  • wow!!

  • Roth Always Rulz!

  • i hope they get this on the new record

  • this is the first time i ever heard this song its awesome.the good old day's dave is the best.

  • good times damn good times

  • Funny how I graduated HS in 1985 and thought van halen was my era and they were but were playing and recording when I was 8. Guess the hair bands were really my era. Time for some quiet riot motley crue and bon jovi lol

  • van halen's best unreleased song no doubt in my mind

  • I think its ok, but its too much like Led Zepelin and isnt like van halen at all.

  • This was supposed to be the intro for "In A Simple Rhyme" but they cut it short because it was too much like Led Zeppelin

  • Dave is the man

  • this song really feels deep

  • hows he playing all the guitars when theres two guitars in this recording and its live?

  • @dokken447 But this was something like Women and Children First...

  • @Carloscda40 how is that relevant to what i said?

  • @dokken447 It was a question, If you weren't trying to be so snappy you would've comprehended what I was saying! You said they were supposed to put it on VHII, WCH is on their third album, so does it differs?? It's along the same type of rhythm.

  • they where going to put this on van halen II but ted thought it was too far away from the other sound they where creating on the other song

  • it's a good song and music.

  • duh again.....this is not van halen, still good though.

  • duh.... i just read the caption.

  • didn't cinderella do a song like this?? what was that band? ......steelheart, i have the CD somewhere.

  • dave can sing.........who would have thought it? ed and dave playing guitar?

  • Damn. I like this. Whoever posted this. Thank you.

  • cool stuff, much better than solo roth......screw that crap!!

  • I might felt in love with Dave right now. I've never listened to the song, so beautifull :')

  • I think this is a song dave wrote in his pre-Van Halen band Red Ball Jets prior to joining. It was planned for Van Halen 2 but was considered too different to put on the album. Nice song though!

  • A-1 D.L.R. beautiful song

  • HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW.

  • Ah, I've loved this song for years. :) Never did understand why they didn't publish "Angel Eyes" on an album.

Thankfully, this song isn't one of them (that I know of, at least), but have you noticed how much pre-Warner Bros VH the band "recycled" for other songs? There's a lot of it on "Fair Warning", sadly.

  • The should master this and put on the new LP......mind blower along with Big Trouble

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • This is a really good song, wish they had done more with it. Van Hagar was good, but not like the DLR era, and in my humble opinion VH3 SUCKED.

  • @MrMaddog64 I have news for you: Van Hagar SUCKED too. In fact, VH sucked from about "Fair Warning" forward. They lost their hunger and then sold out in favor of commercialism. If the VH of yesteryear could travel forward in time, they would be horrified to see what they would be destined to become. On the other hand, they never did suck nearly as badly as new Metallica. That's a consolation, at least.

  • This is a very beautiful song; I'd love to find the tabs or a video for this somewhere!

  • very cool!

  • great song! thanks for sharing!

  • Cool stuff, sadly I have NEVER heard this before. The DLR era od VH was the best and most influential by far. Screw Van Hagar.

  • of*

  • Van Hagar is a clever way to sum up that era, not really offensive, I even bought VH3, and I listen to it still. They were about to tour in WI and canceled due to the tix sales in advance being so poor. DLR toured solo, and he lost some of his skills in recent years, but he is a showman to the end! This is extra impressive stuff!

  • VH3 was a good album. Ang I agree: very impressive indeed.

  • Yeah, took a LITTLE getting used to, never an Extreme fan but I got their first CD used and like half the songs

  • I never was a fan of Extreme either. I am not a fan of Funk-Metal or Funk-Hard Rock, unless it's the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Extreme were gimmicky to me.
