heart's speech Can sacrifice all our lives for such happiness I have hugged the moon of the earth The color of love that you spread Even the sky/heaven has blushed The ones we struggled for all our lives These are the evenings and mornings

[.... repeat -- asha and rafi]

  • Thank you my friend for the translation. This will be benefited to many viewers including me too!

You have been helping all of us many times by doing this and I take this opportunity to thanks you once again.

    Take care

  • The ones we struggled for all our lives These are the evenings and mornings

    [... repeat ... -- asha and rafi]

  • Rafi: These are the evenings and mornings These are the evenings and mornings The ones we struggled for all our life

    [... repeat -- asha ...]

    Asha: Lala lala la la

    Rafi: Lala lala la la

Asha: You were the one hidden in the mirror of my life Your love is spread out on my lap Love is lit like a lamp, and the smoke became the kohl And flowers of desire bloomed in the courtyard I have received your seven colors And my future has brightened

  • what a great pleasure ti hear this song that used to hear since 1960s.

Guru Dutt loved working with Waheeda Rehman and Meena Kumari but took committed suicide as Waheeda spurned his offer of marriage.Meena took to alcohol and died of liver cancer. But song remains fresh for ever

  • Yuan - what a beautiful video - thanks so much.. I was in high school when i saw this movie - Meena is so angelic looking- so lovely and pure .. The video is so clear which is awesome. Thanks Yuan

  • You are most welcome and thanks for the very nice comment, my friend. Take care.

  • this song has haunted me for a lifetime (almost) - i love the melody -- meena kumari is so awesome - remember seeing the movie when i was child but not much until i saw this video again.

it seems the beat slows down as the song progresses but both Rafi and Lata are great -- I also like the classical turn when the words are sung -- any way great song....

  • Thank you my friend for all these beautiful comments you made on several videos today.

    Take care.

  • agreed

but it was Asha , my friend ....not lata gee

  • Yes, it is Asha. A little mistake by our friend above, I too have noticed at the time of my reply.

  • You are most welcome, my friend Aman.

  • Mohammad Rafi The greatest singer in the world EVER. What a voice, what range , what skill, what control, inimitable even today. A pillar of the indian film industry, however

vastly underrated by the indian film industry who only awarded him a handfull of awards.

They should mourn the loss of such talant every night and every day

  • superb song! so melodious!!!! thxs

  • You are most welcome. By the way, I can see that you too are a singer and I am going to watch your videos now and I will make my 2 cents worth comments there!

  • Super.Thanx
