Now having heard the style and much liking it, I most liikely will do an emulation of my own someday soon. That is the way of good music.

Sorry, this is the Adele song. Great song, but not the song from Coda.

When the composers referred to the original piece, they meant the short score they wrote specifically for the episode. It's completely original.

Here I post what -Marc Fantini, Steffan Fantini and Scott Gordon, composers of Criminal Minds, speak about creating the show's score.. "The original piano piece is sort of a lullaby. We took the solo piano piece, and incorporated it in any way we felt was appropriate to tell the story. Sometimes it was just a fraction of, or permutation of the melody."
