Every piece of glass has a natural frequency, or rather, a certain number of times it will vibrate every second (usually in the hundreds per second). Not so hard, make ur finger kinda wet, then rub it with a tiny bit of pressure on round the edge of a whine glass. you should get a tone from that. Then fill the glass with water to change the pitch! ^^
