nothing is wrong with these bikes, they are bone stock, and the F3 was running hot, cuz we couldnt turn it off, the starter went out on it, so to make it fair the R6 was left running and was hot, besides what all do you have done to your F3 to be running low 11s? besides, this wasnt about the 1/4 mile really, it was about riding the track back, dropping the knee on some corners, its the only time you get to ride on the full track with out paying per hour.....
whats wrong with these bikes I have a 98 cbr 600 f3 and I run low 11.30s @ 127mph in the 1/4 looks like these guys need to learn how to race bikes better
F3 is a true streetbike/streetracer. Fuck the R6 it has more HP and more of a race track orientated powerband. In this race R6 wins but Overall F3 wins. Gimme that nice piece of comfortable riding ass over race track performance. Just tune the f3 and stick on some accel orientated sprocket/gearing and u got an R6 beater and a street class comfort winner ;)
98 F3 streetfighter owner and a R6 03 (sold) owner
Great bikes still, but we aren't living in "too fast too furious"
@Cheoz0r your a gooner :) keep a R6 and be part of the flock of sheep who sunday ride and barely know how to negotiate turns but have stupid ass matching leathers loooool
Red is right in this argument. Reaction time doesn't effect E.T. one bit. The only thing RT helps with is getting out of the hole before the other person.
well i guess i was perfect on that run, the sun shines on a dogs ass once in awhile, and i didnt red lit, according to the track , just timed the light right. and i have never been that low reaction time since. and if u dont beleive me, fine but i got the slip to prove it.
i do accept when im wrong but here it when the light goes green the clock starts, i run my bike hard every time, and its always come down to ur reaction time to get ur time lower
reaction time does affect the ET, cuz when the light is green thats 1.4 sec. ur siting at the line, before u move. and if it didnt u mean i could sit at the line for 5 min and still pull a 12 or 13, ya maybe 5 min 12 sec time.
it does not affect it at all. The ET is the Elapsed time from when you leave the start line to when you cross the finish.
Reaction time is how long between the last yellow going out and you leaving.
Take a look at some of the pro drag racers when they have a solo pass, they will sit there for up to 10 seconds after the green, bringing the car up on boost or stall or whatever, and then launch, still to run a 7/8 second pass.
pro drag series the start boosting their cars before the lights green, and it does it affect it, i ran a 13 with a reaction time of 1.4, next run i ran an 11.9 with a reaction time of .359, so it does affect it big time.
i have been draging for about 10 years now, so i think i know. how long have u been draging for, and where do u drag, cuz i will make the trip there if thats how they run 1/4 mile, cuz its not the way they do it where i live
I havent run my bikes down yet, but I help crew for my mates and family.
If you want to make the trip to Willowbank in Australia, then go for it. I think you need to pull your head out, learn to read your time sheets, and be willing to accept that your wrong sometimes.
oh and by the way, on your run with the RT of .359, you would have red lit, as on a Pro tree, 0.400 is perfect, and a standard tree, 0.500 is perfect.
That looked very slow and I own an F3. But either way, it's all in good fun.

I think you have just been badly miss-informed.
Unless this is a simple case of confusion?
The 60 foot time will affect your et, and that is the key to a good time.
The timer DOES NOT START ON THE GREEN LIGHT!!!!
It starts when you leave the line.

do yourself a favour, use google.
"The elapsed time is a measure of performance only; it does not, per se, determine the winner. Because elapsed time does not include reaction time"

13s on 600cc. sport bikes?...they should be mid-low 11s
SunfireSL 3 years ago
ya they should be, but we were sitting at the line for so long the bikes were getting hot, plus with a bad reaction time of 1.435, didnt help much.

I am guessing on the 2nd run, you just rode better.
Test it out next time you are out, wait for green, count to 10 or something, and then go, you will still get a time sheet of 11 something.
You have much to learn about drag racing.
